The Vampire Bat Shifter's Mate
Wiley Winslow is having a shit night that only gets worse when masked agents abduct him and throw him into a cage with a giant, hungry man bat.
Hamilton Fawkes is having an awesome night now that his fated mate’s blood has given him the strength he needs to escape the government lab that’s imprisoned him for far too long.
They escape, they run, they hide, but even when they find sanctuary, it’s only for a few days before the bad guys are at it again. When our heroes are captured, though, nothing will stop them from saving themselves and everyone else being forced to participate in a totally illegal government program to make super soldiers. Not everyone will make it out alive—but they’re bad guys so they don’t count anyway.

This story was fun and enjoyable, and a little short, but not too short. I really enjoyed reading it, and I wouldn’t mind reading more if it has become a series instead of just one book. Actually I think it’ll be really cute series because there’s so much more to tell.

The Vampire Bat Shifter's Mate missed the mark for me. It is short, and so chock-full of suspenseful and upsetting scenes (and spicy moments) that there's no plot or relationship growth. I can appreciate an instant love fated mates situation, but there was very little dialogue where Wiley and Hamilton could discuss what was going on or bond in any way but physical.
Also there were several points where I struggled to suspend my disbelief. At some point they're hiding in a mega rich man's home that has no real security system, and the man's response to finding them there is to simply shoo them away instead of involving security (they then respond to his charity by stealing this man's clothes and very expensive car). And the attack later in the book when they're supposedly in a super safe compound but the enemy seems to break in with little trouble.
The man-bat monster form was intriguing but about all that saved it for me.

Action Packed!
This book had a lot of action and spice for how short it was. I think that the plot itself was interesting and I liked that they managed to get everything resolved. However, there was a lot of time spent on the action and running away, fighting, escaping which took away from Hamilton and Wiley actually getting to know one another and being in a relationship. While I don’t mind insta lust/love stories this one was also very much filled with spice when the action wasn’t happening and I would’ve loved to see more of them talking and being a couple especially since the moments where they are just having conversations or getting to know one another have some really fun moments where I totally could see the chemistry between them.

This paranormal story is hitting too close to something that could be reality. The dripping of current politics was, while incredibly satisfying, can be a lot if escapism is your goal.
Hammy and Wiley have immediate chemistry and it never stops. I loved how Wiley just went with the flow in all things, from the Instalust to fated Mates and beyond.

*Deep sigh* Where do I even begin...I have read many books by this author following her theme of human/ supernatural being mates. This one was just too head scratcher for me. I appreciate an author on the right side of history but the many mention of ice pulled me out of the story. And when the main characters meet, the book is 90% sex. In a 126 page novella I was asking myself when is too much sex too much? I DNF it at 69% I couldn't do it anymore. I really liked many of her other books but this one missed the mark by miles.

Delaney Rain always delivers exactly what she says she will, and this is hilarious, political, and involves the screaming death of a poorly disguised political figure just as described.
Do you want something lighthearted? Do you want to call every ICE agent you see a gestapo loser? Well then this is the book to read, because it's got jokes, antifash vibes, and then like 8 sex scenes. Top notch!

Fun and Exciting
This was a sweet story about a bat shifter and a human who was to be his meal. Poor Wiley has had a rough day. Kidnapped then stripped down to his socks and shoved into a cell with a huge bat man as his meal. Hamilton sucks his blood and finds out that they’re mates, giving him the extra boost to get them out of there.
A fun and exciting story that I really enjoyed reading. Highly recommended

over political and lacked heart.
I was disappointed by this, I’ve liked her out work but this seemed lazy? If you are going to be political at least learn how to subvert ideas within a story. We read these to escape, not deal with real world politics and be preached to. Aside from that I found the MCs to be extremely bland and uninteresting. It’s like she wrote this to make political point which was weak. Skip.

This was such a cute read! I mean don’t get me wrong there’s trauma and some effed up stuff, but Wiley is friggin adorable, and I love that feral little guy! Hammy 😏 is just so in love and happy to give Wiley whatever he wants. I have yet to read a Delaney book I didn’t love, and this one is no different

this may just be my new Favourite book by Delaney .... and i love them all! i have yet to read a book with a Vampire bat shifter, and this was spectacular. there are some nice peaks at other different creatures / shifters that i really hope get a book of there own, and make this another series.

Spicy as a jalapeño
Wiley and Hamilton were so cute together! Plenty of spice, but also a good plot with an opening for future books (hello Quillan!). If you're on the fence, get off of it and read this book!

amazing
I think the book was really good. Though their were some grammatical errors along the way. The book wasn’t too fast paced or slow. And dare I say a great amount of spicy scenes. I loved the relationship between hammy and our precious princess .

This was a funny read, and I really enjoyed it, it was fast paced, instalove batty goodness and so much fun, a guaranteed happy ending, if you want a fun fast read absolutely give this a read.
