Ok, with the word “revenge” in the title, I should have realized how bloody and violent this would be.
Be warned, this is DARK. Not bad, but nary a kitten, puppy or rainbow to be found.
It tried for a little humor with the “enemy who really has the hots for the MC H acting all tsundere”, but it just falls flat. The MC H has two gorgeous age-appropriate young ladies around him and all he sees is people he can use who happen to be female. So at least he’s true to character?
The triplet brothers have a matching set of triplet sisters who are mages. Oh, that’s so funny…not. It feels like it is trying too hard. I guess to distract from the OTT violence the MC H is committing. It isn’t working.
Also, the ending was a bit of a cliffhanger, which I didn’t appreciate.
3, I was hoping for better but I do want to continue with this series, stars.

I've been reading a lot of bright ones lately, so the colours felt more subdued. Essentially Vikir having fun with creating laws, killing and setting up the family. In addition to the bros, there is now the sis. I liked Chihuahua. The pit bulls seem the most dangerous so far. Doesn't look good for Vikir.

Ruthlessly violent, but also entertaining. The names of the cohorts are always a good chuckle.

If fans of Solo Leveling are looking for another series to sink their teeth into, this would be a perfect contender. This series has lots of action and an overpowered main character traveling, but it has many dark moments (which should be expected from something with "revenge" in the title). Now that he's a little older, Vikir is proving his ruthlessness with his posting as the Deputy Magistrate, but he still holds out a soft spot for the innocent and less fortunate, especially the citizens of Underdog. There is a lot of violence carried out on page in this series, and many moments of cruelty strongly hinted at with a few blurry moments of the most brutal of Vikir's punishments. S.arang keeps the color palette mostly in the deep reds, purples, and shadows regardless of location or time of day, adding to the overall darkness of the tone.
