Mated to the Monster: Possessive Monster Romance Book with Aliens

Rate this book
Lamia is ready to be matched.

She’s done with bad dates, half-effort boyfriends, and the ticking clock of biology. Officially in the “geriatric pregnancy” category, she isn’t wasting another year on men who can’t commit. So she signs up for an alien matchmaking program that promises the perfect mate. A mate who’ll cherish her, adore her, and give her those alien babies she deserves.

The problem? Her match comes with… special conditions.

His kind’s courtship standards involve stalking, home invasion, and all sorts of behavior frowned upon in polite society. Still, Lamia signs the contract. What’s a little risk in the pursuit of a balanced relationship? But as the days stretch on with no sign of her mysterious suitor, she starts to wonder if she’s been ghosted by an apex predator.

Vlacul doesn’t understand what went wrong.

He’s been courting his human from the moment she agreed. He’s been escorting her, protecting her, guarding her, everything his species does to prove devotion. But she refuses to acknowledge him, a clear rejection in his culture.

The moment he saw her, he was lost.

Now he just needs her permission to pounce.

A high heat, sci-fi romance for fans of dark fated mates, possessive alien lovers, and consent driven chaos that ends in cozy violence. This story is recommended only for readers who are really into domestic skirmishes and safe words.

I'm just a lady with a foul mouth who really likes writing titillating stories about characters who go through experiences we don't have here on earth.

I like tea.

Yoga is life, meditation is therapy, and a birdfeeder right outside the window is the meaning to life, the universe, and everything.

He’s already in her house. She just hasn’t caught him yet.

Lamia’s done wasting time. Tired of half-effort men and running out of patience for dead-end romance, she signs a contract with an alien matchmaking agency. Her reward? A mate built to cherish her, protect her, and give her everything she’s never had. The fine print? His species takes courtship... differently. She knows what she’s signing up for and signs anyway.

Vlacul chooses her the moment she agrees. He watches from the shadows, guarding her, waiting for a signal she’s ready. In his world, silence means rejection. But when she finally responds, she does it her way. She arms herself, sets the stage, and dares him to come closer.

The hunt is physical and emotional, sharp and tender. She challenges his instincts. He listens to her boundaries. They push, pull, adapt. What starts as predator and prey turns into something that feels dangerously close to love.

This isn’t soft. It’s fierce and charged, driven by instinct, shaped by consent, and rooted in mutual respect. Where blood meets bonding, something real takes hold. She’s no victim. He’s no monster. Together, they make the rules.

She learns how to wield control without losing herself. He learns how to hold back without disconnecting. Their bond builds through tension, resistance, and radical trust, until what’s between them isn’t just survival. It’s choice.

A steamy alien-human monster romance with BDSM, primal play, CNC, and predator-prey dynamics, exploring consent, identity, trust, intimacy, power, instinct, transformation, and the drive to belong. It's about building trust through resistance, shaping identity through connection, and claiming love in a world where desire pushes limits but never ignores them. It's not about playing safe, it's about knowing the line and choosing to cross it together. ‍

The Elevator Pitch: A scorching alien romance where the hunter gets under her skin long before he catches her. She signs the contract knowing the danger is part of the deal, but nothing prepares her for the thrill of being wanted like this. Sharp with heat and tension, it’s a love story born in the shadows and sealed in sweat, teeth, and trust.

Consensual non-con, done well. I felt like Deiri Di did a really good job writing this type of smut. Even when the main characters were in the thick of a scene, the use of safe words were effective and respected. There are a lot of stories out there where consent is ignored and rape is explained away with instinct. This was not the case. These type of stories have never really interested me until recently, and it was refreshing to read.

While the Deiri Di stories may be short, I feel like she has well rounded characters with enough background that it leaves you wanting more.

This is the second story I have read of hers and I felt like the female main characters were written different in each story. I know that sounds weird to say, but I have read so many stories where the author writes the main character of each very similar. It is like they have a formula and they don't want to stray.

I really enjoy Deiri Di writing and can't wait for more.

If you’ve ever wished dating came with clearer rules—and a guaranteed happily-ever-after—this book flips the entire romance script in the most entertaining, swoony, laugh-out-loud way possible. Mated to the Monster is equal parts monster romance, cultural misunderstanding comedy, emotional yearning, and deliciously primal courtship.

And yes, it’s consensual… even if the alien definition of “courting” is a little more stalker-ish than Lamia expected.

Their dynamic becomes:

🔥 Primal but tender
🔥 Protective but respectful
🔥 Hungry but deeply consensual
🔥 And unexpectedly emotional

The book shows beautifully that:

“With consent, anything is possible.”

Even a romance between a determined human woman and a love-starved alien predator who worships the ground she walks on.

Why This Book Works So Well

This story is perfect for readers who love:

✨ Monster romance with HEART
✨ Humor built on cultural differences
✨ A heroine who knows what she wants
✨ A hero who courts with intensity and devotion
✨ Slow-burn tension leading to explosive payoff
✨ Consent woven thoughtfully into every “monster” moment
✨ Alien worldbuilding that feels fresh and clever

It’s both funny and surprisingly touching, balancing primal heat with emotional depth.
Mated to the Monster is a standout in the alien matchmaking subgenre—playful, spicy, and unexpectedly sweet. Lamia and Vlacul’s romance proves that love doesn’t always fit human norms… and sometimes that’s exactly what makes it satisfying.

Lamia has signed a mating contract and is having her friend read it through after the fact. The contract has particular terms and conditions that aren’t human normal. As her friend Porcha reads through, she fusses at her for not reading it fully before signing it. Lamia can be impulsive, but when she saw the picture and saw what his primary directive would be afterwards, she signed, skimming over the rest.
Mated to the Monster is a great read with a different perspective on the human alien mating contract books, it’s quite intriguing. The characters are written well also. Grab this book and enjoy, the author says she’s working on Porcha’s story, can’t wait to read that too.

Peach apple smoothie. And everything stops. A check in. Very nice. Lamia and Vlacul are 2 individuals who signed up for a specific contract to mate BDSM style. But honestly, it was more stalker vibes and fighting him that turn Vlacul on. It's the chase. It's not intense or heavy which I liked. It's very short but there's an explanation how his courtship/desires are met, which Lamia wants to do, as he tries to do everything to please her in return.💋✴️💋 Both parties consent. I appreciate that even more. If you like spicy alien romances, you should check this one out. Happy reading.*•>§<•*💙🩵💙🩵

Mated to the Monster is a spiced short read from author Deiri Di that finds it’s MFC Lamia disillusioned over never finding the ONE which leads her into joining an alien matchmaking service and not quite reading over the contract very well before signing.
Her match MMC Vlacul has some special cultural expectations where courtship is concerned that leads to some interesting interactions with his new match for them both.
Enjoyed the writing and characters in this entertaining Sci-Fi romance adventure.
Can’t wait for her bestie Porcha’s story!.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a fun quick romance. I loved the cultural differences. It made things interesting. Lamia was quick to sign a contract without reading all the details, so while she eagerly awaited Vlacul to arrive and start courting her, he'd already begun. But she didn't notice the things he'd changed in her home or his scent in her space, or acknowledge him at all. Was she rejecting him? When they meet in person, she's eager and it's funny her trying to resist her initial reactions and impulses to accept him immediately and send him the wrong signals. 4 stars

Mated to the Monster is book two of the Smutt Books Short Alien Romance.

Lamia is ready to begin a new chapter of her life and that was signing up for the mate program. She has been matched it a con-non-con individual and is excited for the experience. What we get is some spicy moments between these two. Vlacul needs to feel like he has earned Lamia and she has to fight against his dominance for more. Short read, but definitely high in spice.

The second book in the Smutt Books Short Alien Romance series. Lamia, who signs up for an alien matchmaking program after becoming disillusioned with conventional dating. She is matched with Vlacul, but their relationship is far from normal, as his species operates under a very different set of rules. It is a well-written story with a very compelling plot, great characters, and a happy ending. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Fun, real short and delightful

Dual 1st person pov, earth. HEA, 2 peppers spice, but with some serious kink and triggers. Some species are attracted by the chase, the stalking, the proofing that they can dominate. But what if your intended does not even notice your stakerish courtship? How to make it work? This was fun, quick, like a small coffee break. If you like stalking and con non con, this is absolutely worth it.

This is the second book in this short read series. Lamia signs up for an alien matchmaking program. Having given up on the usual methods in meeting a prospective partner. :) Her match is Vlacul. but there is a catch, it's not going to be the norm for her. His kind do things very differently. Loved it. :)

good short story!

This was a super cute (spice level 🌶️🌶️) that is pretty short. I liked the two friends - they were fun, playful personalities. My only criticism would be just a tad more fleshing out of our MMC! It would have made him more three dimensional instead of a hard two. I enjoyed the story and look forward to the next one!

This is a super steamy consensual, non-consent story. I know, that sounds confusing, but it's the only way I can describe it. Vlacul and Lamia have been matched, and now the courtship begins. That is all I will say! It is a great story with plenty of spice, and yes, it has a perfect happy ending.

The relationship between our MCs might be a little different from what we're used to on modern Earth, but what's really important is that everything is based on consent and that both of them are genuinely enjoying the experience, which they absolutely are.

Mated to the Monster: Possessive Monster Romance

I loved the story! It just needed to be a whole lot longer. Short novels can be quick and cute if not needing much of a storyline but when there is an awesome storyline, it should totally be a full novel. This one is so one of those. Please add more to this story Deiri Di! I will be your first in line to read it.

Alien matchmaking, yes… but the big selling point here is that he only gets going if she actively tries to resist and kill him—stab, shoot, full resistance. It short, wild, and popular, but mmm… no. I’ll pass

Spicy, male female, 1st person dual point of view, paranormal romance. I really loved these characters and hope the author will give us longer stories for them. I felt the cnc was handled very well and can't wait to see what the tropes will be in the next installment!
