Okay, I haven't read this book. So this is not a review, but I read a couple reviews that said that the mmc married the fmc's mom So he can prove a point in court against his ex-wife that's accusing him of being a predator and a pervert.
so marrying another woman with a teenage daughter would give him a solid case in court of being a dotting father. EXCEPT he develops feelings for her daughter and pursues her ?😂😂😂 that's actually hilarious.
at least there was nothing between him and the mom lol
and so i guess the 18 year old fmc is gonna be his minor kids's step mom? his daughter who's only a couple years younger than her? or his eldest son who's older than her ?😂😂😂😂 i'm having a field day with the sheer ridiculousness of this book

✨My Review ✨

I’ve been in the longest book rut of my life and absolutely devoured this book. Storyline gave very telenovela drama and I loved it!

Haven’t loved a K Webster book like this since Hale!

My only critique is I would’ve preferred the heroine be older tbh. Not a fan of the teen girl grown man trope.

When it comes to age-gap taboo, K Webster is the author I am going to turn to first. That’s been the case for almost a decade, and I don’t see that changing any time soon. That being said, sometimes, she doesn’t quite hit the “edgy” mark that I have come to expect from her with her “taboo treats”. This is one of those times. The story was … plain? UGH, I don’t know what word to use but it didn’t have that edgy spark that she normally delivers. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed this and it was well written for a fast-paced-insta story, but … *sigh*

It's been a minute since I’ve read any story by Kristi and maybe this is how she writes her “treats” now. I don’t know, but even if she has “grown”, the title along for this story “screams” edgy and it just wasn’t there.

So, on to the next “treat” and see how that goes!

His Wife's Daughter was a quick and surprisingly sweet, taboo romance. I was hooked from the start and finished this novella in one sitting.

Owen is dealing with his psychotic ex-wife trying to take him to court for custody of their kids. She is trying to defame his character, using his sleepwalking condition, saying he cannot provide a safe environment for their children. His sleep therapist offers a marriage of convenience because she also needs his help financially.

Her 18 year old daughter is shocked to learn of the marriage when she comes home from visiting her father. Owen feels for her situation and just wants to make her feel at home with his family. He tries to offer more support and attention because her mother his very distant. The more time they spend together, the more he gets attached emotionally and physically.

I could really feel their connection and chemistry, even though this is a short story. I loved how they both supported each other. There were some really sweet moments.

I docked half a star because I just thought the whole way this marriage of convenience happened felt so unlikely and it was a weird/abrupt conversation when they decided to do this. I also thought there would have been a little fallout when the stepdaughter/stepfather relationship was revealed and everyone was just fine with it.

Still enjoyed this and I am definitely interested to read his oldest son's book.

Thank you to K Webster for providing the ARC.

"I'm attracted to my stepfather...
What is wrong with me?"

I adore K. Webster's stories, and I was intrigued by the idea of a stepfather-stepdaughter romance!!!
It was a nice read... a little bit more sweeter than I had expected and from time to time, it felt kind of unrealistic!!!
Yep, this was a small treat and it was delicious, but at the same time, it wasn't something special that i won't stop thinking about when I will finish it!!!

Owen had made a marriage of convinience with Mei's mother, who was kind of a bitch!!!
Mei got enamored with Owen from the very first moment and their story, at least to me, didn't feel so taboo-ish... It felt kind of natural!!!! So I wasn't very impressed, as with many other stories by Kristy!!!
Still, I had a lovely evening reading this small story!!! A small treat indeed!!!

**I received an ARC for the exchange of an honest review**

This was a quick and cute read. I’m 50/50 on it because while it was very loving and sweet what Mei and Owen had, Mei pissed me off a lot of the book questioning why Owen was so hot and cold with her as if it wasn’t a big deal that he wasn’t only her step father aka mothers husband, but also way older than her🙃.

His Wife's Daughter by K. Webster

4.5/5 stars

Oh yes, I am on a K. Webster roll. Sorry people, I am just devouring her books!

His Wife's Daughter really took me by surprise. In all honesty I suspected a filthy, smutty story but Kristi gave us so much more. It's still a relative short story, but I really liked how it was set up and how the story and characters were built and progressed throughout the entire book.

Owen is in court facing his ex-wife who is out to destroy him. They share 3 kids together and 2 are still minors. She is set out to set him up for doing improper things with his daughter but luckily the judge isn't stupid and is very fair. Right after court he goes to Dr. Jin Lau, he has severe sleeping(sleep-walking) problems, and together they are trying to combat those with medications.

The second he joins her he notices something is off about Jin Lau and suddenly she opens up about having financial problems and he opens up about his troubles with his ex-wife. She suddenly proposes a fake marriage so he can present a solid front to the judge that he isn't some sick predator and she gets the financial backing she needs to save the house of the woman that babysits her daughter. He agrees and they get married the same day.

Lin and her daughters move in with Owen and his three kids. But Mei, Lin's oldest, is getting completely blindsided by her mother and is shocked she got married. Her mother and father always treated her with distance and were rather absent. They love her, but then don't express it. Suddenly she has to share a room with Addison, Owen's daughter, and she cannot help but admire her new stepfather from afar.

Owen sees Mei's broken heart and he instantly opens up to her and wants to be there for her. He gives her hugs and supports her. But right from the get go sweet Owen feels disgusted that he feels more for her. And as she helps him several times when he sleepwalks they grow infinitely close. He even steps up being there for her little sister.

Their psychological connection is what truly pushed this story forwards. Owen never knew love and both his marriages were love-less. And all he craves is for someone to truly love. Mei hasn't felt love all her life so naturally they gravitate towards each other. They take care of each other and are each other's support system. But their connection burns way too bright and when something happens they cannot help by giving in to each other.

And goodness gracious this story scorched me! Owen and Mei are pure fire and they combust into one tight, unbreakable unit. Ready to go through hell for one another.

The entire family also has to deal with a nasty stalker. And Jin Lau's love life bursts out of the shadows and suddenly everything changes.

I normally would give this book 5 stars. But entire, and for me very important parts, are skipped over in the end. Their relationship is a secret and poof the next chapter it's out in the open and everyone is one big happy family. I really wanted to see the reaction of Jin to her husband and daughter suddenly dating. Or how Owen's children reacted to their father loving a girl near their age. Yes she is 18. But it's still a huge age gap and normally a few brows would get raised. So I really missed some insight and depth into that part of the story. So that's why I am giving it 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Still another gem by K. Webster that I'll absolutely reread in the future. ♥

This book surprised. I went in expecting something purely taboo and provocative (which K Webster is so good at), but His Wife’s Daughter turned out to be far more emotionally layered and character driven than I anticipated. Yes, it is forbidden and intense (and some might find the relationship dynamic not to their taste), but at its core, it is a story about loneliness, longing, and two people finding something they have never truly had before. Unconditional love.

Owen is in the middle of a brutal divorce, battling a sleepwalking disorder that worsens under stress, and fighting to protect his reputation and his children from a vindictive ex wife. When his doctor, Jin Lau, proposes a marriage of convenience to help both of their situations, it feels like a practical, temporary solution. A marriage on paper, shared space for appearances, nothing more. Of course, nothing about it stays simple.

Jin’s daughter, Mei, is blindsided by the sudden marriage and the instant blending of families. She has grown up emotionally neglected, used to being alone and quietly responsible for her younger sister. Mei is introspective, guarded, and achingly lonely, and her struggle to find her place in this new household is heartbreaking. While Owen’s family is warm and close knit, Mei feels like an outsider, unsure where she belongs.

Owen, for his part, is gentle, nurturing, and instinctively protective. He sees Mei’s pain immediately and becomes a steady presence for her, offering comfort in ways no one ever has. Their bond deepens through quiet moments and shared vulnerability, especially when Mei is the one guiding Owen to safety during his sleepwalking episodes. The emotional connection between them develops long before anything physical, and that emotional intimacy is what truly drives the story.

This is not just a forbidden romance for shock value. Though it certainly is salaicious too. It is about two people who have lived without real love finally recognizing it in each other. Their connection feels intense because it fills a void neither of them knew how to name. When they do cross the line, the chemistry is explosive and deeply consuming, but it is rooted in emotional need as much as desire. But the lusty deliciousness is there too.

There are additional layers of tension with a stalking subplot and unresolved threads in Jin’s personal life, which keep the story moving and raise the stakes. While the book is relatively short, the pacing works well for most of the narrative. Though I think it could have benefitted from more length to the develop the characters individually a bit more and to make the ending and relationship progression feel more substantive, to let us saturate in it a bit more. Significant emotional fallout is glossed over too quickly in the ending. I wanted to see the reactions, the confrontation, and the discomfort that would naturally come with such a relationship being revealed. It's kind of a trope expectation for a story like this, where a lot of the "meat" comes into play and makes it feel more HEA vs. HFN. Those moments felt important, and skipping them took away some of the depth and realism the story had built so well.

Even with that shortcoming, this was a sexy and also emotionally charged read that is a quick binge. His Wife’s Daughter is provocative and unexpectedly tender, and it showcases K. Webster’s ability to turn taboo into something deeply human.

This was such a sweet taboo read. Mei and Owen are really obsessed with each other but not in a dark possessive way, more of an old romance at heart kind of way. Owen was always respectful… until he wasn’t 😏😉 Mei, as timid as she seemed, went after and pushed Owen for wha she wanted.

**Spoilers⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️
Owen is still fight his ex-wife Leah in court for marital assets. They are divorced and had pre-nups in place, but Leah is conniving and hateful wanting to get the house (it was earned by his business during their marriage and the pre-nup said he could keep it). And even though she doesn’t care either way, she wants the kids away from him because he wants them. They have 3, Rhett is the oldest and 21, Addison is 16 and Cason is 15. Leah also tries to use his sleep walking against him and cause him of being a p3do because he wakes up in random places. (He has woken up in their daughter’s room and one of the foster kids’ room, but NOTHING happened).
The judge dismisses Leah’s case and Owen goes to his sleep doctor appointment with Dr. Jin Lau. Jin proposes they get married out of convenience- he needs stable relationship to confirm he isn’t a hazard to his kids (because of his sleep walking) and she needs more income to secure a loan for her babysitter, Carol’s house. Jin has 2 daughters, Mei (18) and Penny (2). They both agree, just for show and keep separate rooms.
Mei comes home after 2 weeks spending time with her father to her mother being married and moved in with Owen and his family. Mei feels left out or like the third wheel. She is very close with Penny (Jin isn’t an emotional mother and although she loves her daughters, she is distant). Addison has become close with Penny and Mei feels replaced.
Owen tries to make Mei feel welcome. Trying to include Mei in everything. When he sleepwalks, Mei tries to help him back to bed.
They grown an attraction to each other and one night they cross the line, heavily making out. It gets interrupted and Owen tells her it was a mistake. Mei understands but is also upset. Mei begins to suspect Jin is lying about something because she is being sneaky. Mei overhears a phone call with Jin. She tells the other person they can’t be together in public and have to be careful. Christopher, Carol the babysitter’s son - who is a cop, seems awfully close and protective of Penny.
Leah has a PI (who is a jerk and crosses the line a lot) follow Mei, Jin and Penny.
Owen sits Jin down and she finally confesses Christopher is Penny’s father but as he is running for sheriff, it would be a scandal. He and Jin had a one night stand, even though she knew he was married. She got pregnant and after Penny arrived, Christopher divorced his wife. But all would know he was a cheater if he got with Jin after they did the math.
Owen and Mei finally say F it and give in.
Owen goes to court to fight Leah one last time. The judge orders Leah to knock it off.
They get married and Mei has a baby. Everyone is happy.

Wow!! Did I feel ALL the things for both Mei and Owen.

Owen is caught in the midst of a terrible divorce, he suffers with a condition that causes him to sleepwalk and stress only exacerbates it. Dr. Jin Lau is treating him for his sleepwalking and it's at his appointment where she proposes that they could benefit one another out of their perspective binds. It's a quick solution for both of them if they were married, on paper only, but for optics they would still need to provide a united front, hence, living under the same roof. It's a win-win and Owen soon finds himself married again.

Jin's daughter, Mei, only finds out about this quicky wedding, along with her new step-siblings when she returns from visiting her father. Mei has never had a close bond with her mom and the lonely, abandonment feelings roll off this girl in huge waves. It killed me how alone Mei was, and it wasn't because those around her weren't making an effort. It was just the life she was used to living under her mother's roof. While Owen's family is tight, warm and welcoming, it was hard for her to find her new place, except for the strong pull she felt towards her mom's husband. A pull she tried her best to ignore, at first. While she would have logically had more in common with Owen's oldest son, who was the same age and also attending college, Mei was just an old soul, and most likely due to spending so much time alone. Boy could I relate to her. She also spent a lot of time parenting her baby sister who was only two years old. The age difference between siblings was also another relatable aspect I connected with. Mei just hit me on a lot of levels.

As for Owen, he's a huge cinnamon roll, with major vibes of wanting to take care of everyone he comes into contact with. So while Owen knows it's wrong to desire the young woman, especially since she has her entire life ahead of her, Mei didn't make it easy on him. When Owen awakens from sleepwalking, either outside or right on the cusp of heading into the snowy weather, she's right by his side, trying to guide him back to safety. Mei's sweet smiles ignite a burning inside of him that he hasn't felt for years. Owen really does try to ignore those burning desires, but it doesn't take long for these two to ignite the flames of passion.

This story is so much more than just forbidden. It's two souls finally finding the right person, after suffering heartache and loneliness. I also loved how past taboo characters popped up as the story went along and I can't wait to see where this world takes me next.

His Wife’s Daughter by K. Webster is a sexy taboo romance between Owen Monahan and Mei Lau. He is a single dad and she is his new wife’s daughter so it’s an age gap, forbidden relationship. This is a quick read about temptation and morally grey decisions but there is also secrets and suspense amongst the blurred lines which intensifies the story.

Owen is struggling and under constant pressure from his vindictive ex wife. She is determined to destroy him and they are currently in a custody battle over their three children. When stressed Owen sleepwalks and does weird stuff so she is using using his sleep disorder against him and accusing him of being unstable. He’s tired of fighting her and feels losing control. Dr Jin Lau is his sleep specialist who is also in a predicament, her financial situation is threatening someone who means a lot to her. She suggests a marriage of convenience would be mutually beneficial and solve both their problems, especially as no intimacy involved.

Owen worries at first he might have made the biggest mistake of his life with this complicated arrangement but the two families get on well when they move into his house to keep up the facade. He is a loving and caring father who embraces the new chaotic situation. When Jin’s adult daughter Mei returns from visiting to her father, things start to change and get complicated. Mei is shocked as knew nothing about the marriage and has been uprooted to live with strangers. She immediately crushes on Owen and can’t believe he’s the first man she reacts to.

Owen senses she is sad and sees how little attention she gets from her mother so his protective instincts kick in. He comforts her as feels bad for her and takes care of her as she’s upset. He is as kind and thoughtful towards her as he is to his own children. Their connection is instantaneous and as they get to know each other, the temptation builds but Owen knows the growing desire is wrong. He is tempted by the one woman he can’t have but she is also thinking naughty thoughts about him. She helps him when sleep walking and ignites something inside him that he’s never felt before. There is too much at stake but could he cross the forbidden line. As their relationship begins so does the suspense part of the story. Hidden information emerges, secrets are revealed
and a stalker causes the family problems.

I liked Owen’s children and thought Mei’s sister Penny was adorable. It was fun seeing Savvy from Room For Three. For a quick read, the author definitely packs a lot in. The story shows how circumstances can put a person in a difficult position. Owen and Mei are two lonely people who find each other due to an unusual situation. Their relationship may be wrong to some people but they are a perfect match. I felt sorry for what Owen had gone through and was pleased he and Mei find the happiness they both deserve. This is the first book in the Taboo Sneaks series and we get a good teaser for the next one about Owen’s son Rhett.

Genre: Contemporary Romance
Type: Standalone novella 1 from Taboo Sneaks series
POV: First person - dual
Rating:

Owen Monahan was hanging by a thread after becoming the target of his bitter ex-wife. Being in a desperate situation herself, his sleep specialist, Dr. Jin Lau, offered a lifeline that would be mutually beneficial. But what was supposed to be a straightforward arrangement turned complicated when her daughter, Mei, came back to town.

Owen was under a lot of pressure, but he handled it well, and I liked how protective he was not only to his own family, but also new ones. Mei had felt alone all her life, and I was glad she found someone who appreciated her.

The story is fast-paced, with secrets and elements of suspense that enhance the plot. I also liked the variety of supporting characters.

His Wife's Daughter is a story of finding one's own happiness. It would appeal to readers who enjoy a quick, age-gap read.

★☆☆☆☆ hard no.

I was initially willing to squint past the sleepwalking angle of Owen in this book. Then I read Room for Three , and the blinders came off. Owen doesn’t deserve sympathy arcs or romantic framing. He deserves consequences. Jail feels like the bare minimum.

Disorder doesn’t excuse behavior. Ever. Especially not when the response is manipulation and quiet threats instead of accountability and safety. The emotional coercion to keep her silent. The aftermath is the crime scene. The whispers. The “don’t tell or you’ll ruin my life.” The way authority is used like a chokehold without leaving marks.

For my justification i'll just put this here from Savvy's book:

“There was only one time that really scared me,” she whispers. “I’d gone to the bathroom in the middle of the night. When I returned, he was in my bed. Naked.”

He grabbed me like this.” Her hand slides off the pillow and up my chest. When it encircles my throat, I see red. “I think he was worried I’d tell on him or something. It wasn’t painful, but it was a firm grip that made me gasp for air. He said that it was an accident but if anyone found out, it would ruin his life and tear apart his family.” She sniffles.

“He was so close it was rubbing against my leg. While he whispered how much it would harm him for others to know, I was worried he’d do something worse. But then, as quickly as it began, he released my neck, kissed my forehead, and then left the bedroom.” Owen flashes me one of his signature grins that used to warm me until I realized his nighttime problem. Until he rubbed his cock on me while in a sleepy trance. Now he makes my skin crawl.

This one is after Savvy left the family and Owen and his family came to the diner where she was working:

Owen steps behind me as I’m taking an order, placing his hand on my lower back. He whispers in my ear. “You’re doing great, Savvy. I paid cash. The leftover amount is your tip. Have fun, dear.”

I squeak when he pats my ass and then walks away.

K. Webster is about one of the best when it comes to taboo writing. she throws all her heart and soul into these books and they will leave you satisfied in the most disturbing way ;).

In this story we get a man who is probably in his 40's who is having a bitter battle in court over the kids and his ex-wife will stop at nothing to make him look like a bad father, but he was actually a very good father who is always there for his kids. Even though they share custody, she wants them solely for herself, but he's going to fight her to the bitter end. In comes in a friend of his who made a convenient suggestion that would actually help them both out in both of their situations because it seems like she's in a pickle herself.

They get married quickly and she moves in, then her daughter Mey comes back from visiting her father in Missouri and finds herself with a surprise she never imagined. Mey lived sad and depressed because she feels unloved, unwanted and as if she was a nuisance. Mey is the sweetest girl who looks after her baby sister and thought that her mother would change when she saw how much Mey cares for her sister ... but yeah right! Mey's mother does not have a loving bone in her body.

When she moves in with the new family, she's quiet at first but little by little everyone starts making her feel at home and like she belongs there. She finds herself attracted to her stepdad and she knows that's wrong, but he seems to be more caring and loving than her own mother.

As days pass, she finds herself more attached to him than she would like but that causes things to lead to more and even though he feels bad at first, he then realizes that he would love to have Mey as his because she's like no other woman he's ever been with. He has never slept with Mey's mother, it was strictly a marriage of convenience and once they can figure out what to do about his ex-wife, they can all get on with their lives happily ever.

It was a short read, and although it was short, I still found myself immersed in the story. I don't think I have ever read a book from this author that has not intrigued me.

I have been seeing this book around and even saved it for when the book went live. The day of I downloaded it and waited for the perfect opportunity to sit down do a quick read. Now, granted the title is what it is but throws you off when you see who the daughter is. I enjoyed this quick novella. I wish it was more of a book because so much left me thinking and could have been used for an amazing plot.

Owen (MMC) is going through a divorce and attending court hearings because his ex-wife wants full custody of their children. She is out for revenge and destroy his reputation. This alone causes him to stress tremendously and has to seek his sleep therapist for help since he sleepwalks and is getting worst. As he is at his appointment, his doctor is going through her own issues, and they both spark a small friendship but also decide to help each other. In the end the decision is to have a marriage of convivence until the dust settles. They marry, move both families in one house and pretend to be a happy married couple. In comes Mei (FMC), the doctors, daughter that comes in from her dads at a different state and has no idea her mother wed a stranger. The moment Mei, meets Owen, a small friendship develops but she also helps him during his sleepwalks in the middle of the night.

Owen is a very loving and doting father and accepts Mei into their home, but Mei and her mom have a strain relationship. The more Owen and Mie they talk and get to know each other; a spark ignites between them. They both fall hard quickly but as they keep their secret hidden, her mom has some of her own.

Overall, this quick book is enjoyable if you like the tropes such as age gap and forbidden. I am curious to see where this family goes, as the story continues with oldest son.

Okay, first things first: I was so relieved that Jin and Owen were never intimate. I don’t always mind that trope, but it can get messy fast, so I appreciated that their “marriage” stayed exactly what it was meant to be. Legal, convenient, and nothing more than a few surface-level PDA moments. All of Owen’s attention is on Mei from the second she comes home, and thankfully the book never tries to pretend otherwise.

Mei and Owen have this instant, undeniable pull that borders on obsession in the best way. The chemistry is there immediately, but what I liked is that the book doesn’t waste time pretending they aren’t both feeling it. Mei is sweet, curious, and very aware of the tension between them. Owen is broody, protective, and dangerously close to losing all self-control anytime she’s near him. The forced proximity adds fuel to the fire, and every look or brush of hands is loaded.

This was a fast, fun, deliciously taboo read. It leans hard into the forbidden age-gap tension, the sneaking around, the “we shouldn’t but we will again” dynamic, and honestly? It works. Watching Mei gain confidence and Owen slowly stop fighting the inevitable kept me hooked the whole way.

If you want:
• stepdad/stepdaughter (non-bio, marriage of convenience)
• big age-gap tension
• forbidden + sneaking around
• broody hero / sweet heroine
• fast pacing
• heavy chemistry
• no cliffhanger

…this will absolutely scratch the itch.

I enjoyed it a lot and devoured it in an hour. 😌🔥

Wow. Honestly when I saw this book was only 138 pages I never imagined just how much of a story it would be! It really read like a full length novel.

This was my first book from K. Webster and I will definitely be reading more. The subject of this book is definitely taboo, and without giving away too many secrets, I can say the daughter is of age when they first meet and there is no cheating between the FMC and MMC at all. I have to say I was so surprised at how awful of a mother Jin really was! So much emotional neglect…it was hard to read Mei’s story at times. At the end things improve but by this point Mei is a full grown adult…too little too late in my opinion.

I’m on pins and needles waiting for Savvy’s story next because honestly that was the only part of the story that was off putting to me….it was glossed over and I understand it will probably be addressed in her story but I want deets now! Haha.

Overall a quick, enjoyable, definitely taboo read. Also kudos to the author for her representation of sleep disorders.

Thank you to K. Webster and Chaotic Creatives for the ARC of this book

⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 Stars Overall
Tension: 🥵🥵 2/5
Spice Level: 🌶🌶🌶 3/5

Spicy Chapters: 10, 11, 13, epilogue
Number of Spicy Scenes: 4

This one was… fine. And I say that as someone who loves a good taboo read and usually devours K. Webster’s forbidden flings without hesitation. Unfortunately, this one just didn’t have the tension or chemistry I’ve come to expect from her.
The premise grabbed my attention and had all the makings of something deliciously scandalous. But the execution fell flat for me. The relationship felt rushed, the buildup was minimal, and instead of simmering tension, we got a lukewarm connection that never quite sparked.

I’ll admit, I’ve been side-eyeing a little because she’s been releasing monthly shorts on an app, and some of those kept me way more invested than this novella. I hope she’s not stretching herself too thin, because when she hits, she hits.

That said, don’t judge her storytelling based on this one. She has plenty of bangers under her belt, and they can’t all be perfect. This just wasn’t my forbidden fling.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

This is the story of Mei and Owen. If you looking for super taboo then I don't know that I thought that was this. It is a age gap romance about two people who are coming from pretty much terrible and sometimes loveless situations who find what they need in each other. Owen has an ex wife that is trying to take his kids away. When his therapist suggest something crazy that could benefit them both they both jump at the chance. Then along come his therapist Lin's daughter from her father's house. She has no clue her mom has moved and gotten married. But, the second she meets Owen she is attracted to him. She is a grown young lady who has never felt like she has ever been love. Her parents pretty much ignore her. I loved that we got to get the story of not only Mei and Owen, but Lin and her situation too is resolved and you get a double happy ending. I loved everything about this story. It is so much more than your expecting.

Filthy, Forbidden, and Addictively Wrong

K. Webster does not hold back in this scorching, taboo age-gap romance — and I devoured every sinful page.

A marriage of convenience between Owen and Jin explodes into a house full of temptation when Mei....(Jin's 18 year old daughter ) comes home, and from that moment on, the tension is feral. The stolen glances, the lingering touches, the aching restraint it all builds into a delicious slow-burn that had me holding my breath.

This book thrives on forbidden desire. Owen is broody, damaged, and desperate to protect what little he has left and Mai is sweet, curious, and far too tempting for a man who should absolutely not want her. Their chemistry is off-the-charts hot, emotionally charged, and morally messy in the best way. If you love taboo romance, sneaking around, protective older men, and younger heroines who awaken something dangerous, this book will wreck you — and you’ll beg for more.

I do love reading just about all Forbidden Romances. It’s messy, and I enjoy messy. And if it’s a shorter story, even better. K. Webster delivers with His Wife’s Daughter. On the surface, it appears to be the typical stepdad x stepdaughter forbidden romance. But there are layers to this one. Readers are getting the marriage of convenience, a blended family, OW drama in the form of a nasty ex-wife, and some mystery/suspense. Who is this strange man following their family, taking pictures of them? And why? And the daughter’s Mom, what’s she hiding? All that unfolds and more. Not to mention all that K. Webster spice! I also liked how Owen’s (MMC) kids have roles in the story that may lead to something more in the future.

Thank you to Author K. Webster for the gifted e-copy. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

His Wife’s Daughter, written by K. Webster, is a taboo age-gap MF romance featuring a single dad and his wife’s daughter with a HEA.

The book follows Owen, a single dad who marries his sleep doctor out of convenience. What he didn’t expect was to fall for Mei, his 18-year-old step-daughter. I expected this to be a spicy and completely filthy book, but it really shocked me.

Owen’s connection with Mei is something he had not experienced in either of his marriages. The kindness and openness she shows him draw him in, and in return, she is shown the affection she has never had.

I know, because of the book's size, the story would be rushed a bit, but I wish we had more time with the secret and taboo territory.

Thanks to K. Webster for gifting me an eARC of His Wife’s Daughter. I am leaving this review voluntarily. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I’ll be honest, I was very wary of reading a story centered on Owen. When we first met him in Room For Three, he wasn’t exactly shown in the best light, and I wasn’t sure I even wanted his POV.

But this book? Complete redemption.

Owen was never a bad man just misunderstood, dealing with a medical condition, and trapped in a marriage to an absolute witch. Seeing his side changed everything and added so much depth to his character.

And then there’s Mei who is only eighteen, yet carrying the maturity and responsibilities of someone twice her age. Her mom enters a contract marriage with Owen for mutual benefit, and from there… my heart was gone.

Owen’s quiet care for others + Mei desperately needing love = everything.

This story was emotional, healing, and so beautifully written with the best HEA.
