Ren is loud, brash, and possessive, a far cry from Shino’s calmer, more reserved demeanor. But hey, sparks fly in the most unlikely cases, and this couple can barely keep their hands off each other. Between Ren’s aggressive flirting and Shino’s adorable personality, if one of them isn’t blushing— whoever’s reading along with them sure will be.

OMG! This may be my newest favourite Yuri manga! Great art, fabulous colours everywhere, wonderful artwork in between, a chemistry that is just off the charts, and more! EEEEEP! *dies of yuri overload*

Boy, this doesn’t make even a passing attempt at having a plot. I’m shocked that we even learned how they met towards the end, even. When the mangaka tells you they’re indulging a fetish? Believe them.
Shino and Ren are dating and dating as hot and heavy as might be humanly possible. Pretty much every chapter is an excuse for them to tease one another and get partially naked and/or frisky.
One thing I really enjoyed in this story was the use of colour, which gives some of the pages that aren’t full-colour spreads a dollop of shade that really helps make the art pop. Those spreads, extra bits of horniness drawn from the girls’ viewpoints, are also a clever conceit (and excuse, let’s be honest).
Let’s be real - you are here for one, and only one, reason. There’s nothing here except Shino and Ren getting into a situation and the shy Shino turns out to be the top in said situation to Ren’s bottom (and also her bottom) and shenanigans ensue.
It’s fine, some of the situations certainly generate some serious heat between the two of them and I would by lying to say otherwise. That’s despite the anatomy on display; this may have some of the most unintentionally awkward drawings I’ve seen in a while.
Okay, we’re done here. The girls don’t date so much as they grope and that’s basically all you’re getting. It’s crazy how fast they blow through most every trope in the book, from the nurse’s office to the pool to the storage room.
Will I read more? Oh, probably, let’s not think about it too much. Besides, part of me is morbidly curious to see if they’ll go to a summer festival or an aquarium date and how they’ll manage to ditch their clothes in those scenarios.
3 stars - it has one job and, yes, it achieves that job. There are some interesting artistic flourishes, which oddly contrast with some real wonky anatomy. If you want what it’s offering, you could do worse.

Ce premier tome de Shino et Ren nous plonge dans une histoire douce, intime et pleine de tendresse entre deux lycéennes que tout semble opposer au premier regard. Shino, calme, discrète et posée, forme un duo attachant avec Ren, beaucoup plus énergique, spontanée et presque garçon manqué. Dès les premières pages, on comprend que leur relation est déjà installée, et c’est justement ce qui rend ce manga si agréable : on entre directement dans leur quotidien, sans détour, comme si on observait des instants de vie volés.
Ce manga repose avant tout sur une ambiance. Il n’y a pas de grande intrigue ou de rebondissements spectaculaires, mais plutôt une succession de moments simples, parfois un peu coquins, souvent très doux, qui mettent en avant la complicité entre Shino et Ren. On les suit à l’école, chez elles, ou encore pendant des petits voyages, et chaque scène vient renforcer ce lien unique qu’elles partagent. Le thème principal est clairement celui de l’amour au quotidien. Un amour sincère, naturel, sans drame inutile. Le manga aborde aussi la différence de personnalité dans un couple : Shino, plus réservée, apporte une forme de calme et de douceur, tandis que Ren, plus vive et expressive, insuffle de l’énergie et de la spontanéité. Leur relation fonctionne justement grâce à cet équilibre.
On peut aussi ressentir une certaine exploration de l’intimité, mais toujours traitée avec délicatesse. Les moments plus sensuels ne sont jamais brusques ou dérangeants, ils s’intègrent naturellement dans leur relation et participent à montrer leur proximité émotionnelle. Concernant l’évolution des personnages, elle est assez subtile dans ce premier tome. Ce n’est pas une transformation radicale, mais plutôt un approfondissement. On apprend à mieux comprendre leurs réactions, leurs petites habitudes, leurs façons de s’aimer. Shino semble parfois un peu plus expressive au fil des pages, tandis que Ren laisse entrevoir une facette plus douce et attentive qu’on ne pourrait le penser au premier abord. Leur relation gagne en profondeur à mesure que l’on avance, même sans grand événement marquant.

C’est un manga qui mise tout sur l’ambiance et les émotions plutôt que sur l’action, et ça fonctionne très bien si on se laisse porter. C’est une œuvre idéale si tu cherches quelque chose de léger, tendre, avec une touche d’intimité et beaucoup de complicité. Shino & Ren art style is pretty, I like the character designs, the outfits are cute, and some of my favorite panels are the colorful ones. I thought Shino & Ren are cute, their relationship is cute, the dynamic is interesting however this isn’t a manga that really sticks out to me. I just don’t see myself remembering much about it after my read. Thank you to Edelweiss and the publisher for my complimentary review copy.

3.5 stars. this was a cute story of the relationship between two high school girls. though it was full of tropes, i liked how it inverted the shy x confident dynamic. the art style was also really appealing, though sometimes gratuitous. i don't know if i'd reread it, but i still liked it!

El yuri arcoíris, cada capítulo tiene un color diferente para su duotono. El dibujo como siempre precioso pero con demasiado male gaze para mi gusto, aunque no tanto como otros títulos de la autora.
Es una historia simple que no busca transmitir una tremenda historia y es consciente de ello, acompañado encima de un increíble dibujo con bastante color y personalidad.

Not much plot, but I appreciate how sexual this is when most high school-set yuri goes for "innocent."
Shame the artist is so bad at drawing cleavage, though.
