Harvest of Love

Rate this book
I never thought I’d find love again—until Daisy Hart walked into my life.

At forty-two, I’m a single dad starting over in a small town in the North Carolina mountains. Love wasn’t in the plan.

But Daisy Hart—my son’s nanny, the owner of a local yoga studio, twelve years younger—makes it easy to forget why I built walls in the first place.

She’s sweet, caring, and everything I didn’t know I needed. I know the risks. Getting involved could shake the stability my son finally has. But when I realize the attraction between us isn’t one-sided, all bets are off.

This Thanksgiving, I’m done playing it safe.

Because sometimes the best things in life come after the fall.

Harvest of Love is a mutual pining, single dad/nanny, age-gap holiday novella set in Azalea Creek—open-door heat, heartfelt humor, and a guaranteed HEA.

Can be read as a standalone.

Super cute, fun, romantic, fall novella! Manny and Daisy were made for each other! I love a nanny/single dad trope and this book delivered. I loved the setting, the vibes and the love story between these two characters. If you're looking for a fall romance and quick read, this is for you.

I haven't seen too many Thanksgiving romances, so I thought I'd give Harvest of Love by Lisa Montoya a shot since we are celebrating the holiday this week. And if you know me, single dads are my jam.

I haven't seen too many Thanksgiving romances, so I thought I'd give Harvest of Love by Lisa Montoya a shot since we are celebrating the holiday this week. And if you know me, single dads are my jam.

This was a cute novella set in a small town and honestly, everything that comes after the title gives away what the book has. Single dad/nanny, age gap, mutual pining set during the Thanksgiving holiday. Since this is a novella, we jump right into a situation without getting a lot of backstory. We don't really experience much of the FMC, Daisy being a nanny because the child she cares for is away for the week with his mother. And we don't get to see the MMC (Manny) and Daisy slowly fall for one another since this story drops us right into the middle of everything. BUT, we get to experience what happens when they give into their mutual pining.

I thought this was a cute story but I was missing all the feels since we didn't get to really fall with them. We just got to see the aftermath of the mutual pining between Manny and Daisy and a real fast forward into a relationship with them. And then there's all the side characters to keep straight in a novella. I understand this is a world that's been created and I am curious about the other characters, but it was a bit much for a novella.

WIth all that said, the story was cute and fast paced and Daisy and Manny obviously fit together well. Just wish we got to experience more so their relationship would feel more real.

Manny and the nanny Daisy’s her name and this story of their’s by Liss Montoya damn! It’s mighty fine and cute with a side of smut yes please . This book so does tease at our senses with no pretences about where it’s going. He’s forty two and at thirty she’s twelve years younger but she has the hunger and he’s found his mr flirty has woken at each cringeworthy words he’s spoken. Out of practice he maybe but it’s working see. She’s so good for his son and he listens and learns while daddy? He yearns for this woman who knows how to be with his son and he dreams of her being his hon. Daisy Hart who owns a yoga studio has his heart you know . It’s an awesome Fall and when these two fall for each other,oh brother all bets are off it’s rough and it’s sweet and ooh the heat. Trying to think of his child he holds back at first but the thirst of desire when his fire is matched with hers stirs and steams into the dreams he’s had and Daisy can’t help wanting this dad as well as dote on his son. Liss Montoya I was undone with this one hon. Insane that Ruin and Rain’s brother will gain a piece of my heart lovey this story was beautiful so lovely.

I definitely enjoyed getting to go bCk to Azalea Creek and read a story based on some of the previously introduced characters: Dr. Gutierrez & Daisy Hart, goat yoga instructor.

This was a quick read novella centerd around fall and Thanksgiving. While it was short and sweet, we still get some past interactions between our MCs thrown in through memory flashbacks.

One of my favorite parts was the epilogue in Tommy's point of view. It got me a bit teary eyed to see things through his perspective.

I also really like how Manny thought through what a relationship with Daisy would men - he was so intentional through it all.  This book is releasing November 10th in perfect time for Thanksgiving.

I've been crossing my fingers for Liss Montoya to write Manny's story since I read him in Unraveling Rain, so I couldn't be happier with this book. Although I have to confess I was a little apprehensive because it's a short story, and I'm not the biggest fan of instant love, BUT thankfully the author gave me something completely different from what I expected. I had a wonderful time reading Manny & Daisy, and the best surprise was that she also gave me unexpected glimpses of my favorite characters from Azalea Creek.

Manny is a doctor and a single father who recently arrived in Azalea Creek and just won full custody of his little boy, Tommy. He's a sweet, attentive dad who's fighting to give his son a safe place to grow up. He's also head over heels in love with Daisy, Tommy's nanny, and I loved reading about him being completely crazy about her, speaking to her affectionately in Spanish, and being his sexiest self when he needs to be.

Daisy is also the owner of the town's yoga studio, a big-hearted woman who loves spending time with Tommy and Manny. She's independent, charming, and has a large, loving family that I loved reading about.

Another aspect I really liked about Harvest of Love was the way Liss portrayed Manny's fatherhood, she used a phrase that, until now, I'd only seen authors use to describe the situation of single mothers, so this was refreshing.

I'm a single dad. My time isn't my own.

Finally, I have to mention the great role played by the other characters from Azalea Creek, like Manny and Daisy's group of friends. They were absolutely hilarious, adorable, and also gave me a great glimpse into their own stories. Plus, that little detail about Grandma MacAllister's life was totally unexpected and I loved it.

I'm a single dad. My time isn't my own.

I have always been a fan of Liss Montoya’s writing, and this book, although it's a novella, was beautifully written. Despite it being a novella, this story felt like a novel with how detailed the writing is and it didn’t feel rushed at all!

This is the story of Manny, who is starting over with his son in Azalea Creek after divorcing his wife. He ends up hiring a nanny to take care of his son while he is working as a doctor at the local hospital. Not only is his nanny the best at taking care of his son, she also takes care of the house. He starts to fall for her but hesitates to ask her out because he doesnt want to disrupt the consistency and normalcy that she has brought into his son’s life.

Daisy is almost thirty, still living paycheck by paycheck in the small town of Azalea Creeks. She is currently the nanny of Manny’s son, Tommy, and absolutely adores that boy to death 💕 However, at the same time, she has developed a crush on her boss and she wishes she can do something about it. Instead, she keeps to herself and keeps taking care of Tommy and Manny. A few days before Thanksgiving, Daisy offers to come by Manny’s house to tidy up and she ends up almost being found in a compromising position by Manny 🤭

Manny ends up confessing to Daisy that he wishes he had more time so he can kiss her but he is called away for an emergency at the hospital and leaves her with that lingering effect of want and need. They each are friends with the regular group of Rain, Ruin, Mia, Carly, Xander, Miles, Gio, etc lol and text in their group chats to figure out what should the next steps be for each other. I loved seeing their friends being involved and the texts between them is sooo funny and adorable. The attraction and connection that Daisy and Manny have is out of this world! I love that even though this is a novella, you can tell that they both have been slowly falling in love with each other. And they just needed that small push to finally confess their feelings to each other 🤭🔥

If Liss Montoya writes it, I am going to read it! I was excited to read Harvest of Love, which is part of a larger series entitled Love and Leftovers. This book also ties into her Azalea Creek series, which I love. With the holiday season upon us, I was grateful for a Thanksgiving themed book in the mix of Halloween and now Christmas books I am reading. Liss packed so much into this short, but sweet novella. The perfect length to cuddle up under a cozy blanket, with your favorite hot drink, and just get lost for a few hours in this romantic story.

Manny and Daisy are pure magic together. They are written so well with layers to be peeled back as the story progresses. And while this book is short, the attraction between these two takes it time to boil over. Manny doesn’t want to disrupt the consistency his son is finally receiving, while Daisy is the nanny and doesn’t want to cross any line. Watching them dance around each other, while they keep growing closer and closer, was so much fun.

This story not only focuses on the love growing between our MCs, but does a fantastic job portraying single parenthood. Manny is a wonderful father, who is always putting his son first. As he starts to find balance in fatherhood and being his own person, I got weak in the knees as he showed his son what loving someone really means.

I also love how Liss ties her own culture into everything she writes. It is obvious she is beyond proud of her heritage and always shines a bright light on aspects of it. I love getting to know her more through each work she publishes.

As always, review any author notes before reading.

Liss Montoya, you did it again 😏😈🤭🧡 I could not stop giggling, gasping, cackling, blushing and kicking my feet! This couple made me feel everything. Their chemistry was absolutely sizzling and insane. And the spice 😈🧎‍♀️💃 Had me dancing and wanting to speak some Spanish myself 🤭 Thank you so much for the ARC 🧡

Manny Gutierrez 💃 Hawt Dayum baby! Tall, handsome, speaks Spanish, older, successful, a single dad, rich, talented, a doctor, obsessed with his son's nanny, protective, can't keep his eyes and hands off Daisy, golden retriever, gentleman, respectful, makes consent so dayum hawt, needs her 😏 and doesn't care who knows it 🥵 Manny's always liked Daisy, the dove eyed woman who caught his heart since the moment he saw her 🥹 Him being shy had me 😩 Literally, just when I thought he couldn't get hotter and more perfect! He is so in love with her that he made me tear up.

Daisy Hart 😏 You get it Queen!! Beautiful, intelligent, independant, sunshine, protective, sassy, naughty 😌, equally obsessed with the single dad, owner of the local yoga studio, patient, adores her family and their friends, been in love with the hawt doctor since day one, respectful and everything to Manny and Tommy 🥹 Daisy is one of my favourite FMC's of all time. Her character is so beautifully written. She's always thought that she was the only one falling for Manny, but one afternoon rocks her entire world 😏 I won't reveal it!!

This novella is everything I was looking and hoping for. The writing, characters, storyline and crossover with Azalea Creek characters 😍🧡 I could not stop giggling! The spice 😈 Oh Liss, I was blushing!! Give me 10 more!

I loved returning to Azalea Creek and getting to see the whole crew again! Manny and Daisy were such a cute pairing, and the fact that she already got along so well with Tommy was such an added bonus. With it being a novella, the story moves so quick. I would have loved to have a whole story for them, but I understand that this was just a quick holiday story, and it was adorable for how quick it went. While they were both pining, it switches real quick once he hears her...in his room...when she has offered to clean the basement, and she has decided that Manny deserves to come home to a clean home after a long day at the hospital. The story is only 144 pages long, and even then, those pages fly by quickly. I really enjoyed the banter with the group of guys as they gave Manny a hard time for “being old” and trying to get back into the dating scene. But also their heartfelt moments too were a great reminder that even if our Azalea guys are sassy and can give each other the hardest of times, they really do have each others backs. The way the girls rallied around Daisy too was so sweet. With Daisy and Manny not technically being related to anyone, seeing the McAlister clan bring them into the fold as if they were just proves that family isn’t always blood, but also who you choose.

If you’re craving a cozy, feel-good romance with a dash of spice and a heap of heart, Harvest of Love by Liss Montoya delivers exactly that. Set during Thanksgiving, this novella is part of the Love and Leftovers series and features a swoon-worthy single dad, a charming nanny, and the kind of mutual pining that makes you grin from ear to ear.

Daisy and Manny’s chemistry is AH-MAZING. From their first spark to the slow burn of their connection, Montoya crafts a relationship that feels both tender and tantalizing. The age gap and single dad dynamics add emotional depth, making their bond feel authentic and earned. Manny’s quiet strength and Daisy’s warmth create a dynamic that’s both comforting and compelling.

What makes Harvest of Love truly shine is Montoya’s signature style; her Latinx representation, heartfelt storytelling, and spice, it’s the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. Daisy and Manny’s relationship is built on tender moments, but it’s also laced with a simmering tension that crackles beneath the surface. Montoya masterfully blends emotional intimacy with swoon-worthy heat, creating a romance that feels both comforting and electric. It’s the kind of story that warms your heart and sends butterflies fluttering, proving that love can be both soft and sizzling.

A huge thank you to Liss Montoya for the early copy!

This One’s a Cozy Lil Cinnamon Roll of a Romance!

Besties… I just finished "Harvest In Love" and my heart feels like it got wrapped in a soft flannel and handed a pumpkin spice latte. 🧡 After a streak of dark, dark reads, this sweet little Thanksgiving novella was the perfect reset. Daisy is pure sunshine. She's a yoga instructor, kind soul, and total heart-healer. While Manny is the cinnamon-roll single dad who made me melt. The Doctor x Nanny tension... Delicious. The mutual pining... Adorable. And the group texts?! Had me giggling!

This story is cozy without being bland, spicy without being over the top, and full of that “love finds you when you least expect it” energy. Small-town charm, emotional warmth, and all the feel-good vibes you crave after too much dark fiction.

If your TBR has been all angst and chaos lately, this one’s your perfect fall reset! 🍂🍁

Arc Review

First off I would like to thank Liss for the opportunity to read & review this gifted e-arc

Daisy & Manny
Y'all this book was the absolute cutest! I loved it so much, this is a very fast paced Novella and so freaking cute. Ugh I absolutely loved Daisy & Manny so much. It was so fun watching them both being into the other while slowly finding the courage to ask the other out was so fun & I absolutely love that Daisy wasn't afraid to go for it. I loved that Manny finally told Daisy what he wanted and made it happen while keeping his son Tommy at the forefront of his mind. Seeing them become a little family was so cute.

5/5 recommend this book. Y'all this is the second book I've read by Liss and absolutely loved. I know I gotta read her blacklist and I will but this Novella is the perfect book to get you ready for Fall/Thanksgiving . Also the found family in this one is strong and beautiful and I need more please!

Ever since Dr Manny was introduced in Unraveling Rain, I've been wondering when his story would be told. The wait is over! This single dad thinks he's too old for love, but his ray of sunshine nanny is ready to challenge that. Daisy may be Azalea Creek's resident yoga instructor, but her nanny job is the financial security she needs to survive. Falling in love with the handsome town doctor and his son were just bonuses.

These two are falling head over heels in a mutual slow burn with pining galore. I loved how they both had found families built from the other residents of the town, who are the characters featured in previous stories in the author's Kinsmen Billionaires and Azalea Creek series. Getting glimpses of my favorite people while diving into new perspectives of this world was a true joy! This author has a way of drawing in your attention with a sweet and cozy story, wrapped in ribbons of spice and steam. You can feel the tension between Manny and Daisy with each page.

4⭐️ ARC REVIEW: This was so freaking cute!! Daisy & Manny are the best book couple out there and you can’t convince me otherwise there story is adorable. I love how Daisy was basically apart of manny’s family from the start with her being Tommy’s Nanny and Manny is such a wholesome, romantic person they are perfect for each other. I loved seeing the two of them come together and grow as a couple it was really sweet. I liked the Spanish aspect in this and the way Manny would occasionally speak in Spanish it made him a more unique character. I love Daisy she is just the sweetest girl ever and her relationship with Tommy and how she treats him like her own is so lovely to see. The whole book was really fast paced and really sweet. Its the perfect book to read when the weather is cold and you just want to get cosy.

I was excited to find myself back in Azalea Creek for this Thanksgiving holiday novella. We met both Manny and Daisy in the first book in the series, though this could definitely be read as a standalone.

The plot was typical of a small town nanny x single dad romance, with the holiday theme layed over it.

I think my main gripe with this one was that there was so much that I found unrealistic (and this is coming from someone who loves a good instalove story). From the scene that led to the near first kiss, to Manny’s behaviour in general, it meant that I never felt connected to the characters or their relationship.

If you’re on the look out for a quick small town holiday read and enjoy an OTT, knows what he wants and is willing to say it MMC, this is for you!

Thank you to the author for the eARC

Harvest of Love is a Novella by Liss Montoya .A wonderful quick read, that got straight to the point. Single dad, a Nanny, and a small town. We meet single dad Manny, who as full custody of his son, after a divorce. Daisy starts to work for Manny as a nanny and when his son goes to his mothers Thanksgiving things change. Daisy comes over while Manny is at work, and let me leave it there. Harvest of Love has some of our favorite characters from Liss's Azalea Creek series ( which trust me you don't want to miss). A book with a funny group chat let alone two funny group chats( the name of the chats are so original). This book has age gap, friends turned family, and all the same town fun. You can read this book as a standalone, you will meet other characters from Liss's other books and get a small introduction to characters that will have their stories told very soon.

Harvest of Love by Liss Montoya is a short Thanksgiving Novella that takes place in Azalea Creek.

Manny is a doctor and single dad starting over in the small town. When he gained custody of his son he hired Daisy as his son’s nanny. Daisy is a local yoga studio owner and Manny’s weakness.

When Manny’s son is away for thanksgiving, a series of events lead to Manny and Daisy seeing if the attraction they feel is more than that.

Overall their story is full of spice, tension and true moments between them. I enjoyed the interaction of all other Azalea Creek characters and love the fact that it could still be read as a standalone. The story is perfect to set the reader into holiday mood and I totally recommend reading this cozy story.

"For some reason, Bittersweet Symphony by The Verve starts playing in my head - my soundtrack for core memories. It played in my head when Tommy was born, and again the first time he said Papi."

Daisy & Manny (& Tommy). He's a single dad, she's the nanny. I can't get enough of the world of Azalea Creek! This was a great novella which moved fast and was so satisfying. They are both sweet and he's so goofy and nervous. We don't get a lot of Tommy but we do get a chapter and he is just the cutest. They are spicy hot and so loving. I loved the openness of these two and of course, their friends and family were just dreams. I enjoyed reading this and can't wait until the next Azalea Creek book.

I received a complimentary eARC and my review is voluntary. Thank you to the author.

Harvest of Love is a novella that takes place in Azalea Creek and yes we will meet some of our beloved characters from Unraveling Rain. However this novella is about Dr Manny and the goat yoga instructor who also happens to be Dr Manny son's nanny.

It was just as amazing as I thought it would be and to you Liss I just want to say that you once again had me crying and falling for your characters. Now I can't wait to get my hands on your Christmas novella and Tempting Miles.

If you are looking for a quick and short read that is cutesy and takes place during the fall/Thanksgiving with age gap (12 years) and mutual pining then I would recommend this one, especially if you have read Lodged and Unraveling Rain.

I loved this book! It was my first single dad and nanny trope book, but it delivered! Even though I wish this was a full length novel, this book has everything, including the magic that the holiday season brings.

While short, this book has the absolute BEST group text chat sections and revisits some favorite characters from previous books. There's tons of Easter eggs and call backs to other novels of Liss's and it was all around a fun read. This can be read in one sitting, and pairs perfectly with a lit fireplace or a nice candle. Bonus points if the candle is citrus and/or musk.

Thank you, Liss Montoya, for the ARC opportunity. This honest review has been left voluntarily.

Another wonderful book from the Azalea Creek universe! I loved the incorporation of past couples and characters from Azalea Creek into this novella, and the fact that the guys and girls had two big group chats is iconic. Manny and Daisy's relationship was really sweet; I really liked how he had no reservations about showing his adoration for her. Overall, Manny was such a hot mmc; Liss Montoya never fails to write a swoon-worthy man! For it being a novella, I felt like we still got quite a bit of substance to their relationship and it built up nicely. Thank you very much to Liss Montoya for allowing me to arc-read this novella!

I don't think I've ever read a Thanksgiving romance before and I'm so glad this was my first one. Harvest of Love included all my favorite tropes and Liss delivered on the single dad x nanny trope spectacularly. Manny and Daisy were absolutely perfect for one another. She was so sweet with Tommy and treated him like her own almost instantly. She loves big and Manny and Tommy were on the receiving end of her big heart from beginning to end. It was a blast revisiting Azalea Creek and the awesome group of friends and family we get to love there. I'm looking forward to my next trip to this charming small town soon!

This is part of a group of authors writing short Steamy stories for Thanksgiving.
Single Dad, Age Gap and off Limits Nanny romance.
I liked this as it was quick with great plot line and didn't feel like we missed out. It was bit like we can imagine what happened for them to get here. As always the group chat they have lots of fun on it. Great to see the other characters again.
Manny was sweet, kind and super caring.
Daisy was amazing and equally kind and loving. Tommy already loves her and is ready for her to be part of the family.
Great, warm Thanksgiving romance.

wooooweeeeee. I would have ate up a full length story about Daisy and Manny. It's quick, fun, romantic, and gets a bit spicy! You're getting a quick, and to the point Nanny/single Dad romance here. Liss writes in a way that will drag you into the story form the very beginning and you'll be extremely invested in the characters the entire time. I love her writing, and will continue to come back for me.

If you're looking for a quick, Fall-esk romance, I would absolutely recommend this for you!

This is an amazing read for the upcoming holiday season!🍂 It has my favorite tropes , Single dad and Age gap 😏! It’s such a great read if you are in the mood for something that is fast pace with hallmark vibes and a dash of spice🤭.This is part of the Azalea Creek Universe however it can be read as a standalone. I love that it also contains one of my favorite songs by Marc Anthony.

A sweet and spicy little novella thats part of the Azalea Creek stories. This is the story of Doc Manny who we meet in Book 1 of the series and his HEA with Daisy Hart, the yoga instructor and nanny to Manny's little boy Tommy. Both have crushes on each other for the longest time but neither say anything until Manny takes the first step. After that, its a whirlwind of romance, swoon and spice! A quick read to drop us back into Azalea Creek while we wait for book 2!

This was the perfect way to start off the fall season. A spicy, sweet, quick read to kick off the season. I loved the scenery and how just reading it’s like stepping into a hallmark type fall town. Fall is my favorite season and Azalea Creek is the fall small town. I loved the flash backs as a way to provide depth and character to our characters rather than a long introduction. It is a fast paced romance but they’ve known each other for a while so it wasn’t as single look and they were in love, which I really liked.

ARC Review:

What a cute and heartwarming Holiday Novella. This story has it all; age gap, a cinnamon roll hot doctor, a beautiful young yoga instructor aka the nanny, an amazing connection and let’s not forget the spicy.

Manny and Daisy’s attraction is immediate, and he still hires her to be his son Tommy’s nanny. It was great to see them both let loose and move on their feelings for one another. I highly recommend this book.
