It’s 1976. The Belleville siblings Richard, William and Julia remain centre stage but the Belleville family is expanding, with both Paul and Marianne now married.
A new generation is now in its infancy but even as new arrivals are celebrated, a child’s future hangs in the balance and marriages begin to crack. Until finally, no one can ignore the truth as a shocking deception is revealed.
Against this backdrop, Julia Belleville begins to feature more prominently in life at Prior Park, following her divorce from her American husband Dr Philippe Duval.

Nearly twenty years on from the destruction of her beloved home, Julia believes a new house will help the family move on from the tragic aftermath of the fire. She commissions Richard’s architect son Anthony to bring her dream to life.
But will building a replica of the old house be the answer? Not everyone is convinced. Her brother William privately questions her plans, describing her ambitions as ‘Julia’s folly’. Her brother Richard is in favour of the plan, knowing she needs the project to raise her spirits.
But before a new house can rise from the ashes, the old house gives up its shocking secrets. For the very first time, the Belleville family learn the truth of their origins, from Louis Belleville’s own hand. It is 1976 and the winds are changing in the Belleville family the Bellville grandchildren Paul, Anthony, Marianne and now John are starting to make their mark on the family with Julia building her new home on Prior Park a replica of the original, life is changing but is it for the better there seems to be a storm brewing with this younger generation how will things work out?
Paul and Amanda are having problems that stem back a few years with two children now, will their marriage survive?
Marianne and Alex also now have two children but again their marriage is on very rocky grown.
Anthony is doing well as an architect and has designed his Aunt Julia’s new home but will he find love?
When the building starts on the new home secrets are uncovered about the first Belleville, Louis and they learn their true origins.
This is a well written story that digs deep into a family with many scandals throughout the year’s lots of ups and downs but still the Belleville family is strong there are a lot of family members and I thoroughly enjoyed it, I am not sure that I am a big fan of all the characters but they are what makes this family and family need different personalities and opinions in them, I have still to read the first three books in this series and am looking forward to them, but this one was easily read with lots of background information and a summary of the family in the front of the book. I would highly recommend this one and the series to any lover of big family sagas that tell a story of a strong family in the times.

Life changes for all at different age stages and adaptations need to be made.
As a new generation emerges onto centre stage so do secrets from the past.
The family growing every year keeps the legacy alive.
Homage to the original patriarch and matriarch reveals the origins and designs to make a grand future.
A reminder that life is like the sands through an hour glass.
I have so enjoyed this series and I was lucky enough to binge read the first four.
It took me a few minutes to get my head around who was who but thankfully a summary of family was at the front.
Seeing the kids grow up and marry then have their own babies is fulfilling.
If you love a series, love a family saga and want to take a step back in time this is one I would recommend highly.
