A Vampire for Christmas
Is a holiday vacation in a mountain cabin too much to ask for? A moose apparently thought so, right before it rammed my car off the road.
My Christmas trip quickly becomes the making of a horror movie when instead of dying, I wake up in a handsome stranger’s bed, alone in his cabin, deep within the woods.

Lucian is one of my favorites now . He had to have Sawyer.
She didn't have the greatest life and horrible mother who always cared about boyfriends.
She always dreamed of traveling and doing things she never went to as a child or as an adult . Trying to survive and make it but with having a mother like hers and always ending helping her mother out of guilt, which isn't her problem .
Lucian knew she was different, and she was meant for better things and with him.
I loved how protective he was over her. Who wouldn't want a vampire that possessive and protective over you & seeks to make you happy.
the way he could sense her mood when it was sadness or disappointment & when she was aroused without needing to say a word.
“Get this through your head right fucking now—I will never hurt you. I found you. I claimed you. And I’ll be keeping you. No harm will ever come to you again. That’s a fucking vow.”

🩸Am început să citesc acest mic roman dintr-o întâmplare, dar nu mi-a displăcut deloc, ba chiar a fost o poveste drăguță cu ființe supranaturale, cu o eroină care a suferit mult, dar care mereu a luptat pentru a supraviețuii și care a înțeles ca trebuie să se pună pe ea pe primul plan, cu un vampir care mereu a așteptat să își găsească perechea și care atunci când a descoperit-o a căutat să îi îndeplinească toate dorințele, iar toate acestea au avut un decor craciunistic, după cum îi spune și numele.

A festive treat within the Black Magic series

With the scent of human blood within the wintery air, Lucian was a blur of snowflakes as he tracked down Sawyer in the car crash. Instead sinking his fangs deep, something fell into place and locked around Lucian black heart opening up long forgotten feelings.
Down girl. Let’s not get horny for the deadly vampire.
Finding out that Sawyer has never celebrated Christmas with her deadbeat of a mother, Lucian makes it his mission to bring a true Christmas to Sawyer in every humanly way possible and opening up her eyes to the possibilities of experiencing life in a different way. Like a snowstorm Sawyer & Lucian are swept up in the feelings that develop quickly between them.
Just how long will Lucian keep his fangs at bay?
Will Sawyer unwrap her perfect gift… a tall dark and deadly gift?

This was a great festive read to the Black Magic series, about finding out what you could have if only you have a Christmas wish.
I liked how Sawyer was weary and didn’t jump straight into Lucian’s arms. Sawyer hasn’t had a great start in life, trying to make something out of nothing and now finding herself in this predicament. She’s no damsel in distress and fights Lucian…but, there is only so much a girl can take before she lets down her guard and sees Lucian for who he is, fangs and all!
Sawyer becomes the saving grace that Lucian never knew he needed. I really liked how he came across, wanting to provide a perfect Christmas for Sawyer and how his natural vampire instincts came in.

What a fun little surprise!
I screamed a little when I saw this surprise release from M.L. and I instantly knew I was going to love it.
Set in the same world and Dark Flame? Hell yeah. Obsessed vampire? DOUBLE hell yeah!
The way Lucian was done for writhing seconds was perfection. This man was willing to lie, steal and cheat his way into Sawyer’s heart. I lived for his devotion and desire for her and I was so damned happy with his revenge, because sometimes death is the answer.
And Sawyer? Loved her. She was brave even if sometimes a little dumb, but that’s desperation for you. She finally accepted her fate, her feelings and her attraction and the heat and spice we got was immaculate. I liked that she took her time to think, but not too much.
Plus that little glimpse of Harllow and Alec made me thirsty for a reread and ever more excited for Dark Mist!

Not bad, but it wasn’t holding my attention. Likely doesn’t help I haven’t read this author/world before, but it said it would be fine as a standalone. Technically it was, but it felt more like a promotion for the Black Magick series she has connected to this book than a full book of its own. Like it was clear that we were breezing past things you would know more about if you at least read the first in the connected series.
Sawyer and Lucien had some nice moments, but with it being a novella and with as many scenes as we get, there isn’t as much real character growth. Though Lucien does prove he wants to give Sawyer anything she desires, that he’s offering a life of companionship and travel that she’d always wanted, which I do appreciate.

So this started off so compelling but by the middle of the book everything feels.... sterile?
There's no real bonding or romance and the smut scenes, while detailed didn't feel hot or engaged enough for me. I really didn't see why they liked each other at all and by the end I was already bored. Personally I think this needed more fire, more connection and more detailed smut. it wasn't terrible or anything, but just felt like a letdown to me.

A unique take on a Christmas novella combined with a paranormal romance. Honestly was a quick and entertaining read but the characters weren’t quite substantial enough for me to really solidify their relationship and motives in the storyline itself.
This was a really good quick pallet cleanser though and perfect for the chilly season!

A quick and fun Christmas read! Sawyer finally takes a holiday and ends up held captive by Lucian, a vampire who decides he’s going to keep her at all costs.
This was a fun novella and the story and characters felt complete for the length. I enjoyed the story and the world and will be adding the Black Magick series to my TBR.

3.5⭐️ (rated lower because it’s a novella) I LOVED this! Short, spicy, and nothing too complicated. A quick read, Lucian was obsessed with Sawyer right away, so there wasn’t a ton of build up but still good. Definitely planning to read more on the world by this another!

This wasn’t on my TBR Christmas reading list but I just finished Silent Night by this author and couldn’t resist.
Sawyer has lived a miserable life which hasn’t improved one iota since becoming an adult. Our girl suffers from wanderlust but feels it will never be fulfilled due to the never ending poverty that makes up her existence. She scrimps and saves for several years in order to take a Christmas holiday in the Canadian Rockies. Her tin can of a car doesn’t survive an encounter with a moose and she finds herself bloodied and incapable of leaving the scene of the accident.
Now the blood is very important as Lucian, a vampire living in somewhat close proximity, smells it and intends to take advantage of her predicament. He’s confused when he finds himself unwilling to partake of this meal ready to eat situation and instead brings her to the cabin where he’s residing.
Lucian eventually realizes that Sawyer is his mate and uses great patience and discretion to convince her of his sincerity and gain her affection. It’s a Christmas miracle, I tell you.
