Guilt followed her across an ocean. Grace called her home.
Desperate to leave Hooke Manor, Keely Boyle does what she feels she must in order to flee England for America, hoping to make a new life with the help of a man who befriended her years before. But when she arrives at Eden’s Gate, a large cattle ranch in the shadows of the Tetons, it is William Overstreet who offers her a fresh start.
William—a steady, God-fearing man—doesn’t need the complications falling for the pretty Irish immigrant would bring. He has enough problems already: water on the range has been poisoned and cattle are dying. But even as danger stalks the ranch, William can’t stop himself from being drawn to Keely’s fiery spirit and winsome ways.
When Keely’s secret sin is exposed, her world—and the love she’s come to cherish—teeters on the edge of ruin. But through danger and redemption, both she and William will find that belonging isn’t a matter of where they stand, but Whose grace holds them fast.
Set against the rugged beauty of 1890s Idaho, To Find Where She Belongs is a tender story of redemption, love, and the God who can turn even our deepest shame into belonging.

To Find Where She Belongs is book #5 in The British Are Coming series, but I write all of my series books to stand alone. While characters from previous books make appearances in later books, a reader won't be lost wherever they start. (Naturally, I hope you'll want to go back and read other books in the series, too.)
I love this love story between Keely and William, and I can't wait for others to read the book.
Advance reader copy- all the views are my own Spoiler alert
This is the fifth book in The Series the British Are Coming; which I have loved every single book! They can all be read as a stand alone title, but reading them together lets you fall in love with Eden's Gate and all the characters and their chance for love and redemption or a saving of sorts. I sat down an dread this book in one sitting and didn't want to put it down.
This book captures the patience, integrity, and gentle strength of William Overstreet and how he falls in love with Keely, an unlikely prospect. Keely was seen as having a "fire within her. A will to survive." Keely had "fought tooth and nail, through hardship and hunger, against loneliness and fear. She had survived. But not always with grace. Not always with honor. She had not asked God what to do or trusted Him to guide her. The choices she'd made had been her own. She had acted out of desperation and sometimes out of defiance. BUT...She wanted to be different now She wanted to do better. Was it enough or too late." She wanted to better better but did not know if she could be better. Keely had always longed to be respected, cherished, and to find where she belonged. She made her way to Eden's Gate by stealing to pay for passage from the man's sister she fell in love with! She was orphaned at an early age and a housemaid in England. She was not always respected for her Irish background and red curly hair. Keely had to fight to escape untoward and poor intentions from a man of wealth thinking he could force himself on her. She made her way across the country lying and stealing just to survive to a place she had only seen painted by a former acquaintance who was always cordial to her when in England.
Keely arrived at Eden's gate and was hired to assist Miss Adler in the kitchen and with household tasks. She first found a friend in a four legged pup named Rowdy, whom I also fell in love with! I laughed so hard envisioning the spilled bucket of water in Miss Adler's kitchen while Rowdy ran through the suds and Keely cleaned. She was also befriended by Veronica and by the end of this book, Keely had found what she had always longed for but never dared to dream she would find; a place of belonging. She survived a poisoning by tea and went on to not only fall in love with William, but earn his love in return. She found acceptance, forgiveness and freedom from the shame of previous choices she made with William at Eden's Gate. "She had truly found where she belonged. God Himself had seen to that." She and William, "stood in the quiet, hearts still learning the rhythm of a shared life but anchored in grace, tested by truth, and held fast by love".
I have read all the books in this series and enjoyed them immensely. I have especially found William Overstreet a steady and gentle, although authoritative man. He is, of course, the owner of Eden's Gate, the setting for all the stories. However, he now finds himself alone on his own ranch and never thought it would bother him. He's been alone before but now after several years of having friends and family in and out of the ranch, he finds that he misses the company. Keely Boyle flees Hooke Manor in England for America over an untenable situation but has to do something she despises to flee. Now she feels guilty and shameful. When she comes to Eden's Gate in Idaho hoping to find the one person she knows in America and doesn't find him there, what will she do? She's penniless! I felt deeply for both of these characters. As their friendship grew and trouble on the ranch begins, what will happen between them? William is pulled in different directions, and Keely is bogged down by her guilt and her new feelings for William. I loved how God worked in both of their lives in different ways. A true story of redemption, grace, healing, and love.
This was a beautiful story of finding forgiveness and love. Keely is burdened with shame and guilt because of what she did in the past, and finds it hard to believe that God can love her or bless her but thiwith love and happiness. Running from a bad situation in England, she travels to America in search of the only man who showed her kindness only to find that he is happily married and she is left with no money and nowhere to go. William, the brother of her employer in England, takes her on as a maid in his household, giving her safety and stability. As they fall in love, she must face the consequences of her actions, even though she has received forgiveness from God. They face a crisis on the ranch, loss of cattle, and the an attack from a former acquaintance, but they continue to put their trust in God and allow forgiveness to bring healing. I enjoy seeing the differences in cultures, English vs American and how they can overcome the differences and find happiness.
I received a copy of this book from the author as an ARC but this is an honest review.
With his last houseguest, Roger Bernhardt, having moved to town with his new wife, William Overstreet is feeling lonely - in his home and heart. Then Keely Boyle, a housemaid at Hooke Manor, arrives at Eden's Gate looking for Roger. When Keely learns that Roger has married and she has no money and nowhere to go, William offers her a job at the ranch.
To Find Where She Belongs is the fifth in The British Are Coming series by Robin Lee Hatcher. I loved William, especially his faith. I liked his and Keely's story. The setting for this historical romance continues to amaze. There was something about this book that felt different - in a very good way.
I received a free Kindle copy of this book. I volunteered to read it and write a review.
Keely is a housemaid at Hooke Manor. When she is accosted by the butler of another family, she knows she has to run. No one will believe her if she accuses him. She goes to Eden's Gate farm in ID because he knew Roger when he was painting at the manor. When she finally gets to Eden's Gate, Matthew hires her to help at the house until she can get on her feet. Keely really struggles with the class system. She is used to hiding in the background and not being seen.
Keely does carry quite a bit of guilt. When she was left orphaned and had to fend for herself, she had been known to steal to survive. She doesn't feel worthy of God's love or anyone else's. Matthew and all the people of the town befriend her. It is so wonderful to watch her bloom.
From the very first page you are drawn into this story. Keely flees from unwanted attention and goes to America to find the man who was her friend years ago and last she heard he was at a ranch called Eden’s Gate. When she reaches her destination, she is greeted by William who owns a large cattle ranch and learns her friend recently married. After hearing Keely’s sad story, William offers her a job helping the head housekeeper. Keely has a secret that she dreads the thought of anyone finding out. As Keely and William draw closer to one another their relationship takes a lot of twists and turns but through it all they learn the lesson of extending grace, and forgiveness. R. Fody Jan. 5, 2026
Robin Lee Hatcher is one of my favorite authors, and her latest book doesn't disappoint. If you've read previous books in the series, then you'll feel right at home in the beautiful setting of Eden's Gate. If this is your first visit to Eden's Gate, you'll fall in love with it. This is a sweet story of accepting God's forgiveness and finding your worth in Christ. The heroine, Keely, is from Ireland - her way of speech has you reading her parts in an Irish lilt. William is the strong, silent hero who through his love and forgiveness helps Keely accept Christ's forgiveness. Faith is threaded throughout the book, and gives the reader gentle reminders of God's grace and faithfulness.
This is my voluntary review of a copy I was given.
This is a sweet story about love and forgiveness, but there's also an element of mystery and danger.
The characters are believably well-written. William is kind and patient. He's well-grounded in Scripture but, obviously, not perfect. Keely is hardworking and brave but hiding something. She was a housemaid in England and struggles to let go of their class structure. But everyone she meets disregards it.
While there is some drama between the couple, there is also drama unfolding out on the ranch property. It was all entertaining to read.
This is the fifth book in Hatcher’s The British Are Coming series. If you’ve read the earlier books in this series, you’ll be familiar with William Overstreet, the owner of Eden’s Gate cattle ranch. This is his story of finding love in an unexpected person, and her journey to becoming his wife. I enjoyed the book. There are plot twists, beautiful scenery, romance, and more. I’m so glad there’s a sixth book coming!
"I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own."
Book 5 of The British Are Coming series is a wonderful addition with William Overstreet's story. Owning a ranch is a busy, hardworking life but he longs for a soulmate. Keely Boyle shows up al the ranch after escaping a bad situation in England. Despite different stations in life, they are drawn to each other but obstacles separate them that only God's grace and forgiveness can overcome. Sweet and inspirational story with mystery, suspense, and romance. I received a copy from the author for an honest review. These are my thoughts.

To Find Where She Belongs by Robin Lee Hatcher is the fifth book in the The British Are Coming series. It's a captivating, well-written story based on Christian principles. A beautiful story of hope and love in the old wild west. The story has wonderful, lifelike characters that you get to know well. It was nice to have a glimpse into the life of that day.
I enjoyed the characters and the faith interwoven through the book. A bit of mystery gave it further interest and a more intriguing story. This is a well written book with a HEA. I highly recommend it. I received an ARC copy and this is my voluntary review.
I love this author. Every book I have ever read by her is good. This book is no exception to that. I enjoyed watching the story happen. I would highly recommend it to others who enjoy this genre.
I've loved this whole series but this one rose to the top as my VERY favorite of all the books. Wonderful characters and a beautiful story of God's grace toward His children.
