From New York Times bestselling author and Bachelorette fan-favorite Hannah Brown, a rom-com beach read full of witty banter, emotional authenticity, and female friendship—perfect for fans of Emily Henry’s Funny Story and Carley Fortune’s One Golden Summer.
Perfectionist and former pageant girl Nikki Bennet is looking forward to relaxing at her family’s lake house in Georgia for the Fourth of July. Even though it’s been two years since she was on the reality dating show LovedBy, she still hasn’t recovered from finding out on national TV that her fiancé, Aaron, had been dating another woman all along.
But when she arrives home, her little brother makes a surprise announcement: he’s engaged to his girlfriend, Cara—the “other woman” Aaron had been seeing behind Nikki’s back. And what’s worse? They intend to have the wedding this summer, right here at the lake.
Hoping to stop her brother from making the biggest mistake of his life, Nikki discovers an unlikely ally in Cara’s brother, Nate. While their bond begins as shared shock over their siblings’ rushed nuptials, it quickly deepens into something more. Nikki knows Nate is completely wrong for her—he’s a laidback country boy, she’s a driven LA influencer—and yet he’s a welcome distraction from the mess of her love life… as well as the growing sense that her family’s been hiding something from her, something she may not be ready to hear.
But as fireworks light up the water, can Nikki and Nate really stay focused on preventing this wedding? Or will all the reasons they’re wrong for each other lead to an even more unlikely love story—their own?

Phewwwww even though I saw it coming, that ending!? I think I read the last 10% of the book through tears. Devastating and beautiful.
This book was such an interesting look at growing up and growing out of the constraints and expectations that life and our family/friends have of us when we were younger.
This book really felt like a 2000s romcom. Not only do we get some amazing Parent Trap love, but I also got some Bride Wars vibes as well.
You’re getting: -an FMC who was a former pageant queen who was the lead on a reality love show -an MMC who is the antithesis of the LA lifestyle -a large family with hysterical dynamics and of course, some secrets -a story set at a beautiful lake house
It was sweet and funny, heartbreaking and gut-wrenching. It really brings up a lot of thoughts I think many women in their late 20s and early 30s have had and will have. I had trouble putting it down!
Hannah’s best book yet. It truly delivered with everything you want from a romance novel and gave much more as well. I’ll be thinking about that ending for a long time - everything about it was so beautiful and well done.
This was such a sweet and cozy romance! 💕 I loved the emotional depth mixed with the swoony moments, and the characters were easy to root for. The story had a warm, comforting feel while still exploring themes of love, growth, and vulnerability. Overall, this was a heartfelt contemporary romance that left me with a smile on my face and all the cozy feelings. Thank you to NetGalley and Hannah Brown for this arc!
I was beyond excited when I received a galley of Reasons to Be Loved by You in early April. I absolutely loved Mistakes We Never Made and The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain, so when I learned about the release of Hannah’s newest book, I knew I would love it just as much.
I loved everything about this book — the main characters, their family members, and the deep emotional connections throughout the story. For some characters, this was such a heartwarming found-family journey, while for others, it was a beautiful story about reconnecting with family. Every family-centered moment in this book felt meaningful and authentic.
Seeing Emma, Willow, and Sybil’s names early on and watching them appear throughout the story was such a treat. The friendship between the core four is so strong, and I loved getting to spend more time with them in this book.
I loved Nikki and everything she experiences in this story. After an embarrassing public heartbreak on a reality dating show, she’s trying to open her heart again and find her happily ever after. But as she reenters the dating world, she’s met with disappointment after disappointment. Even though the breakup happened two years ago, she’s still navigating the emotional aftermath and learning how to trust again.
Then there’s Nate. I truly don’t have enough words for how much I loved him. From the very beginning, he was kind, thoughtful, and caring — an incredible brother, son, and overall wonderful person.
This book was such an emotional roller coaster, and I couldn’t put it down — just like the rest of Hannah’s books. There were moments that made my stomach drop and others that had my heart aching with emotion. At the same time, there were laugh-out-loud scenes and so many tender, heartwarming moments. I truly felt every emotion while reading this story.
Thank you so much to NetGalley, Hannah Brown, and Forever Publishing for the ARC of Reasons to Be Loved by You. All opinions are my own.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ **A Swoon‑Filled, Messy, and Utterly Addictive Summer Romance**
Hannah Brown absolutely delivers with *Reasons to Be Loved by You*, a sparkling, emotionally layered romance that perfectly blends small-town charm, reality TV fallout, and complicated family dynamics into one unforgettable read.
Nikki Bennet is such a compelling heroine—equal parts polished perfectionist and deeply vulnerable woman still reeling from a very public heartbreak. Watching her return home to what should have been a peaceful Fourth of July getaway—only to be blindsided by her brother’s engagement to *the woman* who played a role in her own very public betrayal—sets the stage for a story packed with tension, humor, and emotional depth.
The premise is deliciously dramatic, but what really shines is the execution. Brown expertly balances the chaos of family secrets and wedding drama with the slow-burn romance between Nikki and Nate. Their relationship begins in shared disbelief but evolves into something tender, authentic, and impossible not to root for. Nate is the perfect foil to Nikki—grounded, steady, and disarmingly kind—and their chemistry leaps off the page. The “opposites attract” dynamic feels fresh and nuanced rather than cliché.
Beyond the romance, the novel digs into themes of identity, self-worth, and the pressure to maintain a perfect image—especially in the wake of public scrutiny. Nikki’s journey toward healing and rediscovering herself is just as satisfying as her love story, if not more so.
The lake house setting is pure summer magic—fireworks over the water, humid nights, and emotional explosions that mirror the holiday backdrop. Brown captures the atmosphere so vividly that you can practically feel the warmth and tension radiating from every scene.
*Reasons to Be Loved by You* is heartfelt, funny, and deeply satisfying. It’s a story about choosing yourself, embracing imperfection, and finding love where you least expect it—even when it seems like everything is working against you.
Perfect for fans of emotional romances with sharp wit, strong character growth, and a generous dose of drama. I absolutely devoured this and didn’t want it to end.
Thank you so much for Forever for the chance to read and love this gifted advanced copy!

This was a perfect must-read summer romance! I absolutely adored how real this story was. Nikki is the character of the series who is the most like Hannah herself, and I really liked getting to see how that shaped this story.
There are so many forms of media, whether that’s TV, books, social media, podcasts— literally anything, that are showing us a completely perfected format of something. We all know that’s not real, and it’s easy to feel how edited things are in today’s society. Reasons to Be Loved by You is the antonym of this. Hannah Brown works to rewrite the narrative of a perfect story, aesthetically perfect characters, and a traditional romance story. Reading this book felt like coming home, and it felt like a soft place to land in a genre that often feels as though it romanticizes perfection. I adored that Nate’s smile wasn’t perfect and he had a crooked tooth. I loved that Nikki jumped in the lake and got her hair wet— it’s the little things that push the boundaries of a character who’s typically very focused on physical things begin to lean into truly living freely.
I loved that Nikki and Nate’s relationship felt soft and grounded. They’re such complete opposites, but they complement each other and work together so well. The supporting storyline between Nikki and Cara was also way more emotional than I expected it to be, and I loved how they were able to work through their shared differences without putting each other down.
The ending of this book (if you know, you know) actually made me cry so hard that I couldn’t see and honestly almost made me change my rating to one much lower, but I think that there is something to say, and something beautiful, about a story that can make you feel emotions so deeply. Definitely check your triggers on this one, though!
I absolutely devoured Reasons to Be Loved by You. I finished it in less than a day and honestly have zero regrets because this book was SO sweet. Nikki and Noah had chemistry from the very beginning, and you could feel that instant attraction immediately. I loved watching them navigate those feelings while also dealing with real-life complications - especially with her little brother marrying his younger sister and all the connections that came along with that.
This book balanced the fun, flirty moments with emotional depth so well. There was one part near the end that completely got me in the feels and tugged hard at my heartstrings. I won't spoil it, but wow. And the epilogue?
Perfect. I will never stop loving books that give us epilogues. Give me all the extra moments. 💕
Such a cute, summery, beachy romance and an easy five-star read for me. Definitely recommend if you're looking for something heartfelt, swoony, and impossible to put down.
Thank you to Net Galley and forever publishing for the arc of this title. This was a great summer romance, perfect for the season. Our female main character is a retired beauty pageant star turned reality star. She went through a very messy break up that went viral so she has lots of trauma. Our mailman character had an awful wake up with a long-term girlfriend. This book is full of drama, but also laughs and maybe a few tears. This one made me feel all the feelings.
Thank you to Netgalley and the Publisher for a free copy of this book. All thoughts are my own.
I absolutely love this story and I can't be surprised because Hannah Brown knocked it out of the park with The Four Engagement Rings. That book put this author on the map for me and I was so excited to be offered a widget for the next in the series.
I really enjoyed the twists and turns that this book gave us. I was on the edge of my seat going "Oh my god, what?" pretty much the entire time! It was punch after punch in the absolute best way and I can not wait for the final book of the bunch! The small town setting was almost idyllic, I do wish that our characters spent a bit more time outside of the house and out in the town, but that's such a small complaint.
I loved the character development and the way that the core four were there to support each other even from afar. I really loved that aspect of the story from Four Rings and was excited to see it carried over yet again to this one, especially considering that Nikki was technically the outsider of the friend group from the beginning. Once again, I felt like this book was more of a "love yourself first" type of romance story which I am here for!
There was a lot going on and it was a wild ride but I feel like this book could be a viral summer read!
Like a lot of other people I loved Hannah Brown during her time on bachelor nation but I never expected her books to become one of my favourite series. We are back with the core four and this time we focus on Nikki; the former reality tv show contestant.
This is the most real and relatable story of the three published so far in my opinion. Maybe not being scorned by a lover on tv but the aspect of feeling like you need to have your life figured out by 30 and the constant comparisons of your own life track with others. I really felt Nikki’s pain and feelings of being lost come alive from the page. The setting of the family’s house was perfect and again it felt so real and could really see this translating great to the screen.
I’m not afraid to admit that Nate may be my new book boyfriend! I absolutely loved his sense of humour and character description. He’s flawed and carrying his own grief deep within and I just wanted to give him a hug. His chemistry with Nikki was top tier and off the charts! I liked how spice is minimal (as it was in the other books too) as it really allowed for the story to be the forefront.
At times it was a little too repetitive for my liking; (how many times do we have to say he smells like sawdust and sandalwood? ) and I didn’t love the flashback portions. There was also one side character I wanted more closure with; but overall the story was so beautiful I could over look it.
I did not expect to be bawling my eyes out at the end. I highly recommend you add this (and the whole series) to your summer tbr! I can’t wait for the last member of the core four, willow to get her story next year!!!
Thank you to NetGalley and Forever Publishing for the ARC of Reasons to be Loved by You by Hannah Brown.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This one completely stole my heart.
Featuring forced proximity and the enemy’s brother trope, this charming romance is equal parts cozy, funny, and emotionally rich. The lakeside setting was described so beautifully that I felt like I could draw a map of every place the characters visited around town. I was ready to pack my bags and head there myself.
Hannah Brown’s experience from The Bachelorette and The Bachelor really shines through in the reality show elements of the story, adding a layer of authenticity that made those scenes especially fun to read.
The characters were instantly lovable, and I found myself laughing out loud more than once. While the pacing felt a little slow in a few places and I occasionally wanted the story to move to the next beat, it never took away from how much I enjoyed this book.
Sweet, heartfelt, and full of summer charm, Reasons to be Loved by You is the kind of romance that completely takes you in. If you’re looking for a perfect summer read, add this one to your list. I’m going to need a follow up to this story asap!
thank you to the publishers and netgalley for the opportunity to read this eARC in exchange for my honest review
I really don’t like giving books less then 5 stars, but unfortunately with this one, it never made it over a 2 star book. I thought about DNFing about 25% in, but I wanted to give the author a chance. I understand what the story was trying to do, I get the sweet southerness that was used for the characters and setting, but it went beyond just being southern, and into overall cringe territory.
the main character Nikki is just 30, a former pageant girl and a former reality tv star but GOD she is also SO superficial and immature. the friendship she has with her core four as she calls them, seemed like a group of 15 year olds, not 30 something women. Nate is the love interest in the story for Nikki and while their lives are oddly intertwined, lust at first sight turns into something more. Nate himself seems ok, he has absolutely NO character development, no one does really. I don’t buy the idea of them falling in love, still just seems like glorified lust. he lets Nikki be mean to his sister Cara time and time again, while claiming to be a “protective” older brother. and even though I don’t love Nikki, some of the stuff he says to her in heated moments is downright mean and borderline unforgivable, definitely not something that then furthers your new “love” for someone. With the description for the story before reading, I really thought the book was going to be a fun summer read. instead it left me feeling icky and angry with the way all the characters interact and claim to love and care about one another. this is a first from this author for me and unfortunately, I will not be reading any other books from her in the future.
Any romance that paces the Bechdel test this clearly is worth of some appreciation. The angle of having a former reality dating show participant as a primary character was interesting & I loved the concept. I did feel the book leaned a bit too heavily on the references to the show & felt that could have been incorporated more smoothly. The banter/dialogue was very entertaining & natural. Nikki was so perfectly likable & the found family aspect of this book really added a perfect layer of warmth that I loved. Overall this was definitely a fun & cozy summer romcom but it was also a really solid portrayal of friendship.
Big thanks to Netgalley & the publisher for allowing me to enjoy this.
If you’re a fan of Hannah Brown, you MUST read this book. She really threw her reality into this book, making it both bizarre (in a crazy, good way) and enjoyable. I loved the easy banter and flirting with Nikki & Nate and could so easily picture them throughout the book. The relationship between Nikki and her mother was very sweet and I loved imaging the pageant situations with them together.
Nikki is a former LovedBy reality star whose wedding was called off moments before the ceremony. When Nikki goes home a few years later for a reset she is quickly met with a surprise…her brother’s engaged!…to her ex’s other woman. Now Nikki must make it through this family wedding (and being around her future SIL’s hot bother) before she can go back to reality.
⭐️ 5 stars heartfelt, funny, emotional, and Hannah Brown at her absolute best.
First, I’d like to thank NetGalley, Hannah Brown, and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for this eARC in exchange for my honest review.
Ms. Hannah Brown Ms. Ma’am! This may just be my favorite book of yours yet.
I absolutely loved how much heart this story had. It had all the perfect elements it’s funny, heartfelt, emotional, and completely immersive. There were moments that had me laughing, and others that had me fully wrecked. Hannah Brown’s writing made the setting feel so vivid, like I was right there beside Nikki in that yard by the lake. You could practically feel the water, the sticky humidity, and dang even the emotions.
What I loved most, though, was Nikki’s character arc. She was truly floundering, unsure of who she was or what she really wanted, after spending so much of her life trying to please other people and “win” at life by someone else’s standards. Watching her finally choose herself her needs, her happiness, her future was such a beautiful thing to witness. Bravo.
And Nikki’s story with her mother? My heart. I was a complete sobbing mess by the end of this book.
Nikki’s journey had so much depth and so many real, relatable emotional layers that it honestly felt like perfection. And then there’s Nate… because let’s not forget the eye candy. Chef’s kiss.
Thank you to NetGalley and Grover publishing for the early copy of this book.
This wasn’t my favorite. I liked the beginning, I liked the FMC And I liked the meetcute.
The second she got to her parents house and she was blindsided by her entire family, I lost interest and couldn’t connect after that.
Poor Nikki was gaslit the entire story. I didn’t like Cara at all and cooper annoyed me. How could they possibly all say she was selfish or overreacting? The nerve of them asking her to get over it.
After everything, I just didn’t like the way the story panned out.
Okay I wasn’t loving this and also have been in a slump, but the last quarter was enjoyable. Cute, easy read if you’re a bachelor nation girly.
Honestly, I was surprised Hannah wrote this to be so much about her personal life and her experience on reality tv. I’m curious to know how much of the little details were actually true. Thank you NetGalley & Grand Central Publishing for this ARC!
my first book and i finished in 24 hours!!! i loved it it was a sweet romance with a good ending. it was a slow burn and i felt the ending was almost rushed i wish there was just a bit more development towards the climax but otherwise 10/10
This book was wholesome! I loved it and wanted to read it in one sitting but I had to be a responsible adult and parent. 😅 I loved the banter and chemistry between the FMC Nikki and the MMC Nate.
Nikki is a reality TV star from a finding love reality show, while Nate is a laid back country boy that she assumes has no ambitions. They come from completely different worlds but end up around each other after the woman (Cara) who ruined Nikki’s happily ever after on the show gets engaged to her brother Cooper… and she just so happens to be Nate’s little sister. There’s a little bit of girl drama and Nikki is the level of petty that I can be, so I completely understood her feelings and dilemma. 😏
This book also has emotional bits throughout. It definitely is a great summer beach read! 10/10.. I highly recommend! I’m so happy to have found another author who I’ll be reading all of her previous books and future releases!
Thank you to Forever Pub for the free ARC copy of this book! I’m forever grateful for the opportunity! All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Synopsis: Former pageant queen Nikki Bennett wants her happily ever after. She’d thought she found it as the bachelorette on a reality dating show. But, her storybook ending turns into a nightmare when she discovers her Prince Charming is anything but one, and he actually has a girlfriend named Cara back home.
After a string of failed dates, Nikki decides to return home to her family’s lake house to reset and recharge. However, to her surprise, her brother announces his engagement… to Cara, the girlfriend that her former fiance was seeing behind her back.
Nikki is determined to stop the wedding from happening, and she unexpectedly finds an ally in Cara’s brother, Nate. Nikki and Nate couldn’t be more different, but the more time they spend together, the harder it becomes to distinguish the difference between an unlikely partner and a real love story that she never saw coming.
Review: There are many reasons to love Reasons to Be Loved By You!
Hannah Brown did such a great job of depicting Southern small town charm that the setting felt like a character in and of itself! She captured the essence of southern Georgia culture so well through the dialogue, family traditions, and food.
The strongest part of the story was Nikki’s character arc. As a former pageant girl, Nikki struggles with perfectionism and people pleasing, and she’s self-conscious about how other people perceive her. She also worries over not reaching the same milestones as her friends at the time when she feels like she’s supposed to. As someone who is the same age as Nikki’s character, it was easy to connect with her character because her struggles really resonated with me. I love how her character grew into feeling more comfortable with embracing the often messy and imperfect parts of life.
The romance is a very slow burn, which I absolutely loved! I’m a big fan of romances where the characters become friends first, and I like how Nikki and Nate developed a strong bond as friends before the romance started because it made their emotional connection so much deeper. I also love how Nate was so supportive of Nikki and he made her feel so comfortable just being herself!
Something I don’t love in romance novels is when the mmc is so perfect that he lacks any meaningful character growth of depth. Therefore, I also appreciated how Nate is a flawed and well-rounded character. He isn’t the perfect boyfriend who always says the right thing at the right time. He makes mistakes, which makes him feel much more realistic and relatable than a cookie cutter mmc.
Overall, the book struck a good balance between the drama with her brother’s engagement, the comedic moments, and heartfelt scenes. However, without giving away spoilers, I felt that one of the family secrets could have been developed a bit more to deliver a stronger emotional impact at the end of the book.
Thank you to Forever (Grand Central Publishing) and NetGalley for an arc of this book!
Reasons to Be Loved By You by Hannah Brown is an incredibly thoughtful and emotionally resonant contemporary story that perfectly balances the glittering drama of reality television with the grounded, messy realities of coming home. The story follows Nikki, who, after a chaotic stint on the hit reality dating show LovedBy, heads back to Georgia for a few weeks to decompress and find her footing. Instead of peace, she walks right into a family nightmare: her brother is getting married, and his fiancé is the exact girl who ruined Nikki’s relationship on national television. Hannah Brown crafts an absolutely stunning and immersive Georgia backdrop that feels like a character all on its own, drawing you completely into the atmosphere of the town. Don't let the reality TV premise fool you; the writing is deeply reflective, exploring public perception, family loyalty, and the heavy weight of betrayal. Rather than delivering a neat, fairytale conclusion, the book wraps up with a bittersweet ending that feels entirely earned, realistic, and deeply moving. It is a beautifully written, atmospheric read that leaves you thinking about the characters long after the final page.
Thank you to the publisher for a gifted opt all thoughts are my own.
📖 Book Review 📖 Sometimes I live under a rock, but I have come to accept that. So while I did watch my favorite seasons in The Bachelor universe at the time of airing, it took me until starting this book to realize that:
Hannah Brown was better known to me as Hannah B. She became an author! There is an entire Hannahverse of interconnected standalones to enjoy that I can genuinely say can be read on their own because I just finished the fourth one and only found out at the epilogue that this was the case (it felt like winning the lottery).
There are so many reasons to love this book. And while the ironic drama and humor is a fun nod to reality television, no prior knowledge of actual dating shows is required to enjoy this small-town, big family drama, small town story about coming home. Reasons to Be Loved by You is the best parts of family traditions in the backyard mixed with the hottest drama to create a perfect summer read.
What a beautiful story! Nikki is an influencer, fashion designer, former reality tv star and pageant queen, burnt out and in need of a break. So, Nikki is furious when she gets home to Georgia for her break to realize her brother is engaged to her sworn enemy and everyone knew about it and did not tell her. Also, complicating matters is that her enemy Cara’s brother Nate is staying with them too, and he is gorgeous and funny and the first guy she has been truly interested in since she got her heart broken. What follows is two weeks of insanity, trying to get her brother to not marry her enemy, while also trying not to fall for her enemy’s brother. I expected this to be a cute romance, but I was not prepared for the emotional depth and heartbreak in this story. Or the tears, wow did the end have me sobbing. This was a beautiful story, with a gorgeous setting, wonderful well developed characters, and a fun plot. I was not familiar with this author before, but now I will be going to hunt down all their past books! I received an ARC, and this is my honest review.
What do you mean her fiancé’s mistress is marrying her brother?!
First and foremost I’d like to thank Forever Publishing and Netgalley for providing me with this arc!
Hannah Brown has delivered her most personal novel and dare I say best? I didn’t think I’d love anything she did more than The Four Engagements… but something about this just took my breath away. If it would have been her first novel, no one would have taken her seriously, would say she just wrote a reality star because that’s what she is. Hannah earned her spot in the romance genre before writing a novel that pulls so much from her own life making the writing her best yet.
As for the story itself I could go on for hours. The setting of an upper class southern family with the matriarch and the status and the pressure and the secrets. Add in a handsome rugged stranger to fall for. This book just feels like summer. I can’t wait to read it again and again and again
This series has been really fun and surprising, and I look forward to each book that’s come next. This one was obviously very inspired by Hannah Brown’s own experience on The Bachelor (almost distractingly so. I expected them to deviate a bit more from reality but they really stuck close to the truth and it made it hard to discern what else was fact and what was fiction). I liked the southern small town setting and the MMC was a refreshing change from the typical dark, broody heroes that saturate this genre (I love me a golden retriever, sunshiney, blonde!) Overall I thought the love story was a little rushed and having the book take place over only a 2 week time span was too short. I also saw the ending coming from a mile away and felt like the FMC would have too. Beyond that though it was fun, flirty. And fast paced enough that I never felt bored. Excited for the final book next year! Thank to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!
This was my first time reading a novel by Hannah, and it definitely won’t be my last.
This was the perfect summer read: sweet, emotional, and impossible not to get invested in. While I did predict the ending, that didn’t take away from my enjoyment at all. Watching everything unfold and seeing the characters grow made the journey worthwhile.
Hannah’s writing was beautiful and heartfelt, and by the end, I found myself getting surprisingly emotional. My eyes were definitely leaking a little! Overall, this was a lovely, feel-good read with plenty of heart, and one I’d recommend to anyone looking for a romance to add to their summer reading list
Thank you NetGalley, Hannah Brown, and Forever Publishing for this ARC!
I just love this series! All three books have been so dang good and I can’t wait for book 4 next summer. I absolutely loved this book. I loved Nikki! I love how Hannah has brought in her own story into these characters. This one in particular the bachelor franchise. In the book the y say Nikki’s season is still their top season and I bet Hannah’s is still one of their top seasons it was that good! The banter, the family and secrets, Cara and Nikki’s love hate relationship, Nate, and the setting - I loved it all! The ending is make you bawl your eyes out and I am here for it.
Thank you @hannahbrown & @netgalley for allowing me to read this E-ARC for my honest opinion.
