On a snow-dusted Christmas Eve in London, two lives collide in a quiet coffee shop, one built on code and routine, the other forged in shadows and secrets. Christmas with an Assassin is a razor‑edged thriller that blends the intimacy of a love story with the relentless pace of a covert operation spiralling out of control.
What begins as warmth and chance connection soon turns into a high‑stakes game of survival where every smile hides an agenda, every move is calculated, and every heartbeat could be your last. D.L. Sydney crafts a pulse‑pounding debut that smoulders with tension, laced with glamour, grit, and a chillingly human core.
For readers who crave edge-of-your-seat suspense, morally complex characters, and a festive backdrop that glitters while danger lurks in the shadows, Christmas with an Assassin will pull you in and won’t let go until the final, breathless page.
I normally don’t pick up thrillers, but when I saw the tropes, they called to me and I decided to give it a try. Boy, was I in for the drama.
This book has action, thriller, espionage, romantic suspense, and holiday noir — and it’s set during my favorite time of the year, Christmas. Did I mention it also has a secret identity?
I love how Bailey chose to trust Omar and tell him everything, and how Omar reacted with such calm strength. He is truly the guyest guy.
The side characters were amazing too, each one adding to the story without overshadowing the main characters.
It’s a quick, addictive read — I finished it in one sitting.
This is a 4-star read and I absolutely recommend it.
Thanks to the author and publisher for this ARC. I’m patiently waiting for the next book because I need to know what happens next.
This book is quick, funny, and surprisingly thoughtful all at once. It’s filled with deception at every turn, balanced with moments of action and touches of romance that keep the story dynamic and engaging. The writing flows smoothly, making it easy to sink into the story from the very first page. Despite being a short novel, it packs an emotional and narrative punch. I was drawn in almost immediately and found myself fully invested in the characters and their journey. Overall, it’s a fast-paced, entertaining read that delivers far more depth than you might expect.
Quick. Funny. Deep. Thoughtful. Deception from every corner. Action when needed and romantic....the book reads well.
For a short novel, this does pack a punch. You get sucked in instantly. I loved the characters...even the bad ones. The are rich in depth and totally believable...this is decent short novel to get through on cozy stay-in-doors day, with a hot drink. You will want more....and honestly, I can't for the next instalment.
