Billionaire Under The Christmas Lights: A Christmas Billionaire Romance

Rate this book
A billionaire who wishes he wasn't and the girl he never knew existed.

Billionaire philanthropist Jordan Bradford would rather forget the billionaire part. Too bad that’s what allows him to do the charity work he’s passionate about. When his business manager suggests he host a fundraiser dinner at his home, he would rather spend a week in Africa without a shower. But once he’s convinced he needs to bring others on board for his vision he agrees to the party.

Holly Matthews is desperate to grow her new interior decorating business over the holidays so she doesn’t have to go back to work for her old firm. All she needs is one big job to get her name out there. If only her client wasn’t the guy who barely noticed her in high school.

Will she ever be able to convince him he’s more than money before the holiday is over?

Would you enjoy reading it again:
No. It's the basic Christmas rom-com formula without humor and much details. *SPOILERS* SUMMARY: A girl is decorates houses for Christmas and she has to decorate a house for a billionaire; she went to high school with the billionaire and he was nice to her while working on a group project but then ignored her once the group project was done - and so she dislikes him. While decorating his (family's) house for Christmas, they work together where she realizes how charasmatic and nice he is; he helps her with her business and they are happy over how incredible the house looks. Once the house is done being decorated, they want to date but are coy about it. She ends up saying they are from two different worlds and they will never be able to work out - but she later finds him volunteering at a soup kitchen, proving that they can operate in the same world. They end up saying they love each other. - 1

Did you enjoy the plot:
It was bad but I kept reading through it and it was good enough to keep me reading. It felt rushed and there wasn't much chemistry between the two. There wasn't anything unique to the plot - 2

Did you enjoy the writing style:
Not really. There was no humor, no descriptive environment or anything I could truly imagine, the dialogue felt clunky and they spoke what they felt rather than feeling it- 2

Good ending?
Very predictable and boring. It felt rushed that they said they loved each other so quickly- 2

Format: audiobook (2x) while lifting
Average rating: 2 stars.

The twinkling lights at home didn't compare with sitting with her Billionaire under the stars in Africa

Jordan and Holly's love story is fantastic. They are so different, yet they are so much alike. They meet in high school and do a science project together, taking first place. They did not become friends at that time. Now, she owns an interior decorating company and he needs a decorator to decorate for a charity Christmas party at his home. He and his brother and parents own a publishing company. His brother Logan is engaged to Eva from the previous book. His business manager, Richard, is the cousin of her best friend, Lisa. Richard arranges for Holly to decorate Jordan's home. As they spend time together at his home and shopping, they fall in love. She does not see how she can fit into his world as he is a Billionaire. They bond over his charity work and he proposes and she says, Yes.
Holly, I loved Christmas this year, but it's because of you. I've loved everything about the holiday this year. But most of all, Holly, I love you. Oh Jordan, I love you, too. I love that you care so much and you want to help people. I have loved every moment of this Christmas spent with you.
He pulled her to himself. Their eyes locked and Jordan was sure he could see the future there. He closed the distance between them, and their lips met for the first time. She responded with equal intensity.
"Jordan, I want to be with you". Jordan kissed her again. "That's the only Christmas gift I'll ever need."
"Holly you've shown me a love that I never could have imagined, and I'm beyond happy that you want to share in the work that I do. I love you". He knelt down on one knee, presenting the ring to her. "Holly, will you marry me?" "Yes, Jordan yes".
As the African wilderness whispered around them, Holly dreamed of their future together, filled with love, adventure, and the shared purpose of making a difference in the world.

Hannah Jo has written another blessed book about being a Billionaire, working for charities, owning an interior decorating business and of course, falling in love. I recommend this and all of Hannah Jo's books to everyone, I received this book from the publisher. All thoughts and comments are my own.

Billionaire Under The Christmas Lights is a Cinderella story for Holly, a decorator that is trying to get her business going so she does not have to go back to work at the decorating company she started at. She kept telling herself she only needed one big client to get the word out. When a friend of hers heard that Jordan, billionaire son of the Bradford Publishing Company empire, needs to decorate his home for a charity event before Christmas he tells the assistant about how great Holly is and gives him her number. This is what she had been wishing for. The one big client to get her business off the ground. She is so excited she goes the following day to his home as the assistant gave her keys so she could take photos and make a list of what she needed. Running into Jordan in sweats and had the just out of bed look, he was a little grumpy towards her. She remembers him from school but he doesn't remember her. She felt like she was back in the rich kids school on scholarship and didn't belong.

But when Jordan started talking to her later and remembered about the science project they did together in high school, she could see he had a giving heart as he loved his foundation to help the people in Africa. They started to feel more comfortable around each other, and Jordan started to want to help decorate or do anything around Holly. As they were talking, Jordan keeps telling her he wants to do more charity work and she suggested to take on a charity near home. They worked together to throw a party for 10 needy families in the community for Christmas. It is a fulfilling success. The night of the charity fundraiser for his Africa foundation went off as a success and Holly received many requests for decorating jobs. But when the party is over and everyone has left Jordan acts different towards her. Holly doesn't know if he is just tired of if her job is over and so is the friendship. It is high school all over again!

This is a wonderful, quick read and a sweet story about the magic of Christmas.

Holly wanted to be a successful business owner. All she needed was one job that would get her name out there to get more clients. When she finds out the "big job" she got was working for the billionaire that she went to high school with and who basically ignored her, she's a little worried that it won't work out well for her.

Jordan came from money. His first love is his charity work in Africa. He isn't made to be stuck in an office directing the charity from the States. He wants to be in the thick of it. He is asked to hold a holiday fundraising event at his home and he needs an interior decorator to bring his sterile home up to the level he needs it to be for the fundraiser. He doesn't recognize Holly from high school but soon he begins to enjoy every minute they spend together. She is a new light in his life. Can he convince her that he is just a regular guy with a lot of money in his bank account?

This story was a quick read but has all the wonderful feels of a beautiful Christmas story and romance.

I was given an arc copy of this book and I willingly offer my honest review.

Great read on the opposite lifestyles coming together. Holly, who was named appropriately for Christmas and her deep love for this season and in sharing this love with all, especially those who are having a rough time or struggling in life and helping them out by serving in food and visiting with them as they eat.

Holly met billionaire Jordon at a rough time for her and starting her business, home interior decorating. She took on his bleak and plain mansion of home and transformed it into a warm, beautiful Christmas home with special welcoming nooks and corners. Everyone loved and enjoyed this work for Jordon's charity fundraiser and Jordan found himself helping to decorate and make it cold home into a warm, loving atmosphere with Holly.

Jordan loved his charity work in Africa more then his life in the States and always had his heart settled there. Holly's free loving and giving personality blended well with Jordan and she loved to give back as much as he did and the two had a ride in getting together. Enjoyed this clean read very much and looking forward to reading more books by Hannah Jo

Jordan and Holly knew each other back in high school. When Jordan's business manager sells him on an idea to do a fundraiser for his charity, he also tells Jordan to call Holly. Jordan leaves it up to his manager to make all of the arrangements. When Holly introduces herself to Jordan on her first day on the job, she doesn't tell him they've met before. Jordan finally figures it out for himself. The more time he spends with Holly, the more time he wants to spend with her. Holly thinks Jordan has changed since high school, but she also feels like he's stayed the same, in that when her work for him is done, he'll go back to his life, and leave her to go back to hers. Holly finally figures out that she's been pushing him away, but is it too late for them when she realizes she does want a future with him? This book didn't have as much of a faith element as I love to read about, especially in Hannah Jo's books. I missed it. It was still good, just lacking some.

I received a complimentary copy of this book, was not required to leave a review, and the opinion expressed is my own.

Hope has left her job at the large design firm and started out on her own. She knows that she just needs one big job to get her name out there. Jordan is from a billionaire family. He runs the non-profit side of the business. He'd rather be building wells in Africa than sitting behind a desk in the city.

When Jordan's assistant tells him that the best way to raise money is to hold a fundraiser, it is so close to Christmas that venues are booked and decorators. Hope is hired to decorate his home.

Hope and Jordan actually went to the same private high school Hope was on scholarship. She remembers Jordan, but he only vaguely remembers her. As they work together, Hope sees the down-to-earth side of Jordan and not just the stuffy corporate side. Jordan loves spending time with Hope. She makes him see all the little things he can do to help others.

Hope feels that Jordan only sees her as an employee. Jordan has to convince Hope that he needs her by his side for more than just decorating his house for Christmas. Great story!

Great addition to this clean Christmas series by Hannah Jo Abbott.
Jordan is a billionaire whose family runs a world renowned publishing company, but his true heart is with his charity Oasis Health Africa. The only way he’s been able to get a good start on his charity is with the help of the family business.
Holly is struggling with her interior design company, but isn’t ready to give up her dream.
Jordan’s assistant is the cousin of Holly’s best friend and recommends Holly to decorate his house for a Christmas charity event.
As they work together they realize the needs of others are so very important.

I had an ARC for this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. Jordan Bradford didn’t want to work in the family business so he started a charity in order to help in Africa. When it’s suggested he host a party at his house in order to increase donations to his charity, he hires Holly Mathews to decorate the empty house. As it turns out he and Holly went to high school together. He is inspired by her ideas and decorating skill, and they are drawn to each other. A super fun to read Christmas book with elements of faith and cooperation in the plot. I highly recommend it.

This was such a fun story to read.  I liked that the story took place at Christmas and Holly had a chance to turn Jordan's house into a beautiful home filled with the Christmas spirit.  It was fun picturing the transformation of the house and Jordan before the Gala for the Oasis Health Africa foundation.  I liked how Holly seemed to understand who Jordan really was and helped him to enjoy Christmas once again.  I enjoyed the perfect ending to the book because it happened in Africa.  I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

A sweet Christmas story. Holly and Jordan come from very different backgrounds. Holly works very hard for everything she has while Jordan is a billionaire and funds charity work in Africa. When they spend time working on local charities together, Holly realizes how fortunate she is. As their relationship develops they both become aware of how much they enjoy working together to help others.
Great characters and well written.

The magic of Christmas

4.5 stars. A short sweet holiday stories about finding meaning and making a difference with their lives. Jordan and Holly worked on a project together in high school and then went their separate ways as they were entirely different circles. When she was asked to decorate his home for Christmas events they reconnected, but we’re their lives too different?

Jordan has a charitable heart. Despite leading an opulent lifestyle, he had empathy for the poor. Holly was just beginning her own company, therefore she was never particularly impressed by money. She got more interested in assisting with charitable activities once she and Jordan reconnected. This tale of love and giving hearts was very lovely. I adore Christmas tales, and this one did not let me down. I heartily endorse this book. This author did an amazing job.

Really cute Christmas story. Holly and Jordan are a great couple. They get along well and Holly infuses Jordan with the true Christmas spirit. Because of Jordan, Holly discovers a love for charity work. Well written characters and good storyline. I enjoyed reading this.

This is my voluntary review of a copy I received from the author.

They hit it off right away, but he doesn't remember that the same thing happened when they were in high school. She remembers, and worries that he'll drop her for the “popular crowd” like he did back then.

The story was a fun holiday story. A great remember that Christmastime is about more than presents.

Billionaire Under the Christmas Lights is a clean, heartwarming, inspirational romance for Holly and Jordan, two people who have servant hearts but who come from very different backgrounds. Once I started reading, I could not put the book down. I thoroughly enjoyed their journey to love and discovery of their place in the world!

I listened to this on YouTube. Thanks for making it available. I really like Holly and Jordan. They each are dealing with different challenges as their lives intersect this Christmas. This is a fun Christmas story showing both great opportunities and the way we sometimes think things or people are different from who they really are.

A very heartwarming story. Misconceptions and old memories. As they meet again, years after their times in high school , everything seemed the same, but different. Maybe growing up then meeting again gave the memories reality instead of just hurts. They both had a real love for helping people with needs. It took a while to realize it didn’t always take money to accomplish that.

Wonderful story where Logan Bradford's brother Jordan gets his own story. He is really into helping people in Africa as well as in the United States which is a great character train. I like how Jordan and Holly help each other in the various situations they get into. Such a wonderful quick read with an interesting story line.
