While this wasn’t quite what I was expecting after reading the blurb, it was still a cute book. The author has a good writing style and the story was fun.

Sarah inherits an inn from her cantankerous aunt and finds herself with a great deal more in the process. The first person she meets is Alex, a handsome guy who gives her a ride into town after her car breaks down. They don’t have the most auspicious start, though. And once she arrives at the inn she is bombarded with more well-meaning people. A cousin she has never met, a cook, a housekeeper, the town mayor… Sarah decides to take on the inn (with serious nudging from the townsfolk) and make a go of life in the small coastal town.

The book is ostensibly a romance, but it seemed more a comedic story of a woman finding herself, with just a side dash of romance. I found myself laughing quite a few times and enjoyed the story. I did think the notion that Sarah could get an inn up and running in such a short time was completely far-fetched. And there were several other moments that I found myself having a hard time believing. But it *is* fiction, after all.

If you’re looking for a sweet read with a touch of romance and a woman finding her place in life running a big pink inn, you’ll likely enjoy this one.

Needed more information

First time reading this author (unless she use more than one pen name) I am a avid reader so I have read this story before, it is a good read based around a Inn and Sarah loved the characters all are interesting with humour, I must admit I did get a little bored of Alex thoughts and we still did not fully understand why he pushed her away past love maybe but he never talks to her about it or she him about her ex fiance simon.what happened with the auction and the red head? Yes he was not interested but still any human women who has been cheated on would ask.(to learn about his character, maybe Helen could of explained why he was there) it felt like a chapter skipped. Same with Sarah she packed a week's cloths what about the rest of her stuff no friend showing up with the rest of talk about getting her personal things? Why was becca not in the will?

Don't get me wrong the book is a good read but I felt chapters was skipped important information (I was invested) this is a series so maybe some questions will show up later but some was needed in this book, looks like Becca is next the cousin she asked Sarah for a girl talk at the end so set up nicely no cliff hanger.
No ex coming to town this is boy meets girl so build up slow burn romance.

This book was okay. Generally, it is not a Gilmore Girls vibe. Alex, aka Dust-Guy, comes in fast with a cloud of dust following him when Sarah, aka New York, has come to prove her great aunt wrong when her life fell apart in New York. Sarah is a paranormal romance author, but it seemed to be an after thought throughout the book. Alex and Sarah's inner dialogoue were both extremely annoying. With multiple pages just them saying how they didn't need distractions and didn't need to be a distraction to the other person. When they finally do make up the ending feels rushed. However, it is clean as there is no on page bedroom scenes, but there is quite a bit of vulgar talk from another female character. If you are looking for a strong female main character that is determined, stubborn, and strong female empowerment you may appreciate this read. If you are looking for a cozy Gilmore Girl vibe this isn't it.

loved it !! what a great start for this new series !!! set in Maplewood Falls... love Sarah and Alex... this is their story... a fun fast paced rom/com drama... Sarah gets the shock of her life when she catches her boyfriend with another woman... then, she inherits an Inn from a great aunt she doesn't remember... packs her bags and goes... a new start.. a new life.. all she really needed was a new car because hers breaks down on the way... luckily Alex the contractor helps her out and takes her to her Inn... and the town is so happy for a new resident... like really happy !! the Inn is run down and Alex gets hired to fix it !!! and the cook, housekeeper and a cousin she never knew about, well... she rolls with it !!! it's funny !!!.

Newcomer Won Over By Crazy Small Town, Pink Inn and Maybe A Hunky Contractor?

This is light spring / summer reading at its best with a touch of romance thrown in. I loved the town of Maplewood Falls and all of its quirky characters, festivals and traditions yet all of them had the best intentions for helping Sarah make a success of the Inn and embracing her into the town. Even Alex (hunky contractor) seemed to show up and fix things she didn't even know were broken, yet he was a master at sending the most mixed romantic signals ever, but he kept the pages turning and the reader cheering for Sarah's success on all fronts. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series- Enjoy!

This is Book 1 of the Maplewood Falls series. And a wonderful start it is! Look forward to more from this world.

The characters drove the storyline and they were so very appealing and likeable and complicated and absolutely perfect together. Plot was intriguing and exciting and well paced. World building was solidly drawn and impressive. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend.

I actually wanted to rate this 3 1/2 stars but I haven’t figured out how to do a half star yet. This seems to be the beginning of a very cute, small town romance series. I enjoyed the storyline and the characters are very likable. What almost ruined it for me was the extremely long internal conversations they were having in their own heads, sometimes lasting six pages, which to me was borderline boring. However, I am not giving up and giving it a chance so I’m going to continue reading this series and now I am off to book 2.

I really enjoyed this book

Cleverly written. Smart characters that I instantly liked. I kept finding my face pulled into a smile, over and over again. I needed that. Lots of sassy, but caring female characters (including the inn, itself) and a male protagonist that felt genuine and (refreshingly) unproblematic. Things worked out for our heroine without the need for bitchiness, drama or unnecessarily derailing challenges - and not a single second of it was boring.

Sembrava scritto bene molto scorrevole finché poi non ci troviamo nei soliti libri in cui lei si ritrova a “fissare”il pacco dello sconosciuto (scritto proprio così) e lui a ricordarsi del seno di lei dopo il primo incontro …doveva essere una commedia romantica … non è il mio genere.
