It’s a good story. Reading Brick first will help to fill in some blanks. I love the team, and Chrislyn has really great ideas. I am enjoying getting to know the characters, and I am invested in what is going on with Tallie and Smoke, so I will be following along for future stories. I do think as a new author she might benefit from the help of a good, experienced editor to help streamline and provide a better flow of her plot. Rook and Allison are a great couple, but their relationship seems to jump around a bit rather than progressing from the beginning to a happily ever after. I do not mean to dissuade you from reading the book. Please do because new authors need our support and this one has great potential.

2nd book in the series by this reader turned author. * PSA you must read book one to understand the characters and the storyline.* on to the review.
Blackstone protects their family. One of their family is missing and they are scrambling trying to find her.
However, she is not the only one missing. A former team member BUD buddie is missing. He left a trail only his sister can follow.
Follow the story as the team has to spilt their focus between 2 missing family members. However, this is no ordinary team and there will be surprises along the way. This reader was shocked I tell you. I was riveted from page one. Enjoy.

Holy Mother of Suspense…Chrislyn Alexander can weave a maze of suspense like nobody’s business! Rook: Beneath the Surface is built on fear, terror, whodunnits and which way do you go, who do you trust. Throw in some romance and hawt chemistry and KABOOM…my kind of book!! When a brother is lost, a sister sets out to find him with clues that point to Rook. Will Rook help Allison find Ethan? Will the attraction they feel build or fizzle? Will they make it out alive? Whew! Don’t miss out on this hair raising, action packed romance! LOVED IT!!!❤️❤️❤️

Did not enjoy this book. Too long, some of it was too hard to understand.
