Devil's Torture

Exile was my penance. Bloodshed was my atonement. Years of missing her have been torture.

RUNE
No matter how many times my chrome beast tried to steer us back home, I gritted my teeth and stayed away. It wasn’t just because my Prez ordered it, but because the last thing I want to see is the hatred I’ll find in my woman’s eyes.

I made a choice years ago and I’d make the same one again. Protecting her, the only woman allowed to call me Miller, was all that mattered. That choice took away the only family she had left. Then the club made me run and turned me into a weapon of bloodshed, the Grim Reaper in leather.

But the other half of my soul is calling to me, begging me to come home. Roaring back through the streets of NOLA brings it all back. I’m not ready to drag the whispered secrets into the light, but I am ready to come home. Bexley might not accept me with open arms, but there’s one thing she can’t deny—she’s mine and always has been.

BEXLEY
One night took everything from me, and I still have no idea why. When the excuses rained down on me, I knew they were lies. Maybe the truth would have been harder to face, but the silence has been a worse torture than the loneliness left after the blood was washed away.

Miller didn’t leave clean when he disappeared. I’ve avoided the club for years, tired of the lies the Devil’s Saints have laid at my feet while I’ve been losing a sliver of my soul every day without Rune. The only savior I have now is our daughter, one he’ll never know. Because even if he does come back, I’m not sure I can forgive him when there are too many secrets and broken promises between us.

I should have known the day of reckoning was upon me, I felt the shift in the air and ignored it while hoping for one more day. Facing the man that I used to love makes me realize Rune lost Miller somewhere along the way while making sure to cradle my heart in the safety of his soul. I’m just not sure the hurts between us can be healed once the things never spoken aloud are forced to be examined in the light.

*18+ If you like alpha heroes and an insta-love story that is sweet and spicy but isn’t necessarily simple, then this is for you. No cheating with a guaranteed HEA. This book is part of the Devil’s Saints Motorcycle Club: New Orleans Chapter Series. The DSMC: NO is first mentioned in Flowers and Moonlight. You can also read about the DSMC: Seattle Chapter and Charleston; there is crossover between chapters. The DSMC is not a one percenter club, but these guys don’t always operate within the law either. DSMC books may be darker as the club is morally gray and has ties to crime families. Don’t be surprised if there is OW (other women) drama within the series either.*

Devil’s Saints MC New Orleans – Rune

Gotta love this book in the 31 Days of Trick or Treat Bikers and Mobsters series. This was a spicy and heartwarming book that took me on a great journey with Rune and Bexley’s second chance at love. With being apart for ten years he’s now back and wanting to claim Bexley as his own…he just has to convince her to give him a chance. Rune finds that he has a nine-year-old surprise who was a great addition to this story.

This author always delivers on her MC books and this one was no different.

Miler, aka Rune and Bexley were deeply in love, with Miller doing whatever he could to protect Bexley after her mother passed away leaving with her horrible step-father. Rune is part of the DSMC New Orleans chapter and when Rune takes things into his own hands, he is banished from DSMC for 10 years as penance without getting to say goodbye to Bexley. He works for other clubs taking care of the scum of the earth, when he finally goes home to win the woman he never stopped loving, he finds a 9 year-old daughter, Dawn who she knows who he is.
This second chance romance was a painful one for both Rune and Bexley, to forgive and move forward. When he tells her the truth of what happened 10 years before, Bexley starts to realize the why of what happened, this is a steamy story with lots of heart and great epilogues.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 🏍️🖤🔥 Seven Years of Secrets, a Hidden Daughter, and the Biker Who Never Stopped Loving His Woman!

Devil’s Torture by Ember Davis was such an emotional MC second-chance romance! I loved Bexley and Rune—Simon “Miller” Rune’s— story because there is so much history, hurt, love, and unfinished business between these two.

Rune has spent years in exile, carrying the consequences of a choice he made to protect Bexley. That decision cost her the only family she had left, and rather than tell her the truth, Rune disappeared. The Devil’s Saints turned him into their weapon—the Grim Reaper in leather—but all those years away never changed one thing: Bexley is still his woman. 🖤

Bexley has spent those same years trying to understand what really happened that night. She knows the explanations she’s been given are lies, and the silence has hurt almost as much as losing Rune. The one bright spot in her life is their daughter—the daughter Rune doesn’t even know exists. 😳

So when Rune finally rides back into New Orleans, you just know everything is about to explode.

I loved that underneath the hardened biker Rune has become, Miller still belongs to Bexley. She’s the only woman allowed to call him that, and that little detail said so much about their connection. He may have become someone feared by everyone else, but she still knows the man underneath all that darkness.

Their reunion isn’t easy, either. There are years of anger, unanswered questions, broken promises, and secrets standing between them. Rune can’t simply walk back into Bexley’s life and expect everything to return to the way it was. He has to face what his choices cost both of them.

And then there’s their daughter. 🥹❤️ I loved having that extra emotional layer because Rune didn’t just leave behind the woman he loved—he unknowingly missed years with a child he never knew existed. Watching those secrets finally come into the light makes their second chance even more emotional.

Rune definitely has that possessive “she’s mine, she always has been, and I’m not losing her again” MC energy, but underneath it is a man who has been just as miserable without Bexley as she’s been without him.

I also enjoyed the darker, morally gray MC atmosphere. Rune isn’t a squeaky-clean hero, and the Devil’s Saints don’t always play by the rules. That edge works perfectly with a story about a man who became a weapon while separated from the one person who still holds his heart.

If you love MC romance, second chances, secret babies, hidden daughters, possessive bikers, morally gray heroes, forced separation, years of unresolved love, “she’s always been mine” energy, painful secrets, protective alpha heroes, and couples who have never truly gotten over each other, Bexley and Rune’s story is definitely worth reading. 🏍️🖤❤️

Absolutely 5 stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.

This was a very soft MC romance!
Rune/Miller and Bexley have been each other's person since they were teens. She comes from a very traumatic background, and he was her protector. Until the night he left her and the town under MC orders. That's the night her life changed, and she walked away from the MC just to find out that she is expecting a baby with Rune.
10 Years later, Rune is back in town, he is a deadly enforcer who wants to get back to his old lady, but never expected to find Dawn, his 9 year old daughter besides BEx.

Now he has to fight his anger for the sentences he had to carry out, his repentance for not telling her the truth and taking her with him, the impending fatherhood, and the love that has been waiting for her.

But the road to redemption is long and will need a lot of trust, understanding, love, and an MC who is repentant for losing track of one of its members.

These two were fantastic together, but add Dawn is just such a beautifuk chid.

Bexley and Rune (aka Miller) were young lovers, he did something fierce to protect her and then left town. Bexley, who knew nothing about where and why he left, finds herself pregnant. Her daughter Dawn grows up knowing about her dad.
Rune returns, after 10 years away, sees Dawn and just knows she is his daughter!
OK, now for the 'feels', this is an emotional story about two people who never stopped loving each other. Bexley slowly comes to terms with why he left, Dawn is one strong young girl and Rune is quite simply wonderful. Some heat, lots of talking and two fabulous epilogues.

Rune made the ultimate sacrifice for Bexley: giving up their dream and their now! New Orleans is such a great place for a Halloween story and Ember Davis writes a deeply emotional and poignant second chance romance! Bex and Rune are so great together: I loved their personalities, their chemistry was sizzling, and learning how to love again took patience. Rune protected her with no hesitation, loved her with every fiber of his being, and she held on to that love even while continuing to live her life without him! A great story with a beautiful ending!.

Devil's Torture is set in the Devil's Saint's MC, New Orleans Chapter and is part of the 31 Days Of Trick Or Treat Bikers and Mobsters 2026. I always look forward to the Biker's And Mobsters seasonal reads and Devil's Torture is a fantastic addition to this year's Trick Or Treat series. This one is Rune, Dawn and Bexley's emotional, second chance journey that adds a little sugar with it's heat. The characters are are so perfect and their story is just as great! You don’t want to miss out on this one!

Such a great book by Ember Davis. Rune and Bexley were destined to be together but circumstances in life happen and are kept apart for ten years. When they finally reunite there are secrets that need to be aired and Rune has to try his hardest to win Bexley over again. This book was heartbreaking for Rune and Bexley and what could have been but Rune had to protect Bexley at all costs. I loved all the characters especially Bexley’s daughter Dawn, who is much wiser than her age.

An emotional ride where past decisions meet with present consequences. Rune "Miller" left the love of his life Bexley to be a nomad for his MC for punishment and protection. Now he's back for his woman and the nine year old daughter Dawn he never knew existed. I was rooting for Rune but understood Bexley hesitation with letting him back in his life. The interactions between Rune and Dawn were heartwarming. Loved all the characters.

Taking matters into his own hand's lands Rune aka Miller ten years banishment to atone for his misdeed. He didn't get to say goodbye to Bexley which was the hard part. He has found his way back home and surprises are in store for him. Will he and Bexley get the chance to rekindle the love they once shared. This emotional story had me all caught up in the characters and drawn to their drama as the story unfolds.

Wow... these 2 really had to go through it. My heart broke for them. Especially Bex! She had no choice or say in anything, left completely alone (though some was of her own doing) and just kept going on. Rune worked hard to show her he would never leave again and to build back up her trust. Some spicy and heart-felt times ❤️.

Fast pace good little story!

This little nugget will have you believing in second chances. A fast pave story about a love that could not be extinguish and the journey back to happiness. Five shiny stars. Only set back, the story was to short and I wanted more! I would definitely recommend and all the 31 days of Bikers and Mobsters Halloween. Love the collaboration of all the authors. Peace out.

When Rune leaves town on “club business” Bexley is devastated, but she has to pick up the pieces of her life and move on for her daughter’s sake. When Rune shows up out of the blue they are as shocked to see him as he is to find out he has a daughter. He’s missed so much and will do anything to make it up to Bexley. What a story. I loved this one!.

This book is well written. The characters have depth and are easy to connect to. This second chance romance however is heartbreaking. I was devastated and cried for a portion of this book. The ending did somewhat help me with reconciling with my earlier sadness.

What a fabulous story. A lonely biker on the road undergoing punishment from his MC club. Ten years of punishment. He left behind his great love with no explanation. A lot has happened in her life over those years. Now he is back.
