This is how it all started, Robert Bradford set the tone for all the men in his family to come and he did it the only way that he knew how, but driving Elizabeth crazy and making sure that she would never forget how much he loved her.
New York Times Bestselling author, R.L. Mathewson was born in Massachusetts. She’s known for her humor, quick wit and ability to write relatable characters. She currently has several paranormal and contemporary romance series published including the Neighbor from Hell series.
Growing up, R.L. Mathewson was a painfully shy bookworm. After high school she attended college, worked as a bellhop, fast food cook, and a museum worker until she decided to take an EMT course. Working as an EMT helped her get over her shyness as well as left her with some fond memories and some rather disturbing ones that from time to time show up in one of her books.
Today, R.L. Mathewson is the single mother of two children that keep her on her toes. She has a bit of a romance novel addiction as well as a major hot chocolate addiction and on a perfect day, she combines the two.
In 2019/2020, R.L. Mathewson will be publishing Devastated, the first Anger Management novel, Tall, Dark & Furious, the 6th installment to the Pyte/Sentinel series, Irresistible, the long anticipated novel for the Neighbor from Hell Series as well as many more books throughout the year, paranormals, contemporaries, and YAs.
So this is the 4th installment that tells how the Bradford curse of going in a honeymoon within the first year of marriage would end up in total chaos so this is how many, many , many years ago this started.
ROBERT Remember the tradition that a Bradford guy just took his bride to marry him, without giving her pretty much any option at all? Well that’s what happened and now we have a handsome ex rich boy working his ass in order to provide for his family just like this: But he couldn’t do all of this without his reason to live
ELIZABETH Now we have a fierce and independent woman that is crazy in love with ther husband and in order to do her part she goes like:
THE CURSE Robert tried to take her on honeymoon in order for both of them to get rest…let’s see how well that goes since the very beginning…
THE KIDS
Two stubborn and crazy for the antics parents…what else can we expect from their kids huh?
So at the end with everything they go through, they don’t forget:
So we have a few of hot:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2.5 actually. Not so funny as I hope, but it did the trick for me in a very tiny scale. I was expecting more, but either way I stil have Double Dare and Honeymoon from Hell V to go. Given that those are contemporary...the plot might give me more LOL times !XD
I love the Honeymoon from Hell series!! This book got me laughing so hard, that tears are coming out of my eyes!! Robert and Elizabeth are so perfect together.
“He wouldn’t survive without her.
She meant everything to him, absolutely everything. She was his heart, his soul, the reason why he pushed himself so hard to make a better life for their family. He loved and adored his boys, but Elizabeth…
I loved it, but was a little unsure about the whole curse thing that was supposed to have started in this book. It didn't really say the needed to wait to go on their honeymoon because Robert and Elizabeth waited years after they were married and they still had the honeymoon from hell.
I just finished book 4, Truce and couldn't wait to read Elizabeth and Robert's "Honeymoon from Hell". True to the title, it was something pretty much straight out of hell! Though it started out fun (even with those first 30 pages of copy-paste from Truce), soon it turned into something... something.......... I don't even have exact words for that "honeymoon". :o
Aww those two.
Remember folks, over-the-top is the keyword here. Once again, so over the top it wasn't even funny. I just felt bad. :( I adore Elizabeth and Robert but this was horrible! They just wanted to enjoy a week free of kids and all the other responsibilities.................. *sigh* All I can say is that marrying a Bradford doesn't seem appealing to me at this point. :/
PS: the author needs to appoint a better editor for her books. The repetition and very convoluted sentences are also killing the fun of reading. At least for me.
Another funny disaster of a honeymoon. For some reason this one seemed worse, not sure if it's because of the time period and things were more rough, but I do know I never want to spend that much time in the open.
I recommend you only read this book if you are a huge fan of Truce and are willing to put up with a lot of bad writing.
As an example of the quality of the writing, there were many confusing run on sentences including one that was 103 words long. In addition to that, there were jarring typos.
We are told over and over and over how Robert has a special smile that only belongs to Elizabeth and how she is his everything. I lost count of how many times this was repeated. Full disclosure, I hated Truce because I thought Robert was very mean to Elizabeth and I guess repeating the description of his devotion to her is partially to compensate for that.
They have freakish twins that are less than a year old, but are the size of three year olds, can speak in complete sentences, can manipulate adults by faking crying, and can run around the house getting into paint cans and other trouble.
Otherwise the book was pretty basic stuff and, as I said, if you liked Truce and are willing to forgive the above, you'll like it.

My Thoughts A fun addition to Neighbours from Hell series the author has. A fast packed light enjoyable read. I would've loved to have seen more be from Mary Beth and Darrin too.

Oh man, this was both sweet and hilarious! Robert loved her so much, and she just wanted to prove how much she loved him in return. Made me feel all mushy while laughing at the problems that cropped up - HUGE problems!
Too inconsistent with the original story and unbelievable (are we really meant to believe 11 month old twins can have proper coherent conversations?). It really ruins Elizabeth and Robert's story rather than adding to it.
Audiobook review: Truce’s honeymoon from hell is interesting but contains less couple antics and more seriousness. The story is still interesting and entertaining. The narrator did a good job.
What a story-LOL, I really enjoyed reading about Robert and Elizabeth and how the honeymoon curse started. I love the NFH stories and the Honeymoon from Hell stories are frosting on the cake!
Robert's and Elizabeth's story. Aww this was sweet and swooney. Felt like a period romance because of how it was written, not the accents. Didn't realize it went so far back ❤ family history.
Enjoyed this little novella so much! I read it right after I reread Truce and the mood still kickin' it! Always adore Mathewson's writing. Look forward to read more!
