We said it was only a kiss. A moment. But I can’t forget her—and I don’t want to try.
Kingston Elise Anderson was never supposed to be mine. She’s Tarryn’s best friend, eleven years younger, and everything I shouldn’t want. After the fire, she was living in her childhood bedroom. I offered her my guest room—temporary, safe, controlled. Only nothing about Elise is controllable. She’s warmth where I’m all restraint, hope where I’ve built walls. When she left for France, I told myself it was better this way. But every message, every letter, pulled me closer instead of setting me free. Now she’s back, and the distance between us feels like the most dangerous thing of all. Because this time, walking away isn’t an option.
Elise Kingston Paradise has always been the calm in every storm—steady, distant, untouchable. Until he wasn’t. One kiss changed everything, and now the man I once saw as untouchable is the one I can’t stop wanting. But my life’s already in ashes, and his is built on duty. He deserves someone uncomplicated, not the woman still trying to find her footing. Then the letters started—his words across an ocean, his heart in every line. And when I came home, he was still there, waiting. Only some fires don’t die easy. And the truth about what caused mine might burn us both.
Dr. Kingston is a standalone romance with a guaranteed happily ever after. It’s the fifth book in the Brothers Paradise series and continues the saga of the Paradise family and their rivals. You can start here—but once you meet Kingston, you’ll want to know them all.
What you can expect from Dr. Kingston

Wait no more for Kingston's story. He is truly swoon worthy. Loyal, strong yet wounded and keeping himself slightly detached. The connection to Elise is what motivates him to try to reach out. Elise is outwardly optimistic and strong, but she also keeps a lot to herself. The emails are a lovely touch as they slowly open themselves up. Her time in France shows how truly strong she is and how much Kingston's belief in her keeps her going. The romance has the perfect amount of spice and surprises. This is a page turner for sure as their love story intertwines with the continuation of the sabotage of the Paradise winery. A very satisfying conclusion with a few twists. I loved catching up with all the Paradise family members and their partners. I am looking forward to the Dempsey family stories that are coming next.

Beautifully crafted final book to this series, probably my favourite with a few twists and turns along the way. I have been intrigued by the character of Kingston from the first book and couldn’t wait to read this one and it did not disappoint. So glad there is a follow-up series as well.

When Kingston Paradise followed his mom’s pathway into the world of medicine, as the firstborn son, he knew that he had 4 other brothers and even a younger sister who could step up to the challenge of managing his dad’s generational vineyard and winery. But, while he didn’t embrace dad’s generational profession, he did embrace his mom and dad’s loving and enduring commitment to each other and to their children.
And so, Kingston began to build his life, embracing the values of love and family in which he and his siblings had been nurtured. But unfortunately, the goal of a true and lasting relationship of love and commitment had been ripped apart when Kingston’s best friend and Kingston’s wife had declared their commitment to each other, leaving Kingston alone, confused and broken, seeking to discover how he had failed in fulfilling the needs of his wife and questioning his judgement in selecting friends. And so, he lost his ability to trust his heart.
And now, as his brothers are finding mates and starting families, Kingston is alone, lost and searching for answers to his failed marriage and friendship, questioning his judgement in relationships and fearful of never having a supportive, trustworthy partner he has observed with his parents and his siblings and their partners. And, he has lost trust in his judgement and the intentions of women who have knowledge of who he is as a physician and as one of the heirs to the Paradise family wealth—including dad’s brother and nephew.
And so, as the brothers follow mom’s medical career, only daughter Tarryn is following her dad’s pathway—tending and nurturing the family vineyards, gathering the plump grapes, and using the grapes' rich juices to mature and blend into delicious wines. But, Tarryn will not be without assistance. She will be joined by Elise, the daughter of the retiring vintner who has worked with dad through the years. But to prepare for her new responsibilities, Elise wants to professionally train in France. Awarded an internship at one of the finest vineyards and wineries in France, she has been invited to work and learn about the grapes from the fields to the blending and casking the rich grape juices, following the French winery’s process from field to bottle. But, not only is she trying to gain the professional knowledge and credentials in her area of study; she secretly wants to gain the trust and approval of Kingston Paradise, the oldest son of the Paradise family, a man who has lost his ability to trust friendship or romantic love.
So, Elise wants to gain the skills and knowledge for her own professional knowledge and to support her best friend, Tarryn, as she takes on the responsibilities of the family vineyard. And so, with her friendship with Tarryn and professional commitment to wine production demonstrated by her internship in France, Elise is eager to embrace her own professional growth. But she is also torn emotionally as she leaves to study a continent and an ocean away from Kingston, a man who is suffering from unhealed issues of trust—a condition which must be healed before he can truly offer his heart and future to another woman, especially to the sweetly beautiful Elise.
Once more Grace Maxwell has opened the world of the Paradise family to her readers, revealing the challenges and successes of the loving multigenerational family as each member seeks to embrace the values of love, support, passion and professional achievement without neglecting family connections. The Paradise series offers the reader a group of connected romances that can stand independently or blend as a generational love story.
I stumbled upon Dr. Greyson (Book1) by accident. While I loved the characters, I didn't love the writing. It felt bare, and I finished the book feeling like there was more to know, but I couldn't find it. But Ms. Maxwell had fueled interest in the other brothers, and I'm glad I didn't give up.
Each book has gotten better and deeper. The dialogue is fulfilling, and very funny at times. The descriptive language has improved incredibly. I can almost taste and smell the surroundings and feel the gentle touches and see the looks the characters give one another. I have felt all the emotions as if I were sitting next to the characters sharing their mental space.
From the beginning, Kingston has intrigued me. His quiet brooding and subtle hovering gave a glimpse of something deeper in him. Ms. Maxwell brought him to life. Nothing was wasted in this this book - and don't skip out on the secret letter!
Elise is precious. Seeing her come into her own was fun and inspiring to watch. She learned so much about herself and her worth. She's got a lot more grace than I do because I don't know if I would have handled some of her situations as gracefully. But she came out better because of her experiences. Ms. Maxwell showed that so well!
(Possible spoiler:) And finally, there's an end and cause for the chaos. It's upsetting, but I wasn't super blindsided. Some people just have evil in them and you can't fix them. But Ms. Maxwell showcased the resiliency and cohesiveness of the family that Vicky and Trace had created.
If you are unsure, take the leap. I've enjoyed this series so much. Thank you to Ms. Maxwell for creating this world and allowing us into it!.

Elisa Anderson has grown up surrounded by the Paradise Hill Family Estate Winery in British Columbia. In fact, she is next in line to become the vintner when her father retires, which will be after her three-month work exchange in France. At the moment, however, she is knee deep in water and mud with billionaire Dr. Kingston Paradise trying to turn off the valve that controls the pump house. Due to the magnitude of the storm, they hunker down in his cabin for the night and discuss the probability that the flood was created by someone trying to sabotage their vines.
While Kingston is older than Elise, they are friends and share loss because her mother died of cancer and his wife left him for his best friend. But there are also now shadows of feelings for each other that linger in the periphery, waiting to blossom, and they don’t fade but become more intentional while Elise is away learning different approaches to the wine industry. Meanwhile, Kingston’s private investigator provides evidence of the people behind the sabotage.
No spoil alert here, but suffice to say that this book is my favorite of the Doctors Paradise series. The two plot lines are brilliantly crafted and weave together seemlessly to create a romantic thriller that is absolutely riveting. I also love the details of living and working at a vIneyard that requires not only in-depth knowledge of viticulture but grueling dedication to maintaining diligence, at times during very difficult situations. But at the very heart of this story is love of family, partners, and friends who guide each other during the best and worst of times, listening, advising, understanding, and being present. Giant kudos to Grace Maxwell for an outstanding tour de force with just the right amount of sizzling passion!
I received this book as an ARC reviewer and voluntarily leave my honest opinion.
I really enjoyed this book. Part of the enjoyment came from really feeling like I knew all the other characters. It was really nice to see how some of the other siblings and their spouses/partners have continued to grow as couples and their families. In this particular book, I didn’t expect to enjoy Kingston as much as I did prior to reading the entire thing in one day. There was also a sense of closure or completion with regards to the ongoing sabotage at the Paradise family vineyards.
One thing that I wish there was a bit more of was the spicy stuff. Part of the reason for the diminished amount compared to the previous paradise sibling installment books is likely due to the fact that Elise and Kingston were long distance for a good duration. With that being said a correspondences between the two gave more depth than possibly would have occurred otherwise. Many questions I had about some of the family dynamics and more background about Kingston’s previous marriage were answered. Can’t wait to see what happens with the Dempsey Follies series as our favorite family continues to be a part of those stories. *Not opposed to another book down the line to find out how Elise and Tarryn along with the SILs move forward with the winery and their men!.

The final book in the Paradise family series does not disappoint. It carries on the vineyard sabotage story with the eldest Paradise brother, billionaire doctor inventor of an innovative orthopaedic joint replacement. Kingston has a traumatic emotional past that he keeps a guarded secret from everyone. When he shocks the assistant Vintner, his sister’s best friend, while she tries to stop more sabotage damaging the vines, he starts to see her in a different light. Unfortunately she’s leaving for France to study a large vineyard. Elise is trying to live up to stepping into her father’s footsteps as master Vintner at the Paradise farm. But following the stress of losing the cottage shared with her best friend and the continuing problems at the vineyard, everything seems to be imploding. France is an educational experience not quite was she was expecting. Hard work, a boss who seems to not appreciate her experience and missing home and Kingston. Letters in email form, from her man, keep her going as the relationship grows. A past relationship simmers unknowingly in the background ready to spoil everything. Can Kingston step up and make things right while the sabotage escalates putting vines and lives in danger. Everything comes to a head where we find out the depth of the complicated situation that leads to the attempt to destroy the Paradise Valley. Kingston reveals his secrets to everyone and enables his HEA.
I've been waiting for quite some time for Kingston's turn! I've been drawn to him since the beginning of the series with his brooding and quiet presence. Always there, making a grant entrance at family dinners but quiet at the same time. A man of very few words that I knew is worth discovering! And oh boy, I wasn't wrong! I'm just happy that Elise got to be that person to get Kingston out of his shell. They are made for each other! On paper, there are so many differences between them: the age gap, the distance, the forbidden little sister's friend but they were drawn to each other with their crazy chemistry! 🔥 The plot thickens with the vineyard family drama and the character development is right up my alley with this book. I enjoyed it and I recommend it as a standalone or as a add on to the series.
Overall, I wasn’t a huge fan of this book, I found there was a lot of unnecessary details that didn’t always make sense. And the drawn out story of sabotage really defied belief considering Kingston is a billionaire, and could have had security guards patrolling the vineyard in a heartbeat. I understand that the author wanted to build suspense, but that storyline just made everyone look incompetent. And honestly, even as someone who appreciates wine, the story in France became very tedious. Elise clearly needs therapy; working herself to death to prove her worth is futile if she still doesn’t value herself. I did enjoy the relationship between the siblings and glad that we got to hear small updates about their lives, but that was really the only thing that pushed me to finish this book.
Dr. Kingston is the last of the Paradise Brothers series. I’m sad to say goodbye to the Paradise family. Kingston the oldest son feels the weight of his medical company, the family vineyard and scars from a failed marriage. Elise the daughter of the vineyards vintner is also feels the weight of the loss of her mother and never feeling like she is important. The two form an unexpected relationship that is cultivated over e mails as Elise is in Paris crafting her wine making skills. As they finally share their true selves they realize how much they love each other. Their love is tested but in the end they fight for each other and their love. This is a wonderful end to the Paradise Series! I’m sad to say goodbye to the Paradise family but look forward to the next adventure Grace Maxwell takes us too!.

I have really enjoyed reading about Elise and Kingston, to see their connection grow even though they were apart was lovely to read. I liked seeing them coming together through their letters, to see how well they went together and I believed in them wholeheartedly. My heart hurt for them both when things were hard, when doubts set it, but with support they got through it all. The strain on the family was strong, the truths learnt hurt them and could have easily torn them apart. Revelations are made, secrets finally told and love grew, held and survived it all. I have really enjoyed reading this series.

The characters drove the storyline and they were very compelling and complex and complicated and perfectly steamy together. Plot was intriguing and well paced. World building was excellent and solidly drawn. thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend.

I have loved every book in this series. Each one gets better and better, but I’ve always had a thing for Kingston. Brooding, brilliant, a bit set apart from a family that loved him. He and Elise are perfect. Smart, witty, challenging personalities that simmer until the moment explodes. He’s held back out fear. She grounds him and he helps her feel as if she truly belongs. They are fascinating separately, but exceptional together. Grace Maxwell is a brilliant author. My heart relishes these stories. Easy reads that just make you feel good.
I loved that Kingston found his one. Elise had her own private demons but her going away put everything in prospective for her I believe. It was good to see there relationship develope through the letters and when Kingston showed up for her my heart soared. The nastiness of Max and his son took a back seat in my book to the development of their relationship. This was a good read and Im glad I saw it through to this book. Highly recommend!.

I’ve read this author before and enjoyed it, but not this time. This seemed like a light primer on wine business. Too long and to make the couple fall for each other over letters was just silly. I liked the ending but too much in between spoiled it for me. Also took too long to catch the villain. The whole Sebastian thing seemed unnecessary.
Dr. Kingston Book 5 of Brothers Paradise by Grace Maxwell and is Kingston and Elise's story. It's a complicated romance and shows the aspects of a multigenerational family and all it entails, it's a lovely story that just wrapped me up in its pages.

I really enjoyed this book . Nice ending but I wanted more to the ending. The extra letter was nice but I wanted they married and have a child on the way or something along that line.
Excellent story and it draws you in. I wanted more suspicion about Sebastian. He was a snake and I wanted to see more build-up around that. A few typos which can be easily fixed. Loved the ending.

I hate that this is the last book of this series but I love how it ended. I knew there was more to Kingston than what he showed in the other books. I actually connected more with him I think. Elise grew up on the vineyard with the Paradise family so she has seen and been around for a lot that has happened but the last thing she expected was to fall, hard, for one of them. I can’t wait for more from Grace. 🖤🔥🍷🔥🖤
My favorite quotes from Elise:
• I’ll carry every scrap of knowledge back to Paradise Hill. I won’t let Sebastian write my story. And when Kingston steps off that plane from London, I’ll be ready—not just as the woman who survived this place but as the one who’s claiming her future.
• Under the Argentine stars, with family surrounding us and love bubbling up in every laugh and every glass raised, forever doesn’t just feel possible—it feels like it’s already begun.
