Zynecia Monroe’s life was simple—work, sleep, repeat. She had no time for trouble, especially the kind that wore designer suits and carried danger like a scent. But one spilled cup of coffee changes everything when she locks eyes with Sincere Cross, a man whose name alone makes grown men fold.
He’s cold, ruthless, and deadly, and for reasons she can’t explain, he wants her.
Sincere doesn’t chase women, but something about Zynecia’s attitude—the quiet defiance, and the fire in her eyes—pulls him in until he’s breaking every rule he’s ever lived by. What starts as a game between them turns into something darker, heavier, and far more consuming than either of them expected.
Now she’s caught between the man she shouldn’t want and the empire he rules with blood on his hands. And once you’re touched by a menace like Sincere Cross, there’s no walking away unscarred.
This book has a solid foundation and a likable FMC, but the execution didn’t fully pull me in. Zynecia’s passion for cooking is mentioned often, yet we rarely see her actually doing it, which felt like a missed opportunity since it’s supposed to be such a big part of who she is. The romance also lacked some chemistry and depth for me, and Sincere’s character could’ve used more nuance, especially regarding his drinking. The story took a while to pick up, and the main conflict ended up feeling predictable and really didn’t pack too much of a punch. Overall, it wasn’t a bad read the author clearly has talent but a bit more emotional buildup and character development would have made the story more compelling.
I'm really enjoying this book. Sincere and Zynecia's relationship starts off in a unique way, which eventually leads to something serious. I think their personalities are pretty similar; they both don't put up with much disrespect. Even though everyone's in their business, they're becoming a strong couple. This book ends on a cliffhanger, and I totally didn't see that coming, so I'm super excited for the next one in the series to come out. Big props to the author for doing such a great job with this book.
Sincere can be a lot of things, but a punk ain't one of them. He goes after he wants *Love or In those streets either way he's coming hard behind his. Zynecia doesn't know how to LOVE until she finds Sincere and things are moving faster than expected, but with everything that's going on, will their relationship last 🔥🔥🔥GREAT READ🔥🔥🔥 WAITING ON PART 2🤔🤔🤔
Ms. J, why do you do my man sincere like that? He was finally trying to settle down, and you threw a monkey wrench in his life. I love how Z is trying to be a tough cookie, but she knows deep down Sincere is the man for her. I love how Sincere's mom is all for Z and his father I can't wait to see how this one turns out he may have had Ramos in his pocket. I know you're going to do your big one with part two. 💛
I love unexpected love. A love that they were fighting but can’t hide from. Loving the direction of where this story is headed. Can not wait for part 2
I wasn’t expecting a part 2! I felt like the book was just starting to get popping at the end. I do feel like Sincere dad and uncle may be questionable. I do like Zynecia for Sincere and what turned into a contract ended up being the real thing. I feel like part 2 gone reveal secrets and I’m ready for it to.
A well written story with interesting storyline. Characters that I enjoyed reading about, that are interesting, likeable, and well developed. This author is delivering a great read.
I’m not gonna lie, I love an unhinged MMC and Sincere hit all the boxes but I definitely loved the way he is with Zy. Looking forward to reading the next part…..hoping there is one.
This was really good and the cliffhanger at the end like wow I am so ready to read the second book I hope he makes it back to Z . She would be so hurt and sad .
This was good👌🏾. I liked how Keisha got straight to the point and instead of it feeling rushed it was well-written ,engaging and a page-turner. There was the perfect balance of drama and action that I was throughly enterained.
The only bad thing I can say about this book is the parts when the characters would vent about a situation forcing us to read about the situation twice. e.g Zy goes on a date with Sincere and then in the next scene she's on the phone telling her best friend about the same date all over again.
I liked Sincere's character a lot even his smart comments lol his relationship with his dad was hilarious. The disrespect was outrageous! And I liked Zy's character. I thought she'd be cute and sweet but she was out there fighting everybody and anybody lol The chemistry between them felt natural and believable 👌🏾 and the spicy scenes were 🥵🌶️. Hopefully part 2 is already out? I have to check. If not it's going to be painful waiting for the next part.
So, this story started off slowly, but Zynecia and Sincere quickly became each other’s safe space. Their relationship took off going 100 mph! I didn’t understand Sincere’s need for a fake fiancé, cause like for one, you a grown man and why is his dad trying to hook him up with someone. And why was Zynecia’s mom always popping up at her house and why she ain’t get her key back after the first time. That’s weird, and we not doing that. Mom just not popping up, hanging at my apartment and I’m not there! I wasn’t ready for the ending, don’t like the cliffhanger at all!
Zynecia boss was working my nerves. I think unc got thing for his sister-in-law. Zynecia mama doesn't know what boundaries are. She has to learn if she's making a mistake or not. Just the nursing. Sincere knew once he became the head of the cartel everybody was coming for him even his boys. Now I kind of figured his father wanted him to fail, so he could say I told you so. I love Ava and Sincere mama. They quit fronting, they know the sex between them
Oouuu this is juicy…it’s a three-part series that leaves on a cliffhanger.
Following Sincere (MMC) and Zynecia (FMC)…Zy is a baker working at a coffee shop and spills coffee on the infamous Sincere. He decides the way she can make it up to him is by fake dating so his Dad can lay off him. Obviously lines blur and they catch some feelings.
It’s good to me! I definitely didn’t realize I have read so quickly…definitely a page turner.
I have my suspicions and theories but I can’t wait to see how this plays out.
I love there quiet love story.. Sincere just needed a fake girlfriend and found a real beauty.. She didn’t realize she could fall for Sincere until it was too late.. He makes her think and challenges her in a way didn’t realize she wanted and needed. He like how she has a slick mouth but is too beautiful , raw to let anyone walk all over her.. She wants to independent and cherished at the same time is that asking for too much..
It started out as an arrangement: Zynecia Moore was to be the fake girlfriend of Sincere Cross. They tried not to "Cross" the line, (🤣) but the chemistry between the two of them was just too hot. Now the contract is null and void, but outsiders want to butt in and ruin what they have.
It was juicy but too short and I felt like it skipped over some much needed character development and then we got smacked with a to be continued and my heart dropped lol 😂 looking forward to part two soon
Great read this far! Zynecia & Sincere are really good for one another! I don't trust Sincere's father and Zynecia, mama has issues for sure! I can only see Sincere and Zynecia relationship getting stronger!
This was my first book by this author. The storyline was good and it was written very well. Sincere was popping his ish from the start! Zy knew she was doomed to fall in love lol. The to be continued got me tho. I need answers!
This is good so far. I like how there was never any time when Sincere did not want Zy. Even with the contract he made it clear. Definitely can get with the way Zy beat women up lol!!! Now this is ending is something else and will bring out more drama.
