Mistberry Cove #1

The Knotty Truth About Alphas

Rate this book
His voice has ruined me for real men. Low. Dirty. Addictive.

Joe Hamilton’s audiobooks don’t just tell a story. They hijack my body, dragging me right to the edge of heat with nothing but sound. I’ve listened to every one of his romance books. More than once. He’s a fantasy. A voice without a face. Until I hear it in real life.

I’m headed to Mistberry Cove for an undercover job. The plan is blend in, gather proof on an Alpha-led company, and leave before anyone figures out who I really am. But then I board the ferry and hear his voice. Joe. In the flesh. The man behind every sinful whisper that’s ever made me come undone. When he speaks to me, I practically forget how to breathe. My body reacts before my brain catches up, and I fangirl so hard I forget why I’m even here.

Then I spot the Beta from my old pack who sat silent while they voted me out like I was nothing. The sting hits sharp and fast, twisting through the years I spent trying to rebuild what they had shattered. And I already know the complications are just beginning.

Because when I show up to my new job undercover, I bump into Joe again. And three more Alphas who already work there make ignoring my heat impossible. They’re watchful, magnetic, and far too perceptive.

I came to do a job, not fall for a pack.

But someone from my old life has followed me to Mistberry Cove, and they didn’t come to make peace.

If my secret is revealed, I won’t just lose the mission.

I’ll lose the fragile control I’ve fought years to rebuild.

And I don’t know if I could survive falling for a pack only to be rejected all over again.

This standalone RH Omegaverse romance blends simmering heat with small-town secrets and biting wit. Perfect for readers who crave undercover tension, forbidden bonds, and dangerously tempting Alphas who are obsessed with her—and only her.

This is a Mistberry Cove Novel.

This book was a little disappointing for me and I am so torn on what to rate this book.

First of all, I think the blurb is wrong. It sets a tone but that's not entirely what happened. The beta being in there kind of sets up the impression that this is a second chance romance for him. Dude is literally there so fmc can meet one mmc. Which she would have meet the next day anyways.

And the bits about someone from her past following her there for nefarious reasons? What?! Literally a stupid point that felt more like checking a box for one second than anything related to the plot.

I think I could have enjoyed the story more if the blurb gave me more realistic expectations than it did. Until a certain thing happened anyways.

Character wise, she was fine. There is something off about her that I can't quite pinpoint but it makes her a tab unlikeable.

The guys on the other hand? How old are they? They supposed to be grown men who run a successful business and have money and are hot and therefore people want them. But aside from when she first meets the narrator and the two in the cafe, they totally gave immature, high school jock vibes. From the way they talked and acted to the tropes they embodied. Their povs also sounded the same and they felt very shallow. Honestly if you asked me to describe them my answer would just be "supposedly hot."

And the female friend? Very suspicious. I spent the whole book feeling like she was going to betray her. I blame the picture part and the fact their friendship felt surface deep. But it feels like the next book will be hers but I don't care because she feels flat.

My biggest, BIGGEST issue about this book is the fact that the truth had just came out and the characters were not in any way in a relationship Gave me the ick and while i finished the book because I hate not knowing when I feel invested in something, it was pretty much over for me at that point.

I absolutely love the ‘pretending to be a man to fit in’ trope. And this very much had the same kind of vibe as ‘She’s the Man’ with some ‘Mrs. Doubtfire’ thrown in.
Hilarious, anxiety inducing, but completely hilarious.
And hot..so hot.
The men’s dirty talk was top tier.

This was such a fun story. Anita was was awesome. She is an omega determined to help other Omegas. I love how she goes about her investigating and all the trouble she gets into. Love the twist at the end and how everything worked out. Hope we get more stories from other characters in this book.

Wow I absolutely loved this story and i think it's going to be one of my favourites so far. With a small town romance set in Mistberry cove. With Anita who's had struggles in her past and has built a new life for her self. Giving a voice to those who need advice on her radio show the Heat line. Which leads Anita to go under cover as Ash and work for the Wilde Charters as a Beta male. But trying to juggle between two identities is going to be pretty difficult. Not to mention the instant attraction that she's having with her four Alphas. Especially with Slater and that deep voice that nearly had her on her knees and blew her cover. And at one point i got super emotional for her wondering if things were going to be ok. Luckily she'll have her four guys and they'll show her how a true Pack takes care of there Omega. And boy what a roller coaster of a ride. Hidden identities, sexy Alphas, the villan of the story and a swoon worthy ending while also making me laugh and with amazing characters which I absolutely love. and i think Mason and Dylan where my favourites especially with that bonus chaper. So i can't wait to read what happens next in the series

Disappointed & Confused

The premise of the story started out quite interesting. But then there was some continuity issues The main female character had done two previous investigative reporting assignments and yet on this one she had no idea what she was doing and completely bummed the intention of her assignment. Then when her identity is found out she's super apologetic about the purpose of her assignment even though she was right in why she went in undercover. So backtracking on that was very frustrating. The way the book ended was good and I encourage everybody to give it their own read. I may check out the next one when it's released.

I very much enjoyed this story in the beginning. It felt cozy and different from all the other omegaverses I’ve read.

However, if there were a way to reach into my kindle and strangle Anita, there would be a memorial by now. I just don’t understand how someone who has supposedly investigated two other businesses for pushing out Omegas, can quickly fall apart in this new assignment, in what I’m sure was less than a week. I thought the idea of her going as Ash was ridiculous. If you’re trying to find the truth of this business being rude and hateful towards Omegas, wouldn’t it be better to experience it first hand as, let’s say, an Omega? I get disguising as a Beta male, you might learn some things that you wouldn’t as an Omega. But the idea of the disguise was ridiculous. I kept imagining that giant fake nose and glasses with giant bushy eyebrows.

Her getup was screaming, I’m a fraud!

I did like the idea of Anita being a radio host who supported Omegas and gave them the voice they desperately deserved. It added that touch of realism that I can’t help but feel is a parallel to society at the moment.

And then the female friend comes in. I, honestly, don’t even remember her name. We meet her at most five times in the entire book, and only at the convenience of Anita. I’ve always hated it when side characters were treated as the “helper” or the “shoulder to cry on” person. They have real problems too, real emotions. We do get a brief bit about her and her ex, but it was short, and then she didn’t show back up until later for a fun spa trip, only to then disappear completely, never to be heard from again.

Thrown away like trash.

And then there is the reveal. For the disguise that didn’t hold up for even a week. I get Anita feeling things based on instinct and them being her scent match, but it was quite sad, really. Once it was revealed, it was her disguised as Ash, I wanted to slap her. Mostly because she was trying to get close to Jasper after having lied and deceived him and the other guys. I wanted to reach in and throw her back overboard because, how dare she feel she had the right to touch him after that??

But the guys don't get to wallow for very long.

Nope, with them being scent matches, they didn’t want to lose Anita, even though they never officially dated. But scent matches are rare, and most people never find their matches. Which I get. But to just come out and form a bond with Anita, without asking for consent, especially after it has been stated multiple times, they weren’t sure what they were going to do or if they could even trust her again. But after a bit of grovelling-not-grovelling (because there wasn’t enough, in my opinion), and to bond with her when she hadn’t fully come to terms with what they were, especially after her trauma with her old pack? I cannot.

And it happened twice. The other two at least asked.

“The mark ensures that everyone knows you’re claimed. That you belong to us."

But the first one, with Slater, I found funny considering he put the bond mark right on her tit. So, unless she plans to go free the nip, nobody is gonna know she has one.

Not sure how that’s gonna work.

And then there is her old pack.

I really expected them to play a bigger role in this book, given it’s written right in the synopsis. But there is hardly anything. From the Beta on the ferry and then the one, lowly Alpha at the end, there was nothing else. The idea of them was more of an enigma, something to force the story forward because of the past trauma. A bit misleading since, without them, it would change nothing in the story.

I will say, the smut wasn't it. Maybe in the beginning it was fine. But the guys keep talking. And talking. And talking. It got just plain weird to me. And then the end... two guys in the front, one in the back, and one in front of her... I was befuddled.

I went in completely blind. New author to me and have so many of her books on my tbr I thought, hey why not. This did not disappoint, and I have a new favourite author.
The writing style is addictive and flows so well. And the characters suck you in and make you obsessed. The storyline itself was incredible and different. I love every moment of it. This is low angst, high spice, and any tension that arises is resolved quickly. Highly recommend.

DNF.
It started intriguing. Started sputtering a bit in the middle. I didnt end up finishing it after the main plot line was completed. Was not very invested in the characters and dont care to see the rest of the same universe stories develop. Interesting setting, but that's all I really remember and will chose to remember. Kinda harsh, yes. But its true, at least for my experience.

If you love your Omegaverse with bite, banter, and a heroine who refuses to stay broken, The Knotty Truth About Alphas by Harley Knight absolutely delivers.

This book has everything I want in an OV instant connection, layered tension, protective (but not overbearing) alphas, emotional growth, and a storyline that keeps you hooked beyond just the heat.

Anita is not your typical omega. Once heartbroken and rejected by her former pack, she takes that pain and forges it into something powerful. She’s independent, strong willed, and runs an anonymous radio show dedicated to helping other omegas find their voice. She doesn’t just talk about change she investigates it. Undercover missions? Yes, please.

That’s what brings her to the fog-kissed town of Mistberry Cove.

Armed with a tip about omegas mysteriously leaving a local charter company, Anita does what she does best she digs. Disguised as her fake, non existent twin brother “Ash,” she infiltrates Wilde Charters, determined to uncover the truth.

What she finds? Four very unexpected alphas.

Slater the man with the voice omegas fantasize about.
Jasper the steady, grounding protector.
Mason and Dylan the inseparable, chaotic duo whose banter and antics had me laughing out loud.

Their chemistry is effortless. Their dynamic feels real. And what I loved most? They prove themselves to be genuinely supportive, capable leaders not domineering caricatures. Forgiveness in this story isn’t handed out freely either. It’s messy. It’s earned.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a proper investigation without a villain and enter the sleazy rival radio host preaching about omegas knowing their “place.” He’s the kind of character you love to hate, and let’s just say when a certain someone finally gets exactly what he deserves? I was downright giddy.… there’s definitely rot in Mistberry Cove but I had my suspicions about where it truly lay.

There were a couple things I wish we’d gotten more of like deeper answers about Anita’s ex-pack being in town and more reasoning behind certain side characters’ presence. And while I adore a devoted pack, I wouldn’t have minded seeing Anita work a little harder to rebuild that trust. We all love a groveling alpha but a little grovel from the omega side can make it even sweeter.

One of my favorite touches was the town legend: when the mist rolls in, it’s said the Norns are weaving changes into your fate. That mystical thread gave the story such a cozy, magical undertone like destiny itself was hovering just out of sight.

And Nina? I truly hope she gets her happily ever after. She deserves it.

This story is romantic, funny, spicy, and layered with just enough mystery to keep you turning pages. If you love strong omegas, supportive alphas, found family, and a small town setting with secrets swirling in the mist this one is absolutely worth the read.

📌 Voluntary review. No compensation just one reader who was completely and unexpectedly obsessed.

I’m unfortunately going to have to Dnf this book.
I made it 39% in and it’s not a terrible book! It’s actually really well written, you can tell the author is a good author, solid ideas, clean execution. On paper there is nothing wrong with the style of writing or with the ideas at all.

My problem with it is that it feels over done. By that I mean it’s giving early 2000s fanfiction, it’s giving cheesy hallmark movie. Which again, not a bad thing and in fact, many people find that comforting in a cozy read and I agree that it can be those things. I just personally did not want to read a book like that anymore.

I had to DNF it at the point where her omega friend, in a dire need of a girls night out, decides to go to a club. I had to put the book down. The club aspect of these books are so overdone. I’ve read about 200 twilight fan-fictions where it’s all the same plot and this is exactly what it is. The club.
She’s getting ready, she’s wearing a black thong and a low-cut jean and a halter top and all of a sudden her podcast that she’s supposed to be on schedule for is getting postponed for the evening (incredibly last minute by the way) and her manager person is just totally OK with it. Beyond OK with it, she’s thrilled that the FMC is taking a break. Even though the day before she was hesitant and worried for the FMC because she’s already falling in love with everybody and that she needs to be careful and not to lose sight of her priority and why she’s there.

The club scenes are so predictable. I didn’t even make it past her getting in her friends car before I Dnfd it because I already knew the boys were gonna be there, or they were gonna get wind that she was there and then show up and then there was gonna be groping and everybody’s making out and touching each other in the tiny packed club with the pulsing music and sweaty bodies. It’s overplayed and personally nothing says immature writing more to me than these club scenes. It’s just out of place forced and it just goes to show that the author couldn’t come up with a creative way to get everybody together to really push them to begin their physical relationship. The minute she started talking about her thong I was out. Not because people can’t wear thongs, love a thong, I just knew what kind of book it was gonna be. And to me that’s very immature.

I just saw the direction the story was going and didn’t want to continue personally. Again, nothing wrong with the actual writing or the story in and of itself, I just have a hard time getting on board with the super instant connection with the friends and the super Insta love. I think there’s a way to do it within the omega verse that makes it feel natural to their specific situations, but this was not it for me.

Harley does again with another cozy Omegaverse read! This book has everything I want in an OV! There’s instant connections that continue to build throughout the story.

Anita is an independent, strong willed Omega who runs her own anonymous radio show about helping Omegas. She’s done a few undercover missions to get to the truth about topics that potentially harm or undermine Omegas. This is what brings her to the small town of Mistberry Cove, going undercover as a Beta male to find the truth about a pack of Alphas who run Wilde Charters to see if they are mistreating Omegas. She definitely uncovers things but it’s not what she thought.. she realizes she’s in deep with these men and that also their her scent matches. When her secret finally comes out there is some hurt and betrayal. This was a good growth and bonding moment in the book between them all. I loved the groveling and rebuilding of trust. The spicy scenes brought the HEAT!!🔥🔥perfect balance of plot and spice! The guys really cherish her. After being rejected by a previous pack these alphas made her feel wanted, cared for and loved. They also supported her mission to take down the rival radio host who spews toxic masculinity garbage to the masses. The plot flowed effortlessly!

The pack:
Her first encounter with “Joe Hamilton” had me giggling. He’s the audiobook narrator that she’s had several fantasies about.
“𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐥 𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈’𝐝 𝐬𝐚𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮.”
𝙃𝙚 𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙚𝙨 𝙝𝙚𝙧 💦𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙫𝙤𝙞𝙘𝙚

I loved Slater, Mason, Dylan and Jasper! Dylan and Mason are so funny together and make a great team 👀👀 Jasper is such a protector and loves to praise her. They each have different dynamics that make the perfect balance. I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Harley’s writing always keeps me engaged! If you want a cozy, spicy omegaverse read with a HEA then add this to your TBR!

Why Choose
Female Omega
Four Alphas

This was such a fun book to read! It literally had me laughing out loud and covering my face at some of the parts! Anita, our FMC, was easy to love. She got rejected by her last pack and was set on not finding another one. She’s independent and started her own radio show where she gets down to the truth, whether is good or bad, about Alphas. Her current project is to find out whether the group of Alphas that run a boating company wrongfully fire omegas. She goes undercover as her “twin beta brother” (it’s hilarious her trying to be a male beta) to find out if they’re really prejudiced or not.

As soon as she steps foot on the ferry to the island she meets Slater aka the voice to all her dark audiobooks. Obviously she’s instantly in love. Because the voice definitely matches the looks. Next stop, the coffee shop where she meets the most handsome Alpha, Mason, who is such a sweetheart. I won’t give away how they meet because it is hilarious! His buddy Ryan was with him, but she didn’t get introduced to him. When she goes to check in to her apartment she meets the landlord, Jasper, who is very attractive and attentive. How is a girl to call off all alphas after meeting these four in a single day??

The next day she goes to work as her “twin brother” and guess who the Alpha bosses are?? The four she met yesterday! And they’re a pack!

She’s got her work cut out for her and it’s not an easy road to HEA with the deceit on her part, but they get there and their story is beautiful. The guys were never bad Alphas and the omegas who accused them of it are actually the ones who did wrong. So Anita switches up her show to go after the biggest bad there is- Reed. The “Alpha” of another radio show who has a very old mindset on how Alphas are at the top and omegas are nothing more than slaves. The guys agree to help her take him down and the outcome? Oh you’re going to love it!

The guys an are amazing and so easy to love. The story was probably my favorite from all I’ve read so far! I definitely will be doing a reread!

A Disguise I Loved, A Reveal I Didn’t

I was having so much fun at the beginning of this book. I love stories where a woman disguises herself as a man, and the interactions between her and the male characters while she was in disguise were hilarious. The attraction and tension between them, despite not knowing her secret, made those scenes especially entertaining.

However, when her secret was finally revealed, I didn’t like the way it was handled. The scene felt very jarring, and the hurt and pain everyone experienced pulled me out of the story. After that moment, I found it difficult to enjoy the book the same way. While the characters were trying to heal and rebuild their relationships, the tone shifted so much that the story stopped feeling fun for me. I ended up skimming a lot toward the end just to finish it.

I also didn’t like the line where they say they won’t give up on her because she’s their “scent match.” To me, that took away from who she is as a person rather than valuing her for herself.

Another issue I had was how quickly the story moved from one investigation to another. Right after finishing one case, she immediately jumps into taking down the host of a rival radio show. I think that time would have been better spent rebuilding the relationships between the characters and allowing everyone time to heal and interact more before moving into intimate scenes and her heat.
It also felt a bit strange that so much focus was placed on targeting one radio host when the problem seemed to be a much larger societal issue involving many people who share those beliefs. That said, the reveal of that man’s secret was actually very interesting.

Overall, this was a unique story, and I would still recommend it to others. I just wish some of the major reveals and emotional moments had been handled a little differently. I also would have loved to see more scenes featuring her partner who narrates audiobooks, especially using his voice more during the intimate moments.

I liked the premise from the description, but the execution had a lot of issues for me.

What I liked:
- the picturesque, small coastal town
- the premise

What I didn't like (a lot):
- we get some good description of the small town at the beginning, but that's the extent of the small town cozy
- her new baking bestie had a few appearances but disappears after the first half
- the FMC is so terrible at pretending to be a guy that it went beyond funny/silly and became annoying, making her look like an idiot
- some things just feel thrown in, like they were ideas the author felt they had to include but didn't feel fully blended into the story--more like small plot devices that are mixed in clunkily (the beta from the previous pack, the alpha from the previous pack, the bitchy neighbor, etc)
- the whole timeline feels rushed, weird, or doesn't make sense. Everything seems like it takes place within about a week--most in the first 3 days. She mentions how she had her last heat like a week before she came out, but then says she's due for her next heat in a few weeks. So do omegas have a heat every month in this OV? no idea. on that note....
- there is no world building here and a lot of it feels awkward. what are the heat cycle timelines? how does bonding work? (aside from emotions flooding the initial bond when created, it's like it doesn't exist)
- insta-lust/love is over the top even for scent matches in an OV
- we get pretty much no backstory on anyone with the exception of the FMC having a bad experience with her last pack (does she have any family? where did she grow up? nada), a super quick paragraph explaining how the guys met, and a little about Slater (although, I was confused since I thought he mentioned his old pack was toxic and he didn't stand up for his omega, but later we're told she'd just left him? I dunno, it wasn't really explained?)
- I always hate

The whole thing felt clumsy, and I don't think I'll try this author again.

I wanted to love this. It's got a strong FMC, the MMCs are emotionally mature, the undercover vibe-frequently my jam. I also particularly like the voice of this novel, which isn't always the case.

There's not a ton of world building-if you are new to omega-verse, this is not the book to start with.
Not all omega verse worlds are the same-some have omegas going in to heat every month, others every 6 months. It's never indicated within the beginning which case this is. It also has some... what I would call...borderline non-con.

I have no idea of the time frame this book takes place over either. It seems like the space of 2 weeks? And then BAM the 'surprise' at the end-not a surprise at all.
There are also no background characters except for Nina, a single 'desperate' waitress who hits on Slater and the guy Nina goes home with. None of them are fleshed out.
I ALMOST FORGOT. I also absolutely CAN NOT handle when the MMCs 'grope' themselves during shmexy times. I don't think that word has the connotations the author was going for...

OMG! Those was so so Good!!!
Anita is an Omega and Investigative Journalist who has put her talents to use as a Radio Show Host. She recieves a tip about a company that has been making Omega employees leave under mysterious circumstances. So she does what she does best.... investigate!
She shows up as herself and meets 3 Alphas!
First Joe... the Alphas who's audio book voice can send her into heat just hearing it.
then Mason... the ver6 hot Alpha she... well blew sugar all over.. no thats not a code for something, lol, get your mind outta the gutter! It legit happened at a bakery!
third is Jasper... the landlord with the ice blue eyes and soon to be her boss
So she is suppose to be living with her "brother" Ash... he doesn't exist. Its her in disguise... and she makes a horrible male... Just saying!
Anyway enter the 4th Alpha Dylan... the jokster of the bunch!
Oh did I mention all 4 are her new bosses... err "his" new bosses!
So they have already met Anita the "sister"... who happens to be their scent match! And Ash just makes them think he's weird but they'll accept him if he's a good worker and becuae they want his sister! Yeah like thats not gonna come back bite her right?!
As she gets to know them she finds these allegations cannot possibly be true. could they? And thats not all! Enter yet another Aplha, but this one she hates!
He has a rival Radio Show about how Alphas need to be stronger and know how to put their Omegas in there "rightful" place!!
So yes there is definitely someone to investigate in this little town but she doubts it has to do with her Alphas and more to do with the sleezeball Alpha!!!
And let me tell you this book had me on puns and needles!! Loved every minute and cannot wait for the next book!! aim honestly hoping its gonna be about Nina!!! She needs her own book!!!

This is the first book in the Mistberry Cove series! Let me tell you, when I first heard about this book I was so excited it had every trope I love. Anita our MFC is an investigative journalist who uses her tools and skills as a radio host to out and expose those who mistreat Omegas. She’s also a girl who loves her an audiobook (which honestly, same girl). As she makes her way to Mistberry Cove she runs into one of our MMC’s who we first know as ‘Joe’ our favorite audiobook narrator. Honestly I was giggling, kicking my feet from the first meeting. I was hooked by the first chapter (which doesn’t happen very often for me to be honest).

She goes undercover as a family member, her ‘brother’. At a company she’s received a tip about. Here we meet all of our MMC’s and to be honest I was laughing the whole time as she pretended to be a male, and tried her best to get the information she could. As we learn about her past, and what little she can about the company, a lot happens. From the beginning to the end, I was hooked. I literally finished this book in a day if it’s any indication of how good this was, and how it was written.

I cannot recommend this book enough, the characters were well written, the found family is there, and it hits all the checkmarks! I loved each character, even though Slater was my favorite, I mean who doesn’t love a dominate man? 🤭 If you’re a fan of any of these tropes. Read this! You won’t regret it I promise.

- Anita as Ash is hilarious lol! Also gives major secondhand embarrassment 🙈 lol the muscle flexing when “Ash” meets Jasper lol.🤣
- Nina is the ride or ☠️ friend everyone needs.
- These alphas were the definition of hunky rugged office alphas and they really were chef’s kiss.
- I loved the Norse Mythology added into the book. I’m not going to sit here and say I know much of anything about it but it was unique and was a perfect addition to the setting this book had.🖤
- Mason’s & Dylan’s dynamics were so good, literally the most funny duo.
- I’m picking my favorite, I know I know.. why choose? But there’s just something about a man who gives “F off” vibes but melts for her. Jasper is that MMC to me. He’s a big teddy bear alpha who fell so hard for Anita. Loved him.

- There really wasn’t groveling from Anita. Everyone wants the alphas to grovel in books, but omegas don’t need to and that annoys me a bit. She lied and was ready to drag them through the mud but tears and “I’m sorry’s” and head is plenty to forgive her.🤦🏻‍♀️ Slater even said she had more groveling to do but then he bonds her a couple of pages later and we don’t get more of that groveling that he wants her to do. I’m not huge into groveling like most but this situation definitely called for it and she didn’t grovel enough.

Spice🌶️
I wouldn’t consider this a high spice book in terms of pacing. It’s more medium spice. There’s one spice scene in the middle of the book and then we don’t get another until 71% in the book. But I will say that the spice we do get is spicy (4 men at once, use your imagination 🤪😂).

Harley Knight tried to kill me with this one. For the first time ever, there was some romantic tension that made me wonder how bad things between the MCs were going to get. "Oh my god" was the phrase that was on repeat in my head.

I liked Anita. She was a good investigative journalist, and her radio show provided a much-needed platform for omegas, but an actor she was not. Anita goes undercover as a beta male, and she is incredibly bad at it. I have no idea how no one saw through her. But with her lying to the guys and trying to get the dirt on them, you can understand why I was on a knife-edge. It took me a little longer to read this one because of my pausing and commentary. Nevertheless, I had fun reading this. I love that Slater narrated romance audiobooks. Harley took full advantage of it, too. It added a whole new level of steam to the story. The rest of the guys were awesome, too. Anita has a good pack.

This book was both messy and fun. New friends, a bakery I wanted to live in, steamy kisses against the front door, undercover missions, and so much more. One of my favorite scenes happens near the beginning; they're all at a restaurant, and there's good banter, a little teasing, humor, and unexpected steam. It was chaotic and encompassed the entire feeling of this book in that one moment. Things didn't get too bad between the MCs, and the twist was a good one. It sure took me by surprise.

The Knotty Truth About Alphas was another great one by Harley Knight. She continues to prove why she's one of my favorite authors with her memorable characters and heartwarming plots. If I could give this a thousand stars, I would. TKTaA was just the start. I'm so excited for the next book in this series.

Thank you to Harley Knight and her team for a free eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I hate that I read this in four hours because it means it’s already over, but I also love that I read it in four hours because it was that addictive. I will always devour an undercover detective or reporter trope, so when the author announced this book, I was so excited.

One thing I’ve consistently loved about this author is how effortlessly she weaves humor into her stories. It’s such a difficult skill to pull off, to make moments feel genuinely funny without forcing them. She does it so naturally. The characters’ accidental mishaps and humor add so much charm and kept me smiling throughout the book. This book hits everything I love about omegaverse reads. It had sharp banter, delicious tension, and a strong, engaging plot. It felt comforting without ever being boring, balancing emotional depth with fun and momentum.

Our FMC, Anita, is absolutely brilliant. Her determination to help others no matter the cost is what truly makes her shine. The MMCs, Slater, Jasper, Dylan, and Mason, are exactly what she needs, even if it takes time for them all to realize it. While I would have loved a few more chapters from their POVs, the way they integrate into her life kept the story compelling. I also loved the trope reversal where she had to grovel—something we don’t see often in books.

Of course, with investigative journalism comes a villain. At first, I worried the antagonist might feel shoehorned into the story, but I couldn’t have been more wrong. He fit seamlessly into the narrative, adding tension without pulling me out of the story.

I’m genuinely excited to see where this series goes next. I already know which story I want to read, but I trust this author completely. She understands this world, these characters, and exactly how to do them justice. I can’t wait to return to it.

Fate in the Falling Mist

I absolutely loved this story from Harley Knight. I’ve always been fascinated by the secret identity and gender-swapping tropes, and this undercover storyline absolutely took the cake.

Anita, a once heartbroken omega, has turned her pain and rejection into something powerful and beautiful. She now hosts The Heat Line, a radio talk show dedicated to empowering omegas and helping them find their worth in the nitty-gritty of everyday life. When she receives a tip that a charter company in Mistberry Cove is discriminating against omegas, she heads there determined to uncover the truth. Going undercover as her fake, non-existent brother “Ash,” she infiltrates the small company; finds far more than she expected.

The Wilde Charter is owned and run by four incredible alphas. Slater, the man with the dreamy voice omegas fantasize about, Jasper, the steady protector; and Mason and Dylan, who are such a dynamic duo that I can’t even picture one without the other. Their chemistry, banter, and antics had me laughing throughout the story.

These four alphas prove themselves to be not only capable leaders but genuinely supportive men. I especially loved that forgiveness didn’t come easily; it felt real and earned. And I was downright giddy when a certain someone finally got his just desserts.

There’s a legend in town that when the mist descends, it’s the Norns weaving changes into your fate. That mystical touch added such a cozy, magical atmosphere to the story. And I truly hope Nina gets her happily ever after, she absolutely deserves it.

I received a copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is a quick, fun read, and I absolutely loved it! I’m usually not a fan of the single mom trope, but Jenna and her daughter Kailey stole my heart. The guys in this story are genuinely nurturing to both of them. I’m definitely planning to read the other books in the series.

Jenna is an omega who’s lived a quiet life with her 8-year-old daughter, Kailey. Their bond is sweet and heartfelt, and Kailey is a little firecracker who deserves all the happiness she gets. One trip to the zoo changes their lives forever.

The Meyers Pack is made up of three unforgettable alphas. Griffin, the pack leader, is steady and protective, a true teddy bear. Ollie, a children’s book writer, radiates warmth. Jackson is the ultimate grump with a soft center, quietly longing for a family of his own. Watching these men fall wholeheartedly for Jenna and Kailey is heartwarming, and their instant devotion gives the story so much emotional payoff.

On top of that, the Mistberry Cove story with Anita added another layer of excitement. Anita has struggled in her past and built a new life, giving advice on her radio show, the Heat Line. Going undercover as Ash to work for the Wilde Charters as a Beta male while juggling her attraction to four Alphas creates a roller coaster of tension. Slater’s deep voice nearly blew her cover, and I felt so emotional wondering if she would be okay. Her four guys show her how a true Pack cares for their Omega, and the story delivers hidden identities, a swoon-worthy ending, laughs, and amazing characters. Mason and Dylan were my favorites, especially with the bonus chapter. I can’t wait to see what happens next in the series.

Most of us have listened to audiobooks. Those of us that have can absolutely name favorites. Maybe it’s Fourth Wing, or Cat & Mouse Duet, maybe it’s the Lords series… Regardless, we all have that favorite voice actor the one we swear could read us those spicy bedtime stories😉 in this deliciously witty and small town novel, a woman pretty much lives out an audio listeners dream wherein she actually MEETS the voice actor for the audiobooks she’s particularly addicted to listening to. So now that she’s one step ahead of us irl, what happens now? Can she work successfully undercover or will her secrets unravel one by one? Will the ex pack ruin her carefully crafted life? Ohhh one other important detail😉 Our interesting Anita is also a talk show host and she has a rival in that scene… Wondering if these two meet face to face? Read to find out about that and the sparks that fly between Anita and her potential love interest (s).

📖“Joe” - Ferry mechanic by day, Romance “artist” by night… could he get any hotter 🥵 But wait, who’s the woman he was spotted with?
🏡Jasper- Totally swoon worthy, her landlord… and has relationship drama? Is he worth the investment😉
🐺The “Ex-Pack”- Leon & Ethan both see Anita years after she was removed from the pack. Anita wants nothing to do with anything from her past, but they seem to keep showing up….
❤️‍🔥Dylan- Jasper’s co worker, also hot… What is it with this town and producing/hiding hotties??
📱Mason- Totally drool worthy, did I mention hot? Oh and she made him social media famous. He’s also friends with Jasper & Dylan. Everywhere she turns it’s a hot guy! I mean could her job get any harder

This might honestly be my favorite Harley book so far. I’ve loved everything of hers that I’ve read, but this one completely hooked me and I had such a hard time putting it down.
The plot was so unique and fun! An Omega going undercover to investigate a group of Alphas accused of mistreating their employees, juggling multiple identities, disguising herself as her fake brother to infiltrate their company, bad news ex drama, and of course a super steamy romance with four MMCs. It was chaotic in the best way and kept me entertained the whole time.
The setting pulled me in immediately too. The misty seaside town with colorful houses and cozy little shops felt so familiar to me as someone from the PNW, and Harley described everything so vividly that I honestly wished I could live there. And the spa? I’m pretty sure I’ll be dreaming about that place for a while.
The FMC was easy to love from the start. After being rejected by her old pack, she’s made it her mission to help other Omegas and build a more inclusive world for them and I loved that for her.
And the Alphas… each one had such a distinct personality. Sweet and grounded Mason, wild and fun Dylan, moody and intense Slater, and steady, protective Jasper. Watching their individual relationships with her grow and then seeing the group dynamic come together was one of my favorite parts.
And when the romance finally ignites? The spice is off the charts. Every scene, every alpha… perfection. So hot.
I loved this one and will absolutely be reading the next book in the series when it comes out.

There isn't a single liakable charecter.

I wanted to give up on this when they went out for the mandatory work dinner. There was just so much I disliked about that whole situation.

I started skipping a lot more when her identity is revealed EVERYTHING about that was gross, especially after all the insta love between all of them. "She broke our trust"🤢🤮 please, it's been like 5 days.

Anita is undercover trying to investigate a business for potentially discriminating against Omegas, she's pretending to be a beta male. After a boat breaks down, she jumps in the water to save one of the alphas she's investigating who's floating facedown in the water. Why was he floating face down? He was looking for a part the fell off..because he was hoping to spot it at the bottom of the ocean?

Anyway, now the alphas are pissed and she's sad. They said "why didn't you just ask us, we would have told you"? They already covered up the fact the omegas were fired for stealing from them, so we are supposed to believe they would have been forthcoming with that info to a complete stranger?

Once she took to her podcast and apologized and cried on the airwaves, I was done. I tried skipping ahead but then the sauna thing happened and nope🤮

Oh, and in the background, there's an Andrew Tate coded podcast bro, a random ex packmate, and a new BFF who I don't even know why, but is giving off backstabby vibes.

Oh Anita, this omega is pulling out all the stops tho hey the story!
She's a girl in a mission to see if the rompers she hereat after truss.

Heading to the small town of Mistberry she meets and can girls over the voice narrator she listens to, feeling a tug she corkscrew help but whine if it was a sign, but as she was undercover to see if an Alpha run company really was persecuting omegas for now all she do was focus.

Enter the Wilde Pack who sits sided top be whitening for, Slater, a.k.a voice hotter, Jasper, her new land lord, Mason, a man she made interest famous 10 minds after arriving, and Dylan, a sinfully sexy Alpha. All who as Ashe, the beta she's pretending to be can't like. And the craziness ensues.

This book is cute at heck, with the Alphas falling head and heatrs for our omega who is so busy trying to be herself and the alter ego Ash ,who is a male beta, and her own fake twin briber that she is playing while on this assignment that she doesn't know if what she is feeling is to fast or real. Shes wary drive her last pack rejecked her, still she can't keep away so it's a clash of fate and mist and you can't help but low how it goes!!

I was an ARC reader for this book, so glad to be one of the first!

First off, Mistberry cove sounds a mystical, lovely place I'd actually love to visit apart from the hills likely trying to wear me down! I loved Anita's whole career and reason for going to Mistberry Cove in the first place. Her pack: Slater is just panty melting hotness being a dangerously, seductive voice narrator as a side hustle from his main business. Mason is definitely the gorgeous boy next door vibes with his friendliness. Dylan is his partner in crime who shares with Mason and is the genuine laughter and joy in the pack. Lastly we have Jasper whose the caretaker with his protectiveness and loves to cook and care for the others. Really enjoyed all their personalities and how the relationships developed.

Only reason I'm giving this four stars is because I wish we had more of a reason why Anita's ex-pack was in Mistberry as well as some reason behind the ex-beta being on the boat. Second reason is that I kind of wish Anita had to do more to earn the trust of her pack. I know they love her but it felt like she didn't have to grovel at all when the roles are reversed, we love a grovelling alpha.

Still really enjoyed the start of this new universe and can easily recommend it as a fun read! Hoping we get to hear of Nina's story next!
