Rate this book

As the Bluebell Cove Inn begins a new chapter, Ivy Harper must decide whether she’s brave enough to begin one of her own.

Ivy was the sister who stayed.

While the others chased careers and adventure, Ivy remained in Bluebell Cove, anchoring herself to the family inn and building her beloved flower shop from the ground up. No one thought she could do it, not her father, not her husband. But Ivy has always been the steady one. The dependable one. The one who holds everything and everyone together.

Now her sisters are back to revive the inn and “reconnect,” bringing old rivalries, unresolved grief, and long-buried secrets with them. As the town celebrates a fresh start, Ivy feels her carefully constructed life beginning to crack.

Her daughter is leaving for college, and for the first time in decades, Ivy is staring at an empty nest and an even emptier future. Beneath the capable façade, she’s haunted by memories of her late husband and the quiet compromises she made to keep her family afloat. She’s spent so long being strong for everyone else, she’s no longer sure who she is without them.

Then Elliot the man who once stood beside her on the night her daughter was born, and who now keeps showing up with charm, honesty, and an inconvenient ability to see straight through her. As sparks rekindle and the inn’s reopening forces the Harper sisters to confront their shared past, Ivy must ask herself a terrifying What if it’s not too late for her?

Book two is a tender, emotionally-rich story of sisterhood, redemption, and second chances.

The second book of the series focuses on Ivy, the dependable daughter. She has led an unselfish life, always trying to be there for her family and the Inn. The highlights of her life are her two children and her flower shop, but she now faces a lonely life without much purpose. She is withdrawn and unhappy. The reappearance of Elliott in her life is her chance for a future. The story underscores the hardships in her life and her chance to become a "whole" person again. Katie Winters adeptly handles Ivy's transition to a life with love. It's a wonderful book.

I just love Katie Winters’ novels. They are an easy read that relaxes my body and brings comfort to my soul. In Bluebell Sunsets it has Ivy facing her past, accepting her grown children’s decisions, and not giving up on her dream flower shop. It also has her face that she can be loved, cherished, and happy!
