The arctic heats up when a photographer who rarely holds anything back is forced to share a private wing with a grumpy lodge owner who holds everything in.

Photographer Aadyasha Williams has trekked all the way to northern Canada to nab a career-making shot of a polar bear . . . and to put 1,500 miles between her and a messy breakup. Despite expecting freezing temperatures, nothing’s colder than the welcome she gets from Reid Doerksen, the gruff owner of the Northern Wilderness Polar Bear Lodge. Even worse, the lodge is overbooked, so now she has to share the private family wing with him for the next two weeks.

At least Aadya has plenty to keep her occupied when she’s not out searching for the perfect photo op. But when a storm strands Aadya and Reid together at the lodge, it’s impossible to avoid the heat simmering between them. As the snow comes down, so do Reid’s walls, and Aadya begins to realize the most important shot of her life may not be one she takes with her camera.

Too Cold for Comfort by Nisha J. Tuli

Book Blurb: A sunshine photographer and a grumpy lodge owner find themselves in close proximity when they're snowed in together in this romcom

Rating: *****
Feels: Comfy, Cozy, Cute, Confident
Style: Romance, Contemporary, Contemporary Romance
First published November 10, 2026: 352 pages

Themes & Setting: Being dropped off in the middle of a snow drenched winter wonderland with a sexy lodge owner ... Yes please !! The lodge is full of some really amusing characters as well as some sweet couples that I really adored getting to know. Aadya starts off the story with some life transitions and it was heart warming to see her explore what she wanted out of life in this setting. Conservation themes are touched on which was appreciated and it was done in such a way that it blended very well with the story.
FMC: Aadya works for the National Geographic and nature photography/ traveling has always been her goal and life long dream. Her family had other ideas for her as did her fiance .. who she breaks up with to seek her own dreams as we start this story.
MMC: Reid also has goals, to see his family lodge be successful and protect his people as well as the land around the lodge *sighs sooo cute* Apparently this makes him grumpy (hehe). I do love a grumpy x sunshine dynamic and this one is soooooo good !!!
Conclusion: I loved throwing all these elements together and the story just shines !!! Aadya is just wanting to be happy, Reid just wants things to go well, and put them together and maybe, just maybe they can both have everything they ever wanted out of life? I had the best time reading this and this is the kind of comfort read I could easily reread. This author does banter sooo well and I always love to see the playful way she has people interact because I know I will be in for a good time and will be kicking my feet giggling. Highly recommend this read !!

Favorite Quote (this is not the final copy - early arc): "How it's occured to me only in the last few days that I've always had to keep moving because until I met you, nothing was important enough to hold me in place."

This book has:
Grumpy Lodge Owner
Sunshine Nature Photographer
Slow Burn
Forced Proximity
Isolated Nature Setting
Fun side characters
Queer friendly

HUGE thank you to the team at Forever/Grand Central Publishing for this gifted copy !!!

What a fun book!

After enjoying the author’s Artefacts of Ouranos series and the contemporary romance Not Safe For Work, I was very excited to be allowed to read this wintery romance. Perfect to cool down with (and some occasional heating up) during very warm summer days in May!

The book was very well written and easy to read, had engaging storylines, a fun cast of secondary characters, and even the third act breakup was believable and worked well.
Aadya and Reid also worked well together and I felt their romance was real, sexy, and cute.

Reid carrying Aadya around the whole time, calling her “good girl” (EEEEEEK), properly listening to her (to be loved is to be heard), sharing insecurities, giving her space, but also taking the reins when necessary… did I just find a new top tier literary lover?!

Shoutout to the mention of my fav brand Kate Spade (even though it was connected to the ex’s family…!), minus points for using the incorrect term “King Louis-style” (that should for instance be “Louis XVI style”), and gosh dang it now I am craving Nanaimo bars!!!!

Just glad the camera did not get any water damage (IYKYK).

Thank you to Nisha and to Dana at Forever for the invite to read this ARC so early!!

I received an ARC of this book and these are my own opinions.

Once I knew Nisha's newest book was set in northern Canada with the polar bears.. I knew I needed to check it out!

Aayda Williams is a photographer who travels to a remote wilderness polar bear lodge to get the perfect shot and escape a messy break up. Because the lodge is overbooked, she is forced to share the family wing with the grumpy lodge owner Reid. A massive snow storm strands the guests at the lodge and allows for their walls to breakdown and spark some chemistry.

I really loved the setting!! We don't get a lot of books set in Canada so I felt like this was such a nice change! It also felt very accurate as the author is from the area so I appreciated all the effort she put into the research.

I actually loved the side characters! Her relationships she grew within the lodge and with her family felt very fleshed out and real.

I did enjoy the romance once I got over the beginning. I didn't love the inner dialogue of what she thought of him at first. I dunno why!! Their relationship eventually grew on me tho but I did have a hard time getting on board at first.

I do think I am just more of a closed door romance reader, but overall did enjoy the spicy scenes.

Will definitely keep reading her books!!

Another easy, fun, and SPICY read from Nisha J Tuli. I really loved NSFW so I was desperate to read her next romance book.

I loved the cold setting literally I hate the cold but made me want to travel to see polar bears haha. I also looooved our grumpy hot man in Reid and the sunshine of Aadya. This part,” I think I’m wearing him down. I’m sandpaper in his underwear. I almost feel sorry for him. No one can resist my charm,” had me laughing out loud and felt like something I would say to anyone who didn’t like me either. Their banter was perfection, and I had so much fun watching the tension build between them.

My only real drawback was how quickly Reid’s feelings seemed to shift. He went from being full-on grumpy to suddenly making flirty, sexual innuendos almost overnight. I would have loved a little more emotional development between them and a few extra moments of connection before that transition.

Thank you to Nisha J. Tuli, Forever, and NetGalley for the eARC!

I was a lucky duckling that got to hear Nisha drop some teasers at Ever After last year and I knew immediately this book was going to hit. Yes, there's a race to write Canadian romances but the locale has always leaned beach forward. This was refreshingly needed. Too Cold For Comfort embraces trust, saying that it's ok to slow down for yourself and loved one while you chase your ambitions. And yes, even polar bears.

it's unapologetically, a Nisha J. Tuli classic. Thank you Forever for the early digital copy!

“you...were just you. Real and brave, and brighter than the stars.”

🐻‍❄️ RomCom
❄️ Travel Photography x Lodge Owner
🐻‍❄️ Grumpy x Sunshine
❄️ Snowed In
🐻‍❄️ Forced Proximity
❄️ Polar Bears!!!

“Mother Nature is the boss out here, and she doesn’t move to anyone’s clock.”

Oh this book was exactly what I was looking for! It is currently July and we are in the middle of a record breaking heatwave, my hope when starting Too Cold For Comfort was that I’d be completely transported to North Canada, surrounded by the dancing northern lights, Hector the truly majestic polar bear and be completely swept away by the romance. And oh boy did this book deliver, I couldn’t have asked for better escape honestly and I know this is one I will be rereading in the winter.

“He’s taller than I realized, and his voice is low and rumbling, and of course, he sounds like the male POV in a dark romance audiobook. Of course.”

Too Cold For Comfort has a bit of everything you want in a contemporary romance, an incredible setting with its cosy lodge in the middle of polar bear central. The forced proximity of not enough rooms at the lodge, plus getting snowed in? It’s a recipe for a good time. The characters are so very relatable, they all have such depth and detail to them. I swear I love the way Nisha always makes me fall in love with the side characters too, they have their own stories and lives and the best humour.

“He does that a lot. Waits for me. Lets me think about my words before rushing to fill my silence.”

Then there’s the romance. Oh it was good, so so so good. Aadya and Reid had such chemistry right from the beginning. Between the slowly thawing grumpy exterior, the more you learn about Reid the more you ,and Aadya, can’t help but fall head over heels for him. The care they give to each other is beautiful. They bring out the best in each other and I LOVED it. From the banter to the steamy tension I could not get enough of these two, I loved every moment.

“It occurs to me that I’ve never been in the presence of someone like Reid. Someone who doesn’t need to constantly speak. Who’s so comfortable with who he is that he isn’t compelled to constantly prove his worth.”

As someone whose favorite thing is seeing the unfiltered beauty of nature and exploring this world with their best friend, this book is the story of my heart. The way that Nisha manages to infuse her romances with so much humor and simultaneously tackles heavier topics, makes me love her writing even more. The settings are always richly crafted: Too Cold for Comfort is filled with so many details that make you want to immediately pack your bags and arrive by bush plane to stay at the Northern Wildness Polar Bear Lodge (especially if it included a certain grumpy lodge owner). Some of my favorite parts of this book are the polar bears, the little bits about Churchill during different seasons, and the way that Aadya views the world through her camera lens.

The romance is tender and blooming, allowing for Aadya and Reid to connect and gain each other’s trust before anything else. Ultimately building something worth keeping past the last day of Aadya’s stay at the lodge. I feel like Nisha handled Aadya’s wanderlust in a way that balanced her need for connection. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to slow down, it’s that she hadn’t found someone worth slowing down for. Discovering that sometimes adventures are all the better for the people we get to experience them with.

The easiest five star book that I’ve read in a while, and I cannot wait to have this on my shelves next to NSFW on November 10, 2026.

Thank you Forever for gifting me with an eARC (via Netgalley widget), all thoughts expressed are my own.

Thank you to Netgalley and Forever for the eARC of Too Cold for Comfort.

As someone who is reading this book in the middle of the Canadian summer, I can say that this book is the perfect winter read. If you haven’t already, you should add this book to your winter TBR. Nisha J. Tuli does a wonderful job at showcasing the beauty of both the land and the people here in Canada. The romance authors here have done a great job bringing our wonderful summers to the genre, but our winters are just as, if not more, beautiful.

In this book you follow Aadya who is going through a big life change after ending her engagement and has a once in a lifetime gig to photograph Northern Wilderness Polar Bear Lodge. She needs this job to work out in order to break out of freelance work and into a stable position at National Geographic. If you love a career driven fmc that doesn’t want to set down roots in the traditional manner, then this book may be right up your alley.

The love interest, Reid, is the grumpy owner of the lodge and is not too happy that the lodge needs Aadya and National Geographic’s exposure to bring more tourists. He cares so much about the people he employs and bares the weight of making sure the lodge doesn’t fail. Having that pressure combined with bad publicity in the past, Reid has his walls up from the start with Aadya.

Forced to live in close quarters and with limited access to the outside world, Aadya and Reid gain new perspectives on what they want from life and each other.

Me thinks Too Cold for Comfort is actually a perfect contemporary romance??? Y’all I laughed out loud multiple times. These characters felt so real, so likable, so relatable. I want more!!! This book could’ve been twice as long and still kept me enthralled the whole time.

The FMC, Aadya, is just SO funny. She says and thinks things that everyone wishes they could get away with and somehow still never comes off like a witch. The MMC Reid is obviously perfect, but not obnoxiously so. The banter is top notch and the fact that they don’t take each other too seriously just makes the romance so fun and authentic feeling.

Nisha’s writing is, as always, impeccable. I was provided this ARC by Forever (THANK YOU!) and even as an advanced copy, there were hardly any typos and the storyline flowed so perfectly.

I’ll also add that reading this in June was lovely but reading it in November when it releases will be top notch. It is so cozy and descriptive and ambient and I’ll be damned if I don’t want to go on a polar bear excursion in an arctic tundra now!

Normally, I'm all about grumpy and sunshine dynamic, romance and cozy environments. So I was especially excited to read this book, cuz it was promising a lot of those elements!

Also, a) the stunning cover. b) the blurb absolutely got me.

And honestly? I did try. But I'm not feeling anything about this story and the narrative is so repetitive it feels kinda cyclical, like I'm reading the same scenes and dialogues every single chapter.

The romance is awfully insta-love, which I don't especially enjoy without some context, and I couldn't stand the fmc. I mean, she's cute, sure. But she couldn't see this guy Reid without immediately thinking about HOW HOT HE IS.

ALL.
THE.
TIME.

I was even counting them, because, at some point it became so annoying. Like, I understand, girl. I really do. There's no need to be describing him every couple of seconds like it's the only thing you can think about when YOU JUST MET HIM and treated you like a jerk. I got it. And also I don't.

I didn't like Reid. He kinda acts like a boy when he's not. And I just can't.

I just think it's not the story for me. Maybe it was the time, but it'll be for the best if I dnf now.

Thank you to the publisher and the author for the opportunity.

If Nisha J Tuli is on the cover, I’m gonna pick it up. I really enjoy her writing style. It’s pretty, descriptive, easy to follow, and just works so well for me. One thing that stood out to me that I really liked was the nickname “gossip girl.” I feel like we see so many recycled pet names they’ve kinda lost their luster. Gossip girl I actually found very endearing, as simple as it is and it’s mocking nature initially.

You would think less than 2 weeks knowing each other in a cabin would feel insanely insta-lovey, but somehow their chemistry just felt so natural to me. I loved their banter and sarcasm and warm tender moments. Loved this book.

Thank you so much Forever Grand Central Publishing and NetGalley for this arc in exchange for an honest review!!

Opposites attract in this snowy secluded work trip between a Nat Geo photographer and a grumpy quiet lodge owner. I love the way Nisha blends spice with equal amounts of emotion.

Take me to Churchill Manitoba asap. Truly this had me searching for TT videos so I could learn even more about the setting Nisha placed this book in.

It gave me The Simple Wild by KA Tucker vibes. It’ll be a comfort read I return to again and again.

Thank you to NetGalley, Forever (Grand Central Publishing) and Nisha J. Tuli for the ARC of Too Cold for Comfort.

I've just recently gotten into reading some of Tuli's work in her romantasy series and was excited to branch out into more romance! I especially love when I can read works from Canadian authors!

This was a perfect wintery romance! I can see myself curling up during the cold months to read this steamy romance! From the first page I was hooked on the story and couldn't wait to see Aadya's story arc. Tuli had me wanting to pack my bags for my own stay at Northern Wildness Polar Bear Lodge (especially if it comes with a Reid)!

The fact that Reid and Aayda's romance slowly blooms throughout the novel was perfect, with them working to gain each other's trust. I absolutely ate up their interactions and the bathroom scene!!!

This is a book that people should add to their winter TBR!

Exceeded my unrealistically high expectations. Nisha has a true talent for writing layered characters, setting a genuinely realistic scene the reader can easily imagine-I mean I could imagine even the scent of the outdoors in this, and her side cast and background characters are so well written that you can immediately relate them to a casual acquaintance or stranger you’ve encountered in real life (omg that Karen on the plane first thing). Her spicy scenes are elite, they’re on par with how RuNyx writes sex and that’s extremely high praise. If you even dabble in contemporary romance on occasion, grab this.

Tropes: Cozy Contemporary Romance, Enemies to Lovers, Forced Proximity, Just This Once, Insta Lust (in a good way)

Oh. My. Gosh. I am so obsessed with this book. I love Nisha J. Tuli, so I knew I would like it, but it actually blew me away. First, the cover??? I mean, come on. How are they so sexy? Reading this book in the middle of summer really made me want it to be fall/winter so I can be cozy in a winter cabin and look at polar bears. So this will definitely be a reread come winter.

I loved both our MCs. Aadya is our FMC. She’s a badass photographer for Nat Geo and is on assignment to capture the photo of the decade. Her career basically hangs in the balance here. She is also trying to get away from her ex, who doesn’t understand what “No” means or “We’re broken up.” He was lowkey so annoying. I wanted him GONE. I loved how Aadya is a genuine person and kind, sees the best in others, but also will definitely call you out for shit if you are being rude. You go, girl. She was a bit too obviously thirsty for our guy Reid. Like, full on staring and drooling. Like, girl, hold it together in public and pull yourself together! This shit just doesn’t happen in real life, and it was kind of blown out of proportion here.

Reid is our MMC and is gruff, grumpy, and basically hates Aadya on sight since he had a bad run-in with the media a few years ago and doesn’t trust her at all. Aadya is determined to become friends with him. And slowly, his icy exterior melts away because how can it literally not with this girl? Once we got to know Reid a bit more, we saw how kind and soft he actually is.

I also loved how Tuli writes so descriptively about the scenery, the lodge, the decorations, the food, and the other workers. It really makes you feel like you are right there with them. I definitely googled where this place is and absolutely put it on my bucket list to go kayak with beluga whales. Don't judge me.

Ok, the spice in this book was top notch. Tuli never disappoints us there. I love how Reid becomes literally the sweetest thing in the world and so obsessed with her. I really wish we could have had his POV in this book. And the ending, when he does his grand gesture, had me smiling and giggling like a little girl. I loved it. These two just work so well together and end up having the literal dream life. The epilogue was so sweet.

Overall, this book blew me away. It is filled to the brim with cozy winter vibes, spice, and a genuinely lovable relationship.

Big thank you to NetGalley & Forever publishing for providing an ARC in exchange for my honest review!

Y’all I’m a sucker for a Nisha J Tuli book. Every single she puts out draws you in and keeps you captivated till the very last page. Too Cold for Comfort was no exception. I had a really fun time reading this quick winter love story. Now I will admit it wasn’t perfect, nor was it my favorite of Nisha’s books. But I would still recommend it to anyone looking for a light fluffy read come this November.

Now let’s talk my PROs:
- Our FMC Aadya. I absolutely adored her. She is a strong independent girl boss and I had so much respect for her. She’s unapologetically who she is and has no problem putting a “Karen” in their place. Which as a former front desk employee I appreciate her so much.
- the setting, everything from the outings, the animals and the lodge itself was so vividly brought to life. And the whole time I kept wishing I too could be at this lodge seeing polar bears and the northern lights.
- the side characters, even though this small group of characters didn’t know each other. I loved the dynamic they brought to the story. I also loved the influence they had with our main characters you could truly see that even a stranger can change your life.

Now let’s talk about my CONs:
- the romance. Now don’t get me wrong I like Aadya and Reid together. However, their whole relationship felt way too insta-lovey for me. Also I know this is a work of fiction but out of all the romances I’ve read recently this one falls under the “would never freaking happen category”. Our FMC & MMC had an extended physical relationship for two weeks. Then dated/but not really dated for 7 weeks digitally. The relationship was so life changing that they both decided to make drastic changes to their lives. It just felt extremely unrealistic. I wish their story could’ve been more fleshed out. Like I’ll be honest I thought Robin & Erica’s story was more fleshed out than our main characters.
- my last big issue was Reid himself, I feel like his character was put in the back burner a bit. We didn’t get to learn a ton about him. And the things we didn’t learn felt very surface level. Overall, I just wanted more depth for our MMC.

Like I mentioned this book was fun, it wasn’t perfect but for anyone looking for a quick light romance this will 100% scratch that itch.

Thank you to Nisha J Tuli, Forever and NetGalley for the eARC.

I devoured this book in a day! It is funny and sweet and sexy with just enough tears-inducing moments.
Although it might not make a lot of sense considering the snowy theme, this feels like a perfect beach read.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐//🌶️.5

Fresh out of a breakup with her fiancé, Aadya Williams is sent on an assignment in the cold, cold Canadian North to hopefully get the perfect picture of polar bears for an article in the National Geographic Magazine. At the Northern Wilderness Polar Bear Lodge where she is staying for two weeks, she meets Reid Doerksen, the grumpy owner, who is not all that welcoming of her.
Right from the start, we are introduced to our FMC and her struggles: dealing with the aftermath of her separation from her fiancé (and subsequent wedding cancellation), said ex-fiancé who won’t accept their separation, a disappointed mother who doesn’t understand why she doesn’t want to go back with him or her the job she does, and money struggle. In just a few pages, the author gives us a very good window into Aadya’s life and the relationships she has with others. I was rooting for her all along to get what she wanted.
Reid Doerksen, our MMC, doesn’t trust her to write a good article about his lodge. Although he feels a bit less fleshed out than Aadya (maybe because we don’t get his POV), he still had his share of family expectations and responsibilities that weighed heavily on him.
The way their relationship evolved felt very natural. The progression from him disliking her and opening to her flowed well. He was truly sweet and considerate, but also that mouth😏. I particularly liked what I’d called the bratty banter between them. And that whole drunk scene: Glorious!
All the side characters were memorable and entertaining. I was invested in the story of Erica and Robin.

This book had me giggling and kicking my feet a lot of times but also had me shed a few tears towards the end. I liked how it touched subjects like parental expectations, but also the distance between family members, romantic relationship with forced gender roles expectations, also people faced with some racism and homophobia. And Christopher is a dick.

As a fellow Canadian, I have now added Churchill, Manitoba to my list of places I want to visit in my country.

10/10 would recommend.

Thank you to NetGalley and to Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for the ARC of Too Cold for Comfort by Nisha J. Tuli.

This is such a cute read! I feel like I've been in a bit of a book rut for the past 6 weeks, and this is the book that broke me out of it. I was sitting in a chair and only realized when I hit 50% that I still had to make dinner and was too completely absorbed in it to notice. Finished it in an evening and enjoyed every minute. Definitely picking up her other romance book in the next few weeks and adding her to my autoread.

I was first captured by the setting - I love a remote Canadian location (I blame Kelley Armstrong) and I love how Tuli described every aspect Churchill, Manitoba based on her own visits and her 20 years of living in Winnipeg. As someone who has traveled a fair amount myself, I thought Aadya's National Geographic career and her adventures were really interesting and her frustration with certain types of travelers or experiences on trips to be very genuine and realistic. I just enjoyed this entire aspect of the book immensely.

I also just really loved how Tuli wrote the romance. I am not generally a fan of instalove stories that take place over a super short period of time, and Tuli expertly navigates that aspect of relationship building to make it feel more realistic and more self-reflective given the hang ups both characters have. Both Aadya and Reid felt well developed on their own, and there were enough layers of the story for both internal and external conflict that drew out more development naturally and kept the story from being one-note or overly emphasizing unrealistic dramatics. The overall story has humor and heart all with this wonderful setting that gave the story a different vibe and focus than a lot of other romances out right now. Perfect for a winter read, but as someone reading the ARC in July, also refreshing for the hot months.

There were a few spots where the conversations/dialogue felt a bit stilted to move in a direction or to set-up a sex scene, and a few spots where I was a bit frustrated with Aadya being so outspoken and calling out people's rudeness to their faces but unable to do the same to her ex or with things that actually affected her whole life instead of a momentary annoyance but neither truly took me out of my enjoyment of the story.

Wow, just wow. This was exactly what I was craving and I started it on a whim and boy did it hit. You are immediately dropped in this gorgeous wintery scenery (I for one love winter) that I just need to go to right now. With every beautiful description, I was itching to have a picture to look at, or maybe just to buy a plane ticket? Kidding, but genuinely, this would be a place that I would absolutely love, so getting to immerse myself in that winter wonderland really made me a happy - though slightly jealous - camper. I also think that the book and author did a really good job at putting the emphasis on conversation as well as the safety of not only the people but also the wildlife and the want to preserve wildlife (though that might be difficult with the way things are currently going in the world) instead of kind of sensationalising the entire thing.
The characters are round and have an extensive backstory that is really well worked out and ties into the story and the way they behave and the choices they make really well. I liked both characters a lot, they were complicated and very real people with realistic hurdles and struggles in life and I just loved reading about how their story slowly developed - their story together as well as their respective stories and life goals. They fit really well together too, I mean I'm feral for a grumpy man, so Reid can hit me up any day, but Aadya especially pushed back and just had the perfect character to slowly work her ways through his walls, the same way that he nestled himself through hers. And don't even get me started on the spice, they were H O T, no notes.
I'm obsessed with how the story ended, things were done and said that had me absolutely on the floor, so you're definitely gonna need to read that, yes 100%.
Also, the side characters were amazing, I loved them so much (well aside from you'll find out who). They added a lot of character and fun to the overall story, it wouldn't have been the same without them.

If it hadn't been clear before, I loved this book A LOT, so I would definitely recommend getting your hands on it and reading it ASAP!

If Nisha J. Tuli writes it, I'm reading it. At this point, she's become one of those authors I trust without hesitation, and *Too Cold for Comfort* is exactly why.

This book was an absolute delight from beginning to end. It was laugh-out-loud funny, full of sharp banter, and had the kind of effortless chemistry between the main characters that makes you forget you're reading because you're so invested in every conversation. It reminded me why I love romance novels in the first place—they're comforting, entertaining, and when they're done well, they leave you smiling long after you've finished the last page.

The premise is fantastic. A successful romance author experiences a spectacularly public downfall after accidentally exposing the very real inspirations behind the "I hate you... but maybe I don't" relationships she's been writing about for years. In an effort to escape the chaos and rediscover herself, she heads to Alaska, where she unexpectedly meets a rugged, incredibly charming local who slowly—and convincingly—wins her over.

The romance feels natural, the emotional growth is satisfying, and the Alaskan setting adds so much warmth and personality despite the freezing temperatures. The humor throughout the book is one of its greatest strengths, balancing the emotional moments perfectly without ever feeling forced.

My only criticism? I wanted more. I wasn't ready for the story to end. I could have happily spent another hundred pages with these characters, watching their relationship continue to grow. Of course, that's often the nature of romance novels—they tend to leave you wanting just a little bit longer with the people you've come to love.

Overall, I absolutely adored this book. It's witty, heartfelt, incredibly charming, and one of those stories that reminds you why romance is such a fun genre to come back to.

If you're looking for a romance that's equal parts funny, sweet, and impossible to put down, *Too Cold for Comfort* deserves a spot at the top of your reading list. And if you're new to Nisha J. Tuli? This is a wonderful place to start.

This is 100% my bad. I thought this was a different author, then once I saw it was the author of one of my least favorite series... I lost a lot of hope. But a different genre, I said to myself!! Maybe fantasy wasn't their thing and romance will be!! 😐

The first 50% of this book was painful for me, the back half was better. I am letting go of the majority of my complaints due to the book finishing on a strong note. That said, Aadya gives extreme pick-me vibes. She is not like other girls and doesn't want to settle down ever 🙂‍↔️ Which also means she speaks her mind AKA is just as rude as the people she talks crappy about. Especially in the first half, I found her as a character to be completely insufferable.

There is some decent discussion on family dynamics and learning how to advocate for yourself in situations where the expectations of others do not align with your own goals and feelings. I slightly wish there was more about Aadya's career or influencer life, especially since the influencer aspect is there for like a paragraph just to make it so she can have shirtless pics of Reid.

Speaking of shirtless Reid, Aadya's thoughts immediately being disgustingly horny was a turn-off for this book. She pulls like a Twilight Edward and is just constantly staring at Reid which was cringey.

Two things I refuse to let go of:
• Made a fuss that it's technically the taiga not tundra, then refers to it EXCLUSIVELY as the tundra
• Calls lady a Karen almost immediately, then proceeds to give big Karen vibes herself

I could see you finding this enjoyable if you want a turn your brain off type of romance. But if you get caught on small details or find insufferable side characters (and also main character) to be a dealbreaker, then maybe avoid this.

Thanks to NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for providing an eARC of Too Cold for Comfort. This review is fully of my own honest opinion.

Thank you to Dana Cuadrado and Nisha Tuli for this advance copy. Publish date: Nov 10, 2026

I'll start with everything that I loved from this book:
✅Canada
✅All the polar bears that showed up and delivered
✅Second-half of book Reid
✅Sandeep and Andy
✅Drunk Aadya

Things I did not like:
💀First half of book Reid
💀Any and all Gossip Girl references
💀The polar bear did not eat that idiot Brent for lunch

I absolutely love every single thing that Nisha Tuli writes but I'll be honest, the first half of this book was shaky at best. This cozy rom-comy little story follows a travel photographer (Aadya) who goes all the way to cold AF Churchill Manitoba to snap pictures of the elusive polar bears. The lodge owner (Reid) is over-the-top hot obvi but also a broody mofo. Of course we learn later why Reid hates Aadya on sight, but like, as a hospitality and tourism business owner of a struggling lodge, Sir, regulate, ffs!

In fairness to Reid, we later learn that he's hella more emotionally intelligent than ever, which was a fair bit of whiplash in his character arc. I also felt like Aadya, who had no trouble calling out rude Karens (Stacy) at the dinner table, was constantly trying to win over Reid even when he was rude. But again, pretty priveledge made this a realistic character flaw I guess.

Other than this, the story flowed well. I got a lot of sick satisfaction whenever Aadya's ex-fiance called to talk about their wedding and she just shut him down like a champ. The fact that Reid sold half his business 2.5 minutes after meeting Aadya and showed up in Greece was also a stretch, but kudos to Aadya for finding that romantic, and not mildly alarming

All in all, I liked it, it was easy reading, and cute AF. Aadya was a baddie who refused to give up on her dreams and desires, and Reid was a strong devoted cinnamon roll.

Thank you to NetGalley for the eARC! All opinions given are my own.

Someone make this a movie right now. Please and thank you.

I gobbled this up in one sitting! This is the perfect addition to any winter TBR! (especially if you're looking for some reads that aren't holiday related).

This was as cozy and heart warming as it was steamy!! Reid might be the perfect fictional man. He is truly "if he wanted to, he would" personified. Aadya was such an admirable and relatable FMC. She had felt pressured into settling and following the "timeline" and roles expected of her by society and her family. She finally is putting herself first, and going after her dreams...but that doesn't mean she has it all together overnight.

spoiler free premise: She is a freelance photographer for National Geographic/travel blogger and he is the grumpy owner of the lodge hosting her. She travels all over the world, and he has been in one place his entire life, running the family business. They both feel some pressure of familial expectations. An unseasonable snow storm keeps them indoors and they cannot deny their chemistry and his walls begin to come down

Not only do these two have a ton of physical chemistry, they just truly *got* one another. Reid told her exactly what he was thinking and what he wanted, but respected her wishes. I truly appreciate the author weaving in the emotional maturity into this romance. Nothing felt overdone...just two adults with magnetic chemistry figuring out how to go after their dreams together.
