Interesting book, but it’s written by a guy who seemed to partly like hanging out with Eddie because he is a fanboy and partly because he liked him as a friend. Couldn’t provide the tough love Eddie needed at points in his life. Also clearly details the period where Eddie went off the deep end and cut people out of his life, including the author.
I've read many books on Van Halen and mostly enjoyed this one. I learned a lot about the man whose music has occupied my brain for 40+ years. The only issue I have with the book is the overwhelming adoration Rosen has for Edward. It's just a lot....too much really....sometimes. The flowery language used in reference to Edward becomes tedious. So great information but too much adoration.
