Ma'am, I know that you are the literal death devil and everything, but I refuse to call you by your chosen name of Li'l D. It needs to be studied how something can be so unserious yet so traumatic (and awesome).
If you don't like this, then you don't like Chainsaw Man.
This is the most batshit insane that this book has been in a long time, and it's so good. It's just working for me. I feel like it is Fujimoto's cycle to reach these unfathomably bizarre heights, and to push the boundaries of the internal consistency of his world. And every time we're at the crest of his latest wave, I just ride it like lightning.
“Even if you don’t know anything at all … you were chosen by chainsaw man.”
oh chainsaw man
degenerate but so very moving
with its abrupt ending, I ended up playing catch-up from ch 179 just now haha
Part 1: chainsaw man; riveting, intense, and dark, equally as emotive as action packed and kind of ends at a perfect place; makima still stands as one of my all time favourite characters amongst an already stacked and memorable cast
Side note I love the anime’s cinematic approach to it all
“Everyone’s after my chainsaw heart! What about my heart?! Denji’s! Does nobody want that?!”
Part 2? (rest): denji; set up for the rest of the apocalypse demons, denji in the hands of the public safety sector, a new mfc, asa/yoru, who is unfortunately perfect for denji … it’s intimate and slower paced but somehow more convoluted, new characters are forgettable, it’s so easy to get lost in the commotion
part 2 is much more reminiscent of fire punch in its messiness, compounded after coming off of such a complete and loved part 1
I think it does return to enthusiastic form closer to the end, which wasn’t realized until its end
Fav arcs: - Chainsaw man church - Ageing devil
there isn’t a detrimental dip in art quality, no long standing (albeit it would’ve been deserved) hiatuses, what I assume a chosen time to end, and an incredible (hopefully ongoing) anime adaptation
as much as the first section of part 2 doesnt amaze me, it’s mostly due to how incredible part 1 was, and I do think it comes full circle by the end, faithful to denji and his wants and sensibilities, which is a hard ask for a lot of manga series
it’s a violent grandiose nonsensical manga and as abrupt as the finale was, I think it works
Hmmmm, I didn’t really enjoy this one. I don’t think I am liking where this story is going, I figured it would end soon, and this definitely feels close to the end, but it just feels so different from the first part of the series. So many shonen series feel like their inspiration has drained dry by the end of the story and I guess this one is the same? Maybe I’m just too tired idk (it is 3:54 am for me right now oopsie).
part 2 was a pretty crazy ride. there was a lot that was great, there was also a lot that could have been better. the whole fight with yoru was such a mess i could barely even understand what was going on half of the time. i still enjoyed it as a whole, and the ending? i'm not entirely sure what to make of it yet. i don't hate it, but it was so abrupt it felt a bit weak. i sort of get what fujimoto was trying to do, but it really needed more time to be cooked. overall, it's still an incredible work of fiction that gave birth t0 some of my favourite characters ever and i'll always think of it with affection. thank you, chainsaw man.
¡Hasta siempre, Chainsaw Man! ❤️

No me gusta poner los mangas leídos aquí pero el final de una de mis obras favoritas lo merecía. Qué bonito final nos diste Fujimoto, eres mi incel fav 🫶🏻
Damn that was crazy. I had to go back to school (kinda fun actually) so i didnt read this for a few days which means my brain kind of forgot or separated a bit from what was happening but still... omg that was crazy. Im actually not ready for this to be over, im always trying to consume my favorite medias as fast as posible to experience all the rush and story together but when im faced with it actually ending i feel so lost. I think i read a spoiler about pochita i think sacrifycing himself (like eating himself i think?) for denji and it makes sense that it could end like that even if it woyld devastate me. I reached a point in one of these chapters seeing yoru just destroying everything that i couldnt see this ending, in-world-wise, after so much loss so much death what would the world look like, and how would denji live in it. ngl i am a bit scared of how this will play out, specially considering this will be the end, no more volumes no more writing my thoughts in these "reviews" and, more than anything, no more seeing denji and no more chainsaw man story. i usually really miss many characters when i finish a new story that i loved, but in here, i mean everyone already died, a lot we didnt even see that much (or at all) in part 2, the only characters that are left playing a role are pretty much the devils (really like them but its not like im really scared they could die though) denji and asa, yoru just has to be stopped. idk im a bit of a mess right now and i havent eaten so im gonna go have lunch and then continue with the chapters. im really excited but also worried, i think that sums it up
(i really did go on a tangent about how i feel about finales lol -really remembering snk that destroyed me i love it- but other than that i was really cool to see the pochita and denji fusion even though im a bit scared about repercusions, asa backstory it tying with denji's and denji calling them 'parent killers' was also, i mean not 'fun' lol, but interesting?, yeah it was fun, also the death devil going from fami to lil d WAS SO FUNNY i love her, also love the real fami shes so me. final note but i would like to see yoru and makima analyses bc maybe its just that they both like the 'final bosses' but yoru really reminded me of makima especially in this volume)
LMAOOOOO. This isn’t the last volume of Chainsaw Man, but the last chapter just released. Unlike the VAST majority, I hated Chainsaw Man from about volume 6 onwards and stopped at part1. This was at a point where the manga was being endlessly praised nearly everywhere I looked it seemed. Now that the mass psychosis is over and the series is finished, we can admit Chainsaw Man consists of shoddy writing, middling art (in all fairness, there are some incredibly provocative panels and spreads though), shit characters, and very messy themes. Chapter 232 released recently, and all the back lash that came with it feels somewhat vindicating, though it makes me feel bad for fans who obviously cared about the series when the Mangaka was clearly over it.
Entire plots are abandoned, characters are brought back from the dead seemingly on a whim, and there’s barely any closure to a story that should’ve been shelved years ago all for the sake of what Fujimoto thinks are “themes”. In the risk of creating a straw-man, the common argument I’m seeing defending this awful piece of work is that the writing is shit on purpose in service of “themes”, which is obviously massive cope. The ending, but also the entire manga as a whole, is held up as this post-modernist and subversive work of art, which to anyone who actually reads books AND manga will tell you is flat out absurd. There are so many works across eastern and western literature (AND WITHIN THE MEDIUM ITSELF) that not only explore more interesting themes more thoroughly, but also contain well thought out and amazing characters and/or plots to go with it. It’s not a zero-sum game where it’s one or the other. This argument also presupposes that the themes are well explored or even worth pondering on, which is also obviously not true because the author could barely be bothered to finish it LMAO. There’s more substance in an episode of Bluey. What a colossal waste of everyone’s time, and Fujimoto is a hack fraud.
If Chainsaw Man has 1000 haters, I am one of them. If Chainsaw Man has 1 hater, it is me. If chainsaw man has no haters, then I’m dead.
I've been following the chapters on Jump+ and reading each new one that comes out within hours of release. Now that this has been posted on here, I can state my thoughts on all the chapters that will most likely be in this volume, up to 222. Denji Man.
I gotta say, despite many fans' complaints about Part 2, the only time I've ever come close to agreeing with them about this series beginning to wane was with the Chainsaw Man Church arc. I found their concept interesting but the execution lacking, especially since its leader is one of my least favourite characters in the entire series. Before and after that, though, this has been a wild. Yoru's second battle with Denji has been nothing short of a goddamn blast, and as their battle escalates to greater apocalyptic heights with each new chapter, while never losing sight of the core themes and emotional payoffs for both Denji and Asa. Fujimoto hasn't lost his touch or forgotten what he was doing with their internal conflicts and I applaud how he's using spectacle to explore those themes. I'm looking forward to the rest of it.
3/14:POCHITA, NOT A WORLD WITHOUT POCHITA! POCHITA THE MOST PEAK CHARACTER 🥹 Final chapter on 3/24 omg I need to see if there is going to be a happy ending for Denji, probably not….. The battle was very similar to the ones in volumes 11 and 20 but the ending is what made this a 4 stars instead of 3 stars, pochitaaaaaaa 🥲 At the exact moment in which Denji finally accomplished his most important life dream/goal, the realization that none of that full filled him was what it’s making this the finale, ummm that’s peak. Might go up to 4.5 or 5 stars depending on 3/24, I’ll come back! Also, the fact that Yoru was supposed to be more feared than Makima since she is the mother of the gun devil and all the other weapons, she still somehow didn’t impress me as much as Makima. Can’t believe I’m saying this, but I miss Makima she was such a good evil character. I also still can’t wrap my head in the fact that people genuinely want Asa with Denji, they barely interacted and they are lowkey boring together. We’ll see in the finale what happens, I hope Denji can have a better life :( Imagine they bring back Aki and Power, who am I kidding this is Fujimoto 😭✌🏻💔 Fujimoto COOKED but CAN HE STOP BURNING ME AHHHH POCHITA. Only thing I didn’t like is that we had 30thousand panels of fights and then suddenly offscreen Denji gets eaten, that was a little rushed but we’ll see soon.
4.5! 3/24/2026 OMGGGGG POWER IS BACK YASSSS, they didn’t mention Aki and that’s NOT cool BUT I’m assuming he IS alive yayyyyy! My Hayakawa family LIVES! Honestly I did like the ending, yes the story had more potential, but this ending was good enough, as long as Denji has Power, Aki, and Nayuta I’m chilling! Also LOVE that he didn’t end up with a love interest! He just saved Asa as chainsaw man and that’s it, I’m assuming that’s all they will ever interact. Asa also deserves a chance at a normal healthy life! Reze, Aki and angel were not mentioned tho :( Lowkey the story had more potential for MORE, but it’s good!
