The next morning, I woke covered in blood, bruised, and with no recollection of what had happened.
Now, back at St. Monarché, the Ferrum Syndicate has arrived.
And one of them, the one with midnight blue eyes, filled with too many emotions to make sense of—watches me as if I’m both his downfall and his obsession.
He loathes me. I can see it in every glance, and every breath.
But beneath that hatred lies something neither of us dares to name.
My mind may have forgotten him… but my body never did.
Arlo
Ophelia Bellanti.
The woman who destroyed my world, and doesn’t even remember doing it.
I came to make her pay.
To break her the way she broke me.
But she looks at me like I'm a stranger.
I can’t decide what’s worse, that she forgot… or that I never can.
THIS WAS JUVENILE. It's trying so hard to be a bully romance but the characters were all over the place, unable to make up their mind if they want to be good or bad. Frankly, the whole reason why the MMC acted that way towards the heroine was UNJUSTIFIED. There were loop holes in their relationship or connection apart from sex - zero trust. The whole reason why they fell apart was because they didn't communicate.
Also, I got tired waiting for the other shoe to drop. The first 3/4 of the book was just the heroine going through her mundane life while playing push-and-pull with Arlo.
How do I even explain my feelings toward this book? Honestly... I don’t fully understand them myself.
Let’s start with the characters... Ophelia was sweet and pretty but her personality felt very average to me. She didn’t annoy me enough to hate her but she also didn’t make me love or feel attached to her... As for Arlo even though he hated her, he never truly disrespected her. Even when he hurt her with his words he never crossed a line that made me hate him... In fact the main reason I ended up liking him was because of how much he loved her.
The story itself was written in a very classic way and the reason behind their conflict the thing that made him hate her was honestly so trivial. The plot was simple there were many inconsistencies, and the author exaggerated descriptions of completely unnecessary things just to increase the page count... Honestly if this book had been shortened to around 200 pages, it would’ve been much better than what we got... It genuinely felt like the page count was doubled only to make the book look thicker, because the story definitely did not deserve all that length.
Also I absolutely would not classify this book as dark romance.. The events felt cartoonish in a ridiculous way, and there was nothing truly dark or disturbing about the story at all.
In the end I didn’t enjoy reading this book but at the same time I don’t feel strongly negative toward it either so I’ll give it 3 stars.
It started amazing and then kinda dipped halfway through. So happy I didn’t DNF because omg the ending IN TEARS what the helliante this how did you do this to me I’m wrecked.
Ophelia lives a complicated life, made even more so when she wakes up injured and covered in blood with two years of memories gone. Then sons of a rival syndicate show up at her university. Arlo transferred to St Monarche for one reason, to get revenge on the girl he once loved. No matter she doesn't seem to remember him or what she's done.
I was so pulled in with all the complicated relationships and completely surprised by what Ophelia's memories revealed. I'm gonna need a book for each of the friends too, because I NEED to know what's going on.
“Kiss Me Like I Didn’t Kill You” Shook me far more than I expected. The tension, pain, and magnetic pull between Ophelia and Arlo are so strong that I honestly couldn’t put the book down. The dark academia atmosphere feels heavy, haunting, and completely addictive. I was blown away by how their pasts haunt them, how hard they fight their feelings, and how every moment between them feels like it’s about to ignite. It’s the kind of book that stays with you long after you finish it.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My problem is with FL I think... Her personality is just so dull, I think I like her sister better. But instead of trying to solve the mystery of the murder. We see her go monotonous through her daily life. Wake-up early, dress up, go horse riding, hooking up with the male interest etc. It's getting very repetitive and I'm in the middle of the book. I want to continue reading only to find out her lost memories and how it will end.
It had a promising start but I expected much more from the conflict than just one rooting from a misunderstanding and then the twin revelation. For a mafia universe, theirs barely felt like one aside from the excessive display of wealth and power. Maybe it was the crime and darkness that was missing? I'm not really sure. Every threat remained just that and nothing else really happened.
It was nice that Arlo acknowledged what led him to do things the way he did, but for someone who seems to know everything and be in control every time that was just plain stupid, reckless even. Then again, of course he is because he's in love...like a high schooler. Speaking of, it somehow shocked me that he was having his master's in the institution. I really thought they are of the same age until it was mentioned otherwise in passing.
Their chemistry was so good, it was a shame that their past wasn't explored as detailed—the mundane things they did back then, the knitted hat, the "midnight eyes" that she lost every right to use. It left me wondering what their dynamic was before he hated her.
Overall, it's a good story, though not as "Dark Enemies to Lovers" as it claims. She didn't even hate him enough until the end was nearing. With that, I agree with the guy, Ophelia is just too good for this world.

I was lied to. I was bamboozled. I was hoodwinked. I don’t think I’ve hated a book as much as I hated this one. This is gonna be a long one because I need to rant at how absurdly bad this book was.
The only reason I picked this up because of the cover.
Don’t buy into the propaganda, take it from me.
This book was so bad it made me want to pull my teeth out. Did I still finish it? Yes I did. Hear me out. I needed to know the ‘mystery’ and was hoping it would redeem the book. Did it? Absolutely not. All it did was make me angrier and hate everyone in the book. It also made me hate myself because I tortured myself reading this book.
Let’s start with the character development. There was none. Now, onto the plot. There was none.
I mean it had potential, like the premise was interesting enough to make me pick it up but it lost me after they met.
So the main girl Ophelia loses her memories and wakes up in her dorm all bloody and injured. Like that’s a cool start right? Yeah, it all goes downhill from here.
So turns out girl has amnesia and doesn’t remember anything from the past two years. And so the plot thickens. So now she’s in a world where her friend group has all fallen apart and has beef, there are these strange men at the uni she’s in and it’s apparently a big deal and there’s just a lot happening.
So of course none of this is developed. And the girl is immediately drawn to the main guy Arlo. He recognises her and there’s clearly history that she doesn’t remember. Oh and he hates her. Which is why 0.3 seconds after she introduces herself, he kisses her. And she does nothing. The entire story then continues with Arlo constantly being up in Ophelia’s business and forcing himself on her while she just takes it. And as he’s doing this, he’s so freaking rude to her and tells her he hates her and that he wants to ruin her life. He also acts all macho and possessive to the point it was actually so icky. Like one of his friends could talk to her and he’d threaten to kill them. Like ew. Please stop. Anyways. This continues the whole entire book and Ophelia. Just. Takes. It. She pissed me off so bad like bro get a restraining order.
And throughout the book (and this is why I stayed) girl is getting these cryptic notes calling her a murderer. Oh and also someone was found dead at the start of the book.
Anyways, to the ‘romance’ - halfway through the book Arlo decides he’s had enough. And he gives her this whole speech of how he can’t see her anymore and all that. And get this: Ophelia is heartbroken. And the audience is.. confused?? Like??? I was seething like this man who’s been nothing but rude to her is coming out of the blue saying HE can’t do this anymore????
So obviously girl spends the next chapter in misery and crying and all that until, get this. She goes to his house to chat and finds another girl in his bed and he’s all smirky and going on about how he hates her (we get it dude, find a new line). Naturally, this is where the dramatic scene happens when the girl gets a headache and BAM memories are back. For me. I was like yess this is it. This might redeem the book. We’re gonna find out what happened and FINALLY understand why he hates her so much. Like it must be something so big and so justified.
I was so wrong.
Turns out Arlo had a twin and he saw his twin kissing her and she ended up killing him as self defence for him forcing himself on her. Did I mention that for like a year before girl lost her memories they were together. And he never told her that he had a twin. And he all of a sudden sees them together in the forest and assumed she’s cheating. And that she killed his brother to get rid of the evidence. So the entire book when he was so rude to her, he was trying to get revenge.
It gets worse. Literally the next chapter Arlo finds out the truth - his brother forced himself on her and as self defence she smashes a rock on his head and he ends up dead. Panicked, she runs and gets hit by a car (causing the amnesia, memory loss and everything) and her dad’s people?? Just bring her home unconscious and injured and tuck her in bed. This is never addressed.
Anyways. When Arlo (what a stupid name too) finds out about this he’s livid and guilty. And conveniently now shares that his brother was mentally ill and psychotic and even tried to kill him when he was younger. And he never thought to question what actually happened. And was blinded by the thought she cheated and killed his twin. I was about to cut a fothermucker. So this whole book he’s awful over a misunderstanding.
This is where he starts to apologise (finally I guess?) but get this. (And this one’s crazy) Ophelia is the one now being apologetic. Like huh?? And she’s going on about how guilty she is and that they can’t move on from this and dudes like NO! this wasn’t your fault, my twin was cray cray you were right to kill him. And girlie is over here having a melt down.
It gets better. She runs off, gets into the car and ends up in a massive car crash. Life threatening. He shows up when there’s police and ambulances and the whole nine yards.
And here’s my favourite part. Girl flat lines as the paramedics are giving her CPR and they’re like welp we’ve lost her. And dudes like NO! (Again) and literally punches her chest and… it’s a miracle!! We have a pulse (unfortunately) and the paramedics are in awe. And the audience is screaming. And I wanted to kill her myself.
For the next couple of chapters girl is in a coma and this dude is crying over her and feeling guilty and is determined to win her back and never leave her and blah blah blah. So naturally he makes a deal with her father to marry her.. while she’s in a coma I may add. Also they’re all mafia families btw??? Anyways so then obviously she wakes up and is still guilty for killing his brother and all that and the narrative is just completely flipped onto her feeling bad meanwhile this man is completely off the hook for being the worst human ever and treating her like crap. And then they get engaged and all is forgiven and the end. And I’m still not over the fact that I wasting precious minutes reading this crap.
Don’t read it.

If you like your male book characters a little (or a lot) obsessed, you will love Milo. Octavia and Milo bring you lots of banter and laughs with their side characters.
Dark, addictive, and completely unputdownable. This book pulls you in from the first page and refuses to let go. The tension between the characters is electric—every glance, every word feels loaded with meaning. It’s the kind of story where love and danger blur into something irresistible.
S.B. Lennox has a way of writing characters that feel intense, flawed, and real, making you root for them even when you probably shouldn’t. The chemistry? Off the charts. The drama? Perfectly chaotic.
If you love dark romance with a dangerous edge, this is one you need on your shelf.

"Kiss me like I didn't kill You" was the best book I have ever read. I have seen this book on instagram reels and couldn't wait to read it. When I bought this book I devoured it in 2 days. It was the most beautiful and emotional book I've seen and read. The heroine and Hero in this book were 🔥🔥🔥. I rated this a 5 and recommend this book. The other characters in this book were also very established and can not wait for the next.. Thank you S. B Lennox🩷🩷
Above all, the story is good, but personally I started reading the book because of the amnesia plot, and I just think it got lost in the middle, like on the skie trip, how does Ophelia even know she owes one? I thought she had lost her memories of two years, then how does she remembers the skie trip of the year before? Well, overall I think it was a good read, I just don't think it was one of the best reads I've ever had.
