Cleo is an architect who has her life down to a science. A steady career, a close-knit family, and definitely no time for romantic distractions… though not for lack of encouragement from her parents. After a breakup that upended her future, Cleo is focused on moving forward one blueprint at a time.
Ivy has her own dreams. She’s growing the coffee shop business she started with her best friend, Lucas, while keeping her heart safely out of reach.
When their worlds collide—quite literally—at Cuppa Comfort, it feels less like an accident and more like destiny.
Ivy can’t look away from the confident woman with fiery hair and sea glass green eyes, and Cleo can’t seem to stop herself from finding excuses to see the quick-witted barista. Whatever’s brewing between them, it’s instant and far stronger than the house blend.
Their connection is undeniable but careful, full of slow-burn glances, caffeinated musings, and the fragile hope that being truly seen, jagged edges and all, might finally feel safe.
When love asks for a leap of faith, both women have to decide if it’s worth the fall.
Trust Fall is the first book in The Stargazer Collection, a sapphic romance about finding your way back to love and trusting what’s written in the stars.
Trust Fall is Cobin’s debut, opening with the lives of Cleo, a devoted architect with a steady, golden-hearted warmth, and Ivy, the sweetest, bubbliest coffee shop manager. Their first “meeting” happens when Ivy accidentally bumps into Cleo at the coffee shop, and from that tiny moment...everything begins to sparkle, not realizing that one heart had quietly recognized the other long before this collision.
Going into this book felt like jumping into the unknown because the blurb doesn’t reveal much, so I truly started with zero expectations. But I’m glad I took that leap because I ended up really liking what I found. Cleo and Ivy feel so intentionally written. You can sense the care put into shaping who they are, not only around each other but in the way they treat everyone in their lives. Their chemistry is instant, and I loved that nothing felt rushed. This is a slow burn in the best possible way, the kind that brings back that fluttery, teenage-crush feeling. With every date and every small moment of trust that grew between them, that warm, giddy sensation only got stronger. Their tenderness with one another was genuinely lovely to read. And although I’m usually not a big fan of third-act breakups, here it truly worked. It showed the strength of their connection and made their reunion feel earned. Even before that, they had already opened up about their pasts and learned to confide in one another, and you can genuinely sense how much they both want to make this relationship work.
The side characters were another highlight. They acted like the cutest “romance coaches,” and their involvement added such a fun and charming vibe to the story. Cleo’s family also deserves a shoutout because their warmth toward Ivy felt incredibly heartfelt. Watching them welcome her so naturally was one of the most beautiful parts of the book, especially knowing Ivy’s complicated family history.
If I had to mention something, the pacing during the first half felt quite slow, which made it harder to stay hooked at the beginning. Since the FMCs meet later than expected, the story takes a bit to settle in, but once they finally cross paths, the pace picks up and becomes much more engaging. There were also moments where the writing felt a bit simple, and I wished for more emotional depth. But since this is a debut, I can already see a promising foundation and plenty of room for growth.
Overall, Trust Fall is a cozy, gentle romance that’s perfect for anyone looking for something sweet and heartwarming to curl up with. I truly think it’s worth giving a try.
Thank you to Elle for the chance to read an eARC of her book in exchange for an honest review!
This was a sweet and spice free novel. It took also some time for to get in the book, because the the characters took some time to meet and I had trouble feeling with the characters. But then I totally rooted for them. Ivy and Cleo are both easy to like, and were both hurt in the past. I liked seeing them getting close and start dating ; they communicate a lot and are honest with each other. The secondary characters are pretty much all nice and are all really supportive of the relationship. It’s full of really sweet scenes, maybe even too sweet for someone cynical like me. The plot twist was welcomed, but the result frustrated me a lot : I found Ivy overreacted and was totally unfair to Cleo, but everyone acted like Cleo did something wrong and it made me so mad for her. What she did to win Ivy back was a huge risk for her and it was not acknowledged enough for me. I wished to see a confrontation with Mel, but I realized after finishing the book, I will in book 3. Overall it’s a promicing debut, and I enjoyed it. I am curious of what Cobin will do with their other pen name. If you love extra sweet, knock yourself out
I enjoyed this book so much! It had everything I look for when reading: a lot of yearning from afar, an awkward meet cute, some angst, healing from past romantic disappointments and choosing to trust again.
I love when main characters have depth to them. Cleo and Ivy are presented to us with a reason as to why they are the way they are. There are different ways to have a family and a support system and this book presents both a supportive blood family and a found family in friends and coworkers.
I can’t wait to read the sequels, particularly that third book, it seems like it will have a lot of drama.
Thank you to Elle Cobin for providing me with an eARC.
Wow. Getting to ARC read for debut authors has been an honor and a pleasure. Elle's book is incredible. I love Cleo and her adorable family. I love Ivy and her sweet personality.
Meeting our leading ladies, we find out that each of them had gone through an emotional upheaval, of two different sorts.
Ivy works at a local coffee shop, owned by her best friend, and has seen Cleo almost every day for three years. Over that time, she's developed a crush on a woman she knew nothing about.
Cleo is a career woman, who walks to work every day. She struck out on her own after her upheaval, unable to stay at her previous employer.
While watching her niece, Sophie, Cleo takes the girl to get a hot chocolate and, quite literally, crashes into Ivy's life.
The chemistry is instant and steady. The dates, the meeting of the important people, and everything about Cleo and Ivy's relationship was written so well. It was relatable and believable.
I can't wait to see more from Elle in the future! She's got me hooked.
Trust Fall is a charming story about the beginnings of a slow and steady relationship, beautifully handled and wonderfully sweet. The layers of family drama and an accidental mistake added emotional depth and authenticity to the narrative.
Thank you to Elle Cobin for the ARC. Trust Fall will be released on November 28th.
Cleo is a architect, busy starting her own firm. She has no time for love, plus she got burned badly by a ex. She also has a highly demanding new client who's a bit of a dick.
Ivy is a barista and watches Cleo walk by her coffee shop longingly. And she gets teased about it by her coworkers.
Out with her niece Sophie, Cleo learns her ex-friend, Megan, is her new teacher. Oh joy. She also finally ends up in Ivy's shop, where they have a crash into hello.
I was amused that the whole staff are aware of Ivy's crush and ship them. As does a bunch of customers. Ivy decides to take a chance and write her number on her cup.... Sadly Cleo next visited her family, whom saw it and teased her mercilessly.
Ivy and Cleo start dating, which is adorbs.
Ivy confesses her parents were both elitist and homophobic, and threw her out when she came out. Lucas, her boss, and the staff are her found family now.
Cleo was married to Lauren, who's was a powerful, go getter. They had a big wedding, all the stops. Two years later, Cleo found out her and her best friend, Megan, were sleeping together. Worse, she and Megan had known each other since they were kids.
Ivy finds out Cleo's asshole client is Ivy's brother. She thinks Cleo kept it from her intentionally, freaks, and bolts.
Lana, Cloe's assistant who's been a regular at Ivy's, visits and explains how Cloe helped her. She promises that Cloe would never do that to her deliberately.
Cloe and Ivy make up, end.
3.5 stars. Solidly good, didn't blow me away. Some plot threads felt like they were dropped, but apparently there are sequel books coming.

I loved this book so much! It takes us back to the roots of what’s it’s like to fall in love with someone. We meet Cleo, an architect, and Ivy, a barista, who are both nervous about letting themselves fall in love but when their worlds collide, they learn to love and learn to trust and this book is everything wholesome about that journey.
In this genre, sapphic romance, it can be hard to find books that are spice free but this was. Instead sex is implied but it doesn’t leave the reader hanging. The story is well rounded, full, cosy and comfortable. It’s a perfect autumn and winter read. A simple and gorgeous love story about two women who are learning about what life could be like if they can learn to trust again. RECOMMEND! I’m excited to see what this author brings next!
This is a cute slow burn story with side characters you want to befriend and a couple, you can see from a mile off, who deserve the love and support they give to each other.
I’m not sure if I missed the first time the surname was said, so I was very much in the same shocked boat at the plot twist break-up. It was completely out of the blue for me but such a good twist! If Ms Cobin branches out into mystery writing I would love to read those books, because that made my jaw drop.
A lovely, very special book. Each character added something to the story; they were well written and drew you in wanting to know more about them in the upcoming books.
Thank you Elle Cobin for the ARC epub copy of your brilliant debut novel.

Trust Fall is a romance in its simplest and purest form. We get to discover Cleo and Ivy as they get to know each other and slowly fall in love.
They both have been hurt in the past, and it was wonderful to see them give their connection a chance despite their need to protect themselves. Their interactions were really sweet, their dates were so nice, and I loved how they got teased by their friends and families.
The cast was full of interesting characters with interesting stories. I can’t wait to read what is in store for them.
4.5⭐️!!! Such an amazing book! I loved how well Ivy and Cleo connected and how amazing each and every one of the side characters were! I thought that both FMCs had some really great character depth to them and they felt like a real person to me! It was not spicy but it didn’t need to be because it was such a cozy, heartwarming read! I highly recommend if you’re looking for a cute, romantic, low to slight angsty, feel good sapphic romance!! A big thank you to Elle Cobin for the ARC!! And of course all thoughts and opinions are my own!
This book was absolutely INCREDIBLE! Let's start with the FMCs: Ivy and Cleo are everything you want a book couple to be. I mean, they're seriously the cutest! I loved following along and seeing their story unfold!
Now for the book itself: While this may be a debut novel, it certainly doesn't read as one. Elle's writing style is fantastic and the story flows very well! I'll be looking out for any and everything she writes in the future! 💜💜
Meet cute and great chemistry make for an adorable romance. 😍 Ivy had been pining for Cleo for a long time before they crashed into each other and started dating. Both women have some emotional baggage and it’s not easy for them to trust someone, but they overcome their obstacles and get a nice, happy ending.
I enjoyed reading this cozy romance, thank you for the ARC author Elle Cobin!
I wasn’t prepared for how much I would enjoy this beautiful, gentle, heartwarming sapphic romance. It’s a wonderfully crafted novel that flows so easily that you barely notice you’re reading because you feel immersed in the lives of the delightful characters. It’s honest and raw and shows how fragile but fixable the human heart is. The best news is there’s going to be another book.🥳
