Saxon Powell was focused on catching passes, not women. But when the grumpy football player met Ivy Fisher, he knew the sunshiny stylist was his end game.
Ivy never expected the Nighthawks’ star wide receiver to actually remember her name—let alone show up in her salon. Between long hours and a packed schedule, she doesn’t have time for distractions. But Saxon is relentless in a quiet, steady way that makes resistance impossible…until gossip threatens to tear them apart.

This begins another part of the Nighthawk series, and Saxon and Ivy are the perfect couple to do so.
If you are looking for an insta-love, he falls first, steamy, grumpy sunshine story that is easy to read and connect with - look no further - these pages turned themselves. As we know from the previous stories, there's not much that will stand in the way of these guys, when they find their forever love.
I enjoyed the acts of sweet attention and singlemindedness in his approach to securing Ivy's affections. These characters are easy to love, and I look forward to the next one in this series. Once done here, please visit the catalog of this author duo for more entertaining reads! Worth your time, IMO.
I received an ARC (thank you) and happily leave my thoughts.
Exploding ovaries is right!! Saxon Powell is a man who absolutely does things to you 🥵🫠! As soon as he got all obsessive and growly, I was a puddle until the very end. He is simply a man who knows what he wants and makes it happen. I love the men on the NY Nighthawks because they are all so supportive of their women. Just the way he shows up for Ivy day after day.. 🥹. And then there is the slow burn.. the longing.. I love it when you haven't even gotten to the spicy part yet, but the heat is still turned way up 🔥!
Maybe is because is a long running series but the stories are getting a lot more simpler with a lot less heat in them. It is a cute story of a athlete meeting a woman tgat he can't stop thinking about. That is it. They get to know each other a little as he insists in driving her home every night after work. He is not a talker but she is. Nothing exciting. Theur first time together was... blah. I will forget this book in about 2.3 seconds
Ivy and Saxon…yes another story of insta attraction. These two took time to get to know each other and I enjoyed their dating time. Passion follows, no real angst, family, friends and so much love followed by epilogues that had me smiling.
I received this as an arc from the author an I’m voluntarily leaving my honest review.
This was a cute grumpy sunshine romance. It was a short story with a good flow. It had an interesting storyline and I liked the characters. Saxon and Ivy had good chemistry and I enjoyed their HEA.
"Touchdown" is the 13th book in the New York Nighthawks series, and it's such a fun read! Ivy is excited to help her best friend, Lorna at her brand-new shop. Little does she know, her life is about to change when Saxon, a player from the New York Nighthawks, comes in for a haircut. Saxon might have a reputation for being grumpy and broody, but he quickly realizes that Ivy is someone really special.
The chemistry between these two is off-the-charts! Ivy is a bit shy and has a hard time trusting others, but Saxon gets it. He’s determined to show her how much he cares by being there for her every day.
I absolutely love how fast and hard Saxon falls for Ivy—just like his teammates have for their partners! I was so hooked on their story that I read it in one sitting. It’s the perfect cozy read, filled with spice, an age gap, just a little amount of drama, and a totally lovable protective alpha male. As a huge football fan, I’m so happy to be back in the New York Nighthawks world, watching new players find their forever matches with amazing women!

I love a broody character and Saxon had it in spades. Known as the player that doesn't talk much, definitely does not do any PR and keeps to himself most of the time. He finds himself very unsettled and on edge since meeting Ivy. He can't stop thinking about her and knows he needs to make a play. Ivy is best friends with Lorna who we met in another book in the series. She is sweet and sassy but also finds it hard to trust that Saxon actually wants her.
I love that Saxon continued to show up day in and day out, even if that meant standing off to the side watching her work, growling at the male customers who think they have a shot with his girl. I am all for a good girl moment and man does Saxon deliver.
I love Fiona's MC series but it is so good to be back with the men and women of the Nighthawks. These two were a great addition and I can't wait to see which player falls next.
This was a slow burn, all in for him type of book in the Nighthawk series. I enjoyed the build up to the relationship and how hard he really worked to essentially woo her. Saxon was quiet, broody and laser focused on anything that mattered to him, and Ivy just became his sole purpose. He was adorable and I loved how he came of his shell a bit with her. Ivy was guarded and a little wary of if he would stick around, she really made him work for it! I wasn’t really sure where that all came from, she seemed way more wary than most would have been. But the tension was well written and I appreciated how wrong she realized she was in the end for it all. Having Lorna there as a friend I think really helped too. No cheating or OM drama, slight OWD but through no fault of either of them, virgin FMC, lite breeding, dual POV, HEA and 2 adorable epilogues. Can’t wait to read Raiden’s story!
I devoured this book!!! It is book #13 of the New York Nighthawks series and is about Saxon and Ivy. Saxon is quiet, doesn’t smile much and never laughs. He grunts answers to people…he’s the classic grump. Ivy is bubbly and happy and talks constantly when she’s nervous. Saxon calls her “Sunshine” which I think is a perfect nickname for her. I liked how the book was sweet. He gave her butterflies and she gave him a reason to smile and laugh. The gang was shocked to hear him laugh. He was grinning, in a better mood and looked happy all because of Ivy….but things aren’t always simple especially when you have paparazzi following you around and people second guessing the relationship. Will Saxon show Ivy that just because he’s quiet doesn’t mean people don’t listen? Will she be able to adapt to the media and his fans? 5⭐️ 3 🌶️
Saxon is a professional football player who was smitten with Ivy from their first meeting. When he has a PR obligation he decides that this will be the perfect time to spend some time with her by arranging for her to cut his hair. From there he is determined to show her how special she is to him beginning with driving her home every day and sending treats to her work.
Ivy is a partner in a salon with her best friend Lorna who is in a relationship with Saxon’s coach. At first she isn’t certain what to make of his interest in her but when doubts surface Saxon is there to show her the only woman he wants is her.
Saxon is swoony as when he meets Ivy he is all in. He knows that she is his end game and is willing to take his time until she knows it as well.
This is a rare slow burn from these authors. I love Saxon & Ivy! Ivy is slow to trust Saxon is actually interested in her, but he's determined to show her his intentions by showing up. He pursues her in the sweetest ways! And she's very ready to get to the 🔥, but he's determined to wait until he's sure she understands - this is forever!
They do get their steamy HEA, and when there's a hiccup, Saxon goes full steam ahead to assure his woman she's the only one he sees. I love the way he doesn't hide anything & the way Ivy is cautious but still all in.
Also, I love this team! The banter & friendships are so much fun to read!
This book is insta-love, slow-burn, grumpy and sunshine story, if you love this genre then this book is for you. Saxon knows that Ivy is his and every day he do everything to see her and do small things for her. Their attraction for each other is so hot 🥵🥵 and the way they care for each other is so sweet.
Just seeing them fall for each other and love each other makes me swoon 😍 just like his teammates before. I'm a huge fan for this series and I can't wait for the next book already 😍😍😍
I received a free copy of this book and I'm voluntarily leaving a review.
Who doesn’t need a hot broody football player in their life? Another great addition in the addictive Nighthawks series you won’t want to miss. Saxon..growly, possessive…fell instantly for Ivy and now he is all in to make her his. I loved how his “discipline, focus and control” was absolutely wrecked by Ivy. Ivy was all doubts and sweetness. Their slowburn to sizzle was perfection! Cannot wait for the next in this well written series. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Football anyone? This time in the series we have Saxon and Ivy. Little did I know someone can go to get a haircut and fall in love. Fantastic premise and a wonderful read. This one has a bit more of a slow burn to ti but you know with Fiona Davenport, those ladies know how to tell an instalove story. I enjoyed how Saxon took his time to ensure that Ivy was comfortable and ready. He was all in and just needed to break out of his shell a bit to ensure that she was too.
Great read! Thank you Fiona Davenport for sharing the advanced copy with me.
This is book number 13 of The New York Nighthawks series and focuses on Saxon and Ivy. Saxon knew that Ivy was his from the first moment he saw her, but he knew that he would have to slowly win her over. Ivy felt the connection to Saxon right away but didn't fully trust the connection right away. I loved how Saxon knew what he wanted right away and didn't hide his intentions and what he wanted. This was a great story and a great addition to the series.

𝙏𝙤𝙪𝙘𝙝𝙙𝙤𝙬𝙣: 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙉𝙚𝙬 𝙔𝙤𝙧𝙠 𝙉𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙬𝙠𝙨 #13 𝙗𝙮 𝙁𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖 𝘿𝙖𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩 was was another great read by Fiona Davenport! I can’t get enough of her characters and stories. Saxon and Ivy's story was quick, and the right amount of hot. He went after what he wanted and committed with no games, just all in. He could be my pastry fairy any day.
Let me preface by saying i haven't read any of the other books in this series, but have read lots of Fiona Davenports other books. That being said I dont feel like I was missing anything to understand the story, though there were def references to what I assume are the other stories in the series. It was a wonderful book full of instalove/lust, possessive and obsessed ott alpha male and the sweet, talkative, cautious woman he falls for.
Book 13 of The New York Nighthawks series and we get Ivy and Saxon to welcome us back. If you want a Obsessed, Protective MMC and a smart, wary virgin fmc Fiona has you covered. Saxon is all in on Ivy from the moment he laid eyes on her, she's just a little slower on the pick up as she struggles to believe he could really be into her. Very mild angst, high heat, sexual chemistry off the page and a HEA in this 5 star read.
Broody....thy name is Saxon. I don't think I've ever read a more broody MMC outside of a dark romance or mafia romance. As in true Fiona fashion, he's a growly, possessive, Alpha male who doesn't think any one should stand next to, let alone look at, his woman Ivy.
This book, however; is a bit of a departure for Fiona Davenport as it is more of a slow burn than the insta-love that we normally have from them and I'm not complaining at all!
And another Nighthawk found his forever and fell head over heels for his woman. Saxon fell instantly for Ivy( the best friend of his coaches wife) and now nothing and nobody could stop him from claiming his woman. Ivy was a bit hesitant that Saxon would be in it for the long run, but boy was she wrong. Instalove, sweet, romantic, fun to read, sweet banter, steamy and safe with an awesome HEA and no drama 😍😍😍😍
Ahhhh. Yes! I’m so happy to return to the New York Nighthawks! Saxon is a goner from the moment he first saw Ivy. And of course, Ivy returns those feelings but is a bit reserved. I loved watching their relationship develop. This is short, sweet and steamy. Perfect! I’m so excited for more from this team!
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Saxon and Ivy were wonderful together. I loved how grumpy Saxon is the first for sunshiney Ivy. This was a short but great read that will have you wishing that it was longer because these two a perfect together. I can’t wait to see what happens next.
I received an e-book copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
I love this series by Fiona Davenport so much and I’m so glad that these authors are writing more of it! This series is football and fire and just the best. I can’t wait for more stories like this one!
Ivy is the shy hairdresser who comes to give Saxon a groom prior to a PR event . From the minute he lays eyes on her she is his ! Now she just needs to get with the program .
I swear, this series keeps getting better and better. Saxton was perfection!!! And Ivy, she was pure soul. I loved them together. Super cute ending as well. 10 stars if I could!!! 🤩💯
I am really happy that this series has returned since I truly enjoyed it. Saxon and Ivy, have my other favorite Nighthawks guys. The slow burn was great. Fiona Davenport never disappoints, keep them coming.
I am always excited about Fiona’s books, and adding more stories to this series has made me very happy because I love these series. Saxon met Ivy and knew she was the woman of his life, he conquered her and proved that what they felt was real. Very good happy ending
Loved Saxon and Ivy! Saxon was a little more aloof than some of his teammates but that didn’t make him any less possessive of Ivy. It was adorable. And the epilogue had me melting it was so cute!
