Long story short, Vivacia K. Ahwen retired from writing erotic fiction. The Lily books are a nice bit of nostalgia if you fondly miss the billionaire trope or want a trip back in time when the only Donald Trump joke was "The Apprentice is a terrible reality show." Angels Prey remains as amusing a satire to me now as it was back then, but my sense of humor isn't for everyone. I've pulled the links to all the books, since I don't recommend! Thank you to everyone who took the time to read and review Vivacia's erotic romance novels or Witchology Magazine astrology columns. Thank you to Adam Neville for all things HarperCollins.

Obviously, as the author of Angels' Prey, I have no business reviewing it. Breaking my rules, because this edition is updated and --if I may be so bold-- considerably improved from the last. Plus, paperbacks are far more appealing to my sensibilities than Kindle.
Also, within a review I can write some relevant "stuff" not included on the cover blurb.
Here goes:
It’s weird, it’s wicked dirty, and it was fun as heck to write. Think of a triple-X (try MMF) comedic tribute to Victorian Gothic romance novels (of the “Dear Reader” variety), and a total parody of V.C. Andrews. But –spoiler alert– no one has sex with any siblings, cousins, or uncles. I did have fun breaking all the “Never use passive voice, adverbs, exclamation points, purple prose, em-dashes, run-on sentences, hyperbole, etc. rules.” The title and description are a bit misleading, since the majority of Clarice’ sordid tale takes place at the Oakesdale estate, and the angels are only in the first and last couple of chapters. I had every intention of turning it into a series, so it’s primarily sexy backstory. Though it's a standalone, I actually was in the process of plotting two (!) sequels.
Perhaps I will pick up the project again, someday.
