Samantha Lewis has spent years hunting the Silver Spur gang, the outlaws who murdered her mother and stole her childhood. She drifts from town to town selling paintings and raising her sister, Franny, driven by one justice. When her search leads her to Farlow, Texas, just before Christmas, she doesn't know she's walking straight into the heart of danger—or into the arms of a man who could change everything.
Levi Ashford is a quiet rancher and journalist haunted by his father's sins. He's built a life of solitude to escape his past and the whispers about his father's connection to the ominous gang. But when Samantha arrives asking dangerous questions, something awakens in him—and he realizes helping her means risking not just his secrets, but his carefully guarded heart.
Their fragile bond shatters when Levi's father returns, wounded and hunted by the very gang Samantha seeks. Now she must choose between vengeance and the man whose blood ties him to her enemy. As Christmas approaches and danger closes in, they'll discover that justice comes with a price—and that love might be the only thing worth fighting for.
"A Rancher’s Heart Under the Mistletoe" is a historical romance novel of approximately 80,000 words. No cheating, no cliffhangers, and a guaranteed happily ever after.
Levi & Samantha discover they have a shared history. They both want the Silver Spur Gang in jail, held accountable for their crimes. The story has a gang, kidnappings, and shootouts, but it is also inspirational and uplifting. Despite everything that happens, there is also a twist of mercy and forgiveness.
As the story progressed, I felt like I knew the main characters, and their layers began to reveal their depth. I was hooked from the beginning. Samantha was my favorite character. She was courageous and would do anything for her sister, Fanny. I loved the ending and read the book in one sitting. Highly recommended.
Now this is a story I didn't see coming! There is so much going on in this book that it's almost impossible to put down. I don't want to spoil it for anyone so I will only say that you will sympathize with the internal struggles of the main characters as they navigate their way to a HEA.
Interesting story of revenge sending a young woman and her sister around the country hunting the villain. When she meets a man and later finds out he is hunting the same gang but for different reasons. Can they work together or cause problems for the other?
