No murderer is going to unravel Madison Ryder's new life.
Following the deaths of her husband and unborn son, Madison spent two years knitting her life back together by returning home and opening a yarn store. Now the stalker who murdered her family means to finish the job. After someone sabotages her car and torches her store, Madison joins forces with Nick Santana, her husband's former partner, to capture the killer. She refuses to let the stalker unravel her life a second time--not without a fight.
Ex-cop Nick Santana searched two years for his partner's killer and, after a failed attempt on his life, the hunt leads him to Madison's doorstep. Nick's determined to capture the killer--if he can stay out of jail. Following his arrival in town, he's framed for murder. With evidence mounting and the law closing in, Nick must prove his innocence and win Madison's heart. Nick and Madison pursue the killer, but uncovering his identity could be fatal.
Although I liked book #1 and had hope for this one, I just wasn't enjoying it. There was a lot of filler about food, sometimes it all was too saccharine and for me the plot wasn't interesting. I was bored and uninterested through most of the book. And one of the characters was just too obvious for the cops too be clueless about.
Madison lost her husband, Luke, and unborn son when a driver ran them off the road. It's been two years and she's still trying to put pieces back together. She's back home in Otter Creek and owns a yarn store. She is determined to live her life. But when her stalker resurfaces and threatens to finish what they started, she decides to stand her ground. They will not take her life away again.. not without a fight.
Nick left the force after his partner was killed. He became a PI so he could track down Luke's killer. He has kept a close eye on Madison over the last couple of years and in the process has fallen in love with her. When a trail leads him to Otter Creek and to Madison's doorstep, he will do whatever it takes to keep her safe. She's already been through so much and he refuses to let any more hurt and heartache land in her life.
As they work together to figure out who has it in for her, Madison realizes that she's slowly been falling in love with Nick too. But when tragedy strikes, she wonders if she will ever get the chance to tell him how she feels. One thing is for sure, he's been doing everything he can to keep her safe, and now it's her turn to return the favor. Neither one of them will go down without a fight. They are determined to get their HEA.
I have been enjoying this series so far. It's fast paced in action and suspense. It has romance but it's not the main focus, which has been nice. Don't get me wrong, the heroes are definitely alpha males that take care of the women they love and will stop at nothing to make sure they are safe. There have been some swoony kisses, but the books focus more on suspense and finding out "who dunnit". With so many characters overlapping in the books, I'm intrigued and will definitely keep reading this series.
Ms. Deel is a new to me author and I'm glad I stumbled upon her books. I'm always happy to add more clean read authors to my list. I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for more by her!
Content: Mild violence. No language. Clean romance.. just kisses.
I am falling more in love with this author with every book I read! Her talent for producing a quality romantic suspense novel is incredible.
I really liked our two protagonists in this book, Nick and Madison. There is a lot they have to overcome, both romantically and with a crazed stalker and attempted murder, but they keep at it. The mystery and suspense kept me riveted til the very end. I loved seeing other characters from the first book in the series- it adds more depth to the overall story.
Can't wait to get my hands on the next one! I'm so glad to have run a cross this author, and am happy there are a lot more books like this available for me to read!
We met Maddie in Witness, one of the Cahill triplets. Maddie lost her husband & unborn son in the car accident that almost killed her. Now, 2yrs later, Maddie is finally starting to move on with her life when her husband’s former partner, Nick Santana, shows up. A dangerous man from the past is out of prison and is possibly stalking Maddie. Can Nick and police chief, Ethan Blackhawk, find the stalker before it’s too late? Or, is Nick the stalker, since the evidence is piling up against him? While the story was engaging, I didn’t feel the chemistry between Maddie and Nick. It was still a good story and worth the read. We catch up with the rest of the Cahill clan as well. I was given this free review copy at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
Book two of the Otter Creek series focusses on Madison Ryder. Still recovering from the car wreck that killed her husband and son the last thing she needs is the return of her stalker. The only good thing about the situation is the return of Nick Santana her late husbands partner. After surviving being shot Nick is determined to keep Madison save and he has the support of the family Cahill as well as Ethan. And he will need all the help he can get when he is framed for murder and it becomes apparent that he may be the primary target not Madison after all. I really enjoyed this murder mystery full of all our Otter Creek favourites with the welcome addition of one hot ex cop. Welcome to the family Nick!
Amazing a different perspective can make - tragedy after tragedy but there is a happy ever after.
Nick retired cop moved to private investigation to solve his partner Luke murder has several of his own secrets. Luke's widow Madison has captured his heart but she doesn't know it and she still wearing her husbands rings so no room to move forward. Mean while staying alive will be the challenge . action intrigue and mystery this is more your cup of tea. Violence 2 Sex o clean hero romance.

I had requested and received audiobook version of this book for free from the narrator, in exchange for an unbiased review.
This was an entertainer, from beginning to end. This is the kind of book that you want to read when you just want to seat back and enjoy a easy-n-fast flowing story. You won't have to scratch your head trying to figure out stuff. The story starts at a comfortable pace and keeps you intrigued till the end.
The narration by Kristina Fuller Yuen was a good match for the content. Both male and female characters were voiced convincingly.
Nick and Madison have known each other for years. Nick is her deceased husband's partner and tragedy has always shadowed their relationship. An unknown enemy is after both of them just as they realize their go beyond friendship. Will they unmask a killer who's closer than they know before it's too late?
...with great characters who you are constantly rooting for. The drama mixed with romance is touching, heartwarming and sometimes heart breaking. On to book 3.
I have now read this book and all Rebecca Deel's other books about right times each. I haven't met a hero or heroine that I don't like - although I have my favourites especially the triplets, their brother and all their spouses.
I really like the way this series his starting out. Love the Cahill family. Just enough suspense to make the love story good. Madison and Nick's story was a good one.
I’ve read a lot of books by Rebecca. This had the worst ending. Very abrupt almost and didn’t explain much. I was a little surprised. Good story line though. This is a great series
As usual, this book was action packed. It’s always a crazy ride from beginning to the end. I love how the story keeps your attention through to the very last page.
An exciting and suspense filled romantic suspense. The narration was very good and it was very easy to get absorbed in the story. The identity of the stalker had me completely mystified and I really enjoyed the process of following the characters as they tried to solve the crime. The romance was sweet and I enjoyed their story. I thought that their story was realistic and handled very sensitively. I really liked it.
Another excellent book from Ms. Deel. She shows romance through dialogue not graphic action. The plot here was subdued but inventive. The characters were familiar and good to read about again. One of the positives of this series is familiar characters from previous books appearing again, even if only briefly.
I just loved Madison's story! As we learned in book 1, Madison had previously lost her husband and unborn baby in a car accident. She returned home to Otter Creek and found solace in knitting and her newly opened yarn store. She is finally starting to get her life back on track when she receives an eerie delivery of dead roses.
When Nick, her husband's partner on the police force, comes to town with news that her former stalker (who may also be her husband's killer) may be after her, she knows she can't let her life crumble twice. She and Nick grow closer, but it quickly becomes apparent that the stalker is trying to frame Nick for murder.
This book had the perfect balance on romance, suspense, and mystery! I just adored Madison and Nick. They each had history that they had to overcome, and it was great to watch their growth throughout the story. Excellent writing, great character development, and an engaging plot! This book begins to set up Josh's future relationship, but it looks like Meg's book is next! I can't wait to see what is in store for the third triplet! I hope this series continues beyond the 4 books--I'd love to see what happens with the other members of Otter Creek!
I really like the Cahill family and enjoyed revisiting them. While this book could be read as a standalone, I recommend reading book one first for background. This story focuses on the second Cahill triplet, Madison. She has overcome great tragedy and really made her life into something she loves. Nick was her late husband's best friend and partner. Her has been in love with Madison for years. When he uncovers evidence that Madison is in danger, he can do nothing but drop everything and rush to warn her. Nick and her family close ranks around Madison, but a stalker's gifts keep getting through. The situation soon becomes clouded, and it is up to Nick to figure out if Madison is the target or whether the stalker is actually after him and using Madison as a pawn. With plenty of suspense and great chemistry, this story keeps things clean without making them boring.
It is hard to find a good mystery that doesn't have graphic sex scenes in it I'm a Christian and I like to read stories that have substance in it not one sex scene after another I'm am a grown woman I don't want to read about others sexual exploit and I truly believe that these authors have a book that have all these unrealistic scenes in it and they just pick something to put into the pages of their story. because it's the same old stuff over and over again do some real writing you lazy authors
In this sequel we get to know one more of the Cahill triplets. Explanations are given regarding Madison's sad history, but with warmth and humor another chance at happiness comes along, although, in Ms Deel's style there is danger lurking just around the corner. Another wonderful adventure, again in Ms Deel's style the book is a great read for an adult, yet clean enough for a young Sunday school child to read. I love her style and so will you!
I was so happy to find more otter creek books in the series! This one is Madison's story and it had all the twists and turns you want in a romantic suspense book. Loved it!
Same as first book. Very nice safe cop book. No nasty parts, risque behaviour - all good clean living families. This book is written about the 2nd triplet Madison. Nice chemistry between main characters from both books. An easy read
After reading the first book in the series I could hardly wait till the next one. Came out. Great books. If you love a good clean mystery read this series. Can't wait to start the next one.
I loved this book. The characters and their interactions were so enjoyable and the suspense was great. And I love to explore more depths of thee various characters as the series progresses. I love that Madison and Nick were able to get together.
A sorrowful past leads to a happy future in this wonderful tale of murder, revenge and second chances as happiness. Otter Creek is the place to go for fun adventures.
