A Brief Glimpse Into Tudor Women

Tudor Women is a book that explores the world of Tudor women from the rule of Henry VII to the death of Queen Elizabeth I.

Given its brief nature, lack of sources and missing details it should not be considered as the ultimate resource but rather a stepping stone. Here readers are introduced to a generic life for women depending upon their hierarchical standing and/or their participation in the few roles open for them. And even a glimpse into the darker side of life.

At the same time, readers are introduced to several of the more notable women of the time whereas they are actual Tudor woman, literary characters or those whose reach helped to form the subject of the book.

The book is illustrated with both AI-inspired portraits, sepia-toned coloring pages and actual coloring readers, which aren't doable in Kindle of course.

The reasons I don't give the book 4 stars is since there quite a few misspellings, including names. And secondly the author chose not to include captions for the portraits, which can be a problem, especially if you aren't similar with these women. Even the portrait for the Tudor sisters Margaret and Mary seems to be wrong as it seems to me to be a portrayal of young Elizabeth and Mary.

All in all it was a fascinating and quick read that will definitely add to any history curriculum, especially one focused on this explosive timeframe.
