In a remote mountain village, the legend of the Snowy Mountain Dragon is sacred—and so is the ritual that names Rita the dragon's bride. Chosen by tradition and bound by duty, Rita ascends the mountain to confront his fate...only to find himself stranded in a blizzard.
Rita is rescued from the snow by Ignat—a breathtaking dragon in human form. Yet the dragon of legend declares he no longer needs a bride.
Determined not to be cast aside, Rita searches for meaning in his sacrifice.... With Ignat's help, he begins to piece together the dragons' long-lost history and discovers something far more dangerous than rejection: the ancient power that turns humans into dragons....
Yk...sometimes I really wonder afte reading smth...like why...what was the point of all this...what was the point of reading this what was the point of writing this. This is one of those.
So a few days ago I read "touch within the abyss" and i thought it was pretty good and the author would do pretty well in their later works cuz the debut work lacked a bit of refinement but was enjoyable overall. This.....this was so not it bro... It jst seemed to feel like a Wattpad concept that should've jst been rotting in the drafts cuz there's literally no plot...jst there was a dragon and for some reason I was chosen to be it's bride from the whole village and oh wait, the dragon is a "good" dragon not like those other bad dragons he's a good dragon and he loooooves me (idk why, even he doesn't know why) and I loooove him (idk why, he doesn't know why either) and I jst want to be a dragon with him even tho its soooo dangerous and could totally die but hey (spoiler alert shocker shocker) I don't for some reason even tho a lot of people have before and NO ONE KNOWS WHY and oh yea I don't have any parents and that gave me trauma. That's it. I jst...I'm so disappointed rn ... What DIDNT help was that the mmc is drawn like a 10 yo with an ages old dragon. It's not okay.
Oh my god, why did nobody tell me that this volume ends like that?! I regret picking this up because now I can't help but want the second volume asap! This is so endearing.
This is an absolute gem. Moyori Mori is slowly but surely becoming my favourite mangaka. Her stories are bittersweet yet full of hope. Her characters carry so much baggage and an intense loneliness that the other person heals little by little. Even though this one is more fantastical than 'Touching Your Night', everything still feels plausible and their relationship is just beautiful. The artwork is an absolute masterpiece. I’ve never seen such delicate, fine lines and such pure expressions. It’s flawless.
First and foremost, this is an incredibly beautiful work - Moyori Mori's art was already beautiful in the debut Touch in the Abyss and this has only improved. It's almost a little like Kaoru Mori's A Bride's Story, both have such incredible detail and it's no wonder both appear to be fairly slow at releasing new chapters. So as far as the art goes, this one can't be recommended enough.
As for the plot - I like it but I am also not entirely convinced by Rita yet. He lives in a village that was ravaged by dragons and has since been sacrificing brides for the dragons every 20 years. Rita takes it upon himself and leaves his village as a sacrifice. His motivation isn't entirely clear - is it because he wants to find a purpose in life? Is it because he doesn't want to go on living? The dragon Ignat certain isn't what he expected, but by and large, Rita's motives strike me as a little selfish. I was more invested in Ignat's story and I definitely appreciated the general set up: Ignat seems neither quite human nor quite dragon. Human emotions seem to affect him differently. Both characters are deeply lonely in their own way and there certainly are many beautiful moments between them.
A lot of the content feels more reflective and almost slice of life domestic affairs rather than a fantasy adventure. There is a melancholic tone throughout this volume but small interactions between the characters lighten things up.
Despite not being entirely convinced by Rita, I did enjoy this volume and I look forward to continuing this series.
The art is absolutely stunning in this 😭🫶 I don't care much about the plot or main character though, I feel like I was just reading this for the next glimpse at how they shaded Ignat's scales or how they drew the dragon 💀
5+ ⭐️ Greatest manga of the year? This was a masterpiece, and I will count the days until we get more from this incredible story! It was just so beautiful, intriguing, heartbreaking, and an absolute joy to read! Anyone who loves romantasy, dragons, and hurt/comfort, needs to pick this up!
Amazing!! Such beautiful art and the story is well written, absolutely love both Rita and Ignat, I honestly can’t wait for the continuation of their story!! Definitely recommend!!

Moyori Mori sensei? I love everything that you do. I read Touch Within the Abyss not so long ago and completely fell in love with Moyori-sensei's art and storytelling. Bride of Ignat was definitely a title I've been wanting to read. I think I saw it once or twice back then but I was so happy that it was going to get an English release! It's definitely a manga worth getting the print copy, the art is beautiful and I feel I could reread this a thousand times. I love Rita and the dragon and their sweet, soft and quiet bond. I'm veryyyy hyped to get to more volumes and know more!
So I picked this up because the art is absolutely gorgeous! And the story itself is pretty interesting.
HOWEVER. There is a big red flag that makes me extremely uncomfortable. At first, I thought the author drawing the MC lead looking young was simply an artistic choice. I've since come to learn that this author apparently has a tendency to do this in all their works. But wait, it gets worse. The love interest, who is a dragon (and looks to be a man in his 30s-40s) refers to the MC as an "infant" and "child", stating our MC is only a "decade (10 years) and then some", leading me to believe our MC is somewhere around 16. Maybe 18, if we're lucky. Stack that on top of the fact that this is rated Older Teen and they've already had a number of encounters that are intimate (no sex but certainly sexual). Just...no.
First of all, it must be said again and again, her artwork is GORGEOUS. Everything looks so beautiful and magical. There’s always so much clear emotion conveyed through her artwork. It’s legitimately one of my favorite things about her work. Because an artist could make something pretty to look at but that feels cold and detached, but this mangaka always packs so much depth of feeling through her work. I LOVE IT!
Second of all, how did this volume end and these two didn’t even share a besito?! My heart! How am I supposed to cope until (god knows when) the next volume will be released? Am I just destined to suffer and weep? Rita and Ignat are too sweet to torture me like this! I just need both of them to be happy and together. They don’t need to be lonely anymore. They have each other. All the little scenes of them hugging and cuddling made me want to weep 💖🥺💖
I guess I’ll sit in my corner and cry as I wait for the next volume…maybe I’ll reread Touch Within the Abyss for the fifth time to console myself 😩
Cozy and kicking my feet cuteee. Rita is just a ball of sunshine with a lot on his shoulders and ignat is so broody it’s my favorite trope pairing. I was sad when I finished this honestly because it was so cute to see them both slowly opening up to each other and no news of volume two so probably reread very soon 🫣
i read this on [REDACTED WEBSITE] at the beginning of the year but waited to log it until the english volume was published & on Goodreads, which is now.
the art is SO BEAUTIFUL... every page is full of really visually delicious illustrations. So i dont even care that the writing is mid. I dont even care that his name is Rita. I just loved looking at it <3
Ich musste mich erst ein bisschen einfühlen, aber am Ende angekommen, fand ich es gut. Ich mochte vor allem Yana, das Rentier, und den Zeichenstil. Ich bin noch nicht sicher, ob ich weiterlesen werde.

I loved the art for this and I thought the story was really cute and the process of dragonization was interesting. j hope they continue this series I thought it was completed but online says the series has been updated since 2023
