This was such an intense read. The action starts strong and never really lets up, but what makes it work is how clearly everything is written. The fight scenes, chases, and close calls are described so vividly that I felt pulled right into the middle of the danger with the characters. I also liked that the story gives Shawn Kidd room to be more than just a man in motion. His intelligence, routines, and the way he studies everyone around him add another layer to the suspense. If you enjoy fast-paced thrillers with a smart lead and high-stakes action, Russell Stoewe’s Reaper List series is easy to get hooked on. At one point a character says, “This feels like a movie,” and honestly, that sums up the reading experience perfectly.

This book kept me invested the entire way!! Kidd is a complex, raw and I found myself rooting for him in his journey watching it all unfold. It had a gritty edginess yet still delivered a lot of heart and emotion. This book is the kind of book that will stick with you long after you finish reading it. What a read!!!!
