Maybe she also harbors dreams of being in the movies. I suspect I looked just like her a few days ago, when I stopped near the stage door of a Broadway theater on my way to work, angling for a glimpse of the blockbuster actress starring in a play I can’t afford to see. On her way into the theater, the actress locked eyes with me, smiled, gave me a little wave.
“In my opinion, having a vivid imagination is a good thing,” Ronan said. “That’s why we’re holding these auditions at the last minute, as I’m sure you’ve heard. The original actress who was cast suffered from a lack of imagination . And seeing how I’m making a horror movie, which I’m sure you also know, I need someone who has the opposite problem.”
It won’t bring Elise back. It won’t lessen the pain Ronan caused her when she was alive. All it will do is create even more pain. For Ronan’s family. For his fans. For his friends and colleagues.
