Six months in hiding. One chance at redemption—and love.
Former SEAL Griffin "Ghost" Hawkins has been off-grid for months, hunting his best friend's killers through back alleys and black sites. When his hunt collides with FBI forensic accountant Sarah Winters' investigation, sparks fly. Not the good kind.
Sarah's never fired a gun. She thinks "tactical gear" means sensible flats. But she sees patterns Griff could never uncover, while her unshakeable faith challenges everything he's forgotten how to believe. As they race against time to prevent a false flag operation designed to destroy his Knight Tactical team, the walls around his heart—and his abandoned faith—begin to crumble. Can a man who's lost everything learn to believe again, in God and in love, before it's too late?
Don't miss this exciting conclusion to the New Recruits Series.
Hope Where every mission echoes with danger. Faith lights the way. And love is the ultimate rescue mission.
Another Thrilling Roller Coaster ride! 5 Giant Glittering Stars!!
Book seven was an excellent thrill ride of a story filled with taunt drama and heart pounding suspense. Griffith (Griff) is the main focus in this last book in the series. Nick named Ghost for his ability to move quietly and s disappear like smoke, he also has a brooding nature and quite resolve. Still grieving the death of their team member Tank who was murdered in the first book in the series, Griff finds evidence that the perpatrators though to have been brought to justice are still operational and planning far more sinister crimes. He disappears and starts working alone thinking he is keeping his team safe.
Sarah Winters, FBI forensic analyst has also discovered some nefarious and disturbing patterns while researching a paper trail involving large sums of money. But her discovery has put her in the crosshairs of some very dangerous individuals. But she is also on Griffs's radar. He is determined to keep her safe whole working with her to access the evidence he needs to obtain justice for Tank.
What follows is a taunt, fast paced and heart pounding drama as Griff and Sarah fight to stay alive. Finally having to contact his team and with some unexpected help from a former college professor with some hidden talents they have a plan in place, but implanting it may still get them all killed.
This last book in the series was one of my favorites as it brings everything full circle. Justice for Tank, finally some peace for Griff and Sarah being enfolded into the Knight Tactical family. Some light hearted moments as the team teases Sarah with a new nick name, and Professor Doc commanding everything like a general while wearing pearls. Some happy tears at the end. Definitely one worth reading again. Highly enjoyable and entertaining. Faith throughout the story which we need more of these days.
It's primary focus is finding justice for Tank, a militaray team member who was killed trying to expose criminals at the highest milarty level. A fellow team member named Griffin Hawkins—code name: Ghost—currently a ghost, has shut himself off from his military brothers-in-arms, to keep them all safe. When he discovers FBI analyst, Sarah Winters has been following the money and can help him track the people responsible for Tank's murder, he saves her from certain death.
As they go on the offensive, they discover they each bring unique skills to the table that balance each other. The action and the story are top-notch, though I wondered how one of the team members got released after being arrested. If it matters to you, this is a Christian-centered story, so there is absolutely no heat and I prefer a balance between suspense and romance.
Wow! I did NOT want to put this book down! The latter half of the book will have your pulse racing… my brain imagined the countdown clock from the show 24 playing. What was going to happen and how was it all going to work out?!?
And while there was definitely a plot and and part of it raced forward, I did find myself enjoying the characters themselves. It’s always great to see Edie James’ humor interwoven in the dynamics. This book almost couldn’t be classified as a romantic suspense, but the characters did get together at the end - just don’t expect a ton of romance in the lead up.
Needless to say, I really enjoyed the finale to this series, even if I’m sad to see this chapter of Hope Landing come to a close.
A must read series for all who truly believe that power of God’s love encompasses everything! Edie James is a powerful Christian writer who brings honor, compassion and peace to all who ask! Heroes, heroines, drama, trauma, greed and corruption , with God’s love in the mix!
I have read all the New Recruits books now, and this was one of my favorites. The whole series is exceptional! Hated to see it come to an end! Well done Edie James! Well done
This series, itself, is a fast read, but fun. This one had a little more edge and thrill, but there were parts in all that spun rather quickly. Here, the team's faith shone brightest, and was more liberal in its use.
Just finished this series. It is beyond amazing. Well written. Faith inspiring. Totally beyond awesome ..I don’t have the words to express how much I love this series..
I love each and every one of these books in this series. The love, the hope, the faith that comes alive in each one of these books is awesome. A few of them kept me up half the night, but it was well worth it.
This entire series has been so artfully crafted with danger, faith, and romance. As I came toward the end of this last book, I involuntarily slowed down because I didn’t want the Knight Tactical Team saga to end. Thank you for pouring your heart and soul into theses characters and making them come alive. The intertwining of their lives and their faith journeys in these stories are truly outstanding and memorable!
