So, in book 1, Damon (an MC from book 1) is hired as the head social media manager but at the beginning of this book, it's implied that he's an accountant. In addition, Felix (an MC in this book) is introduced in book 1 as being the VP at Ashford Agency, but in this book, he's called a junior partner. In addition, at one point, Felix goes to Kieran and Damon's apartment for dinner, and it's implied that it's in Brooklyn, but in book 1, that's where Damon had lived, but he moved in with Kieran in Manhanttan once their mate bond was established. There are other places in the book that felt confusing, sometimes as if the POV had switched to be under the wrong person, making it seem as though who was the alpha and who was the omega were switched. This book has a lot of back-and-forth before Felix and Owen are truly settled as mates, which is fine considering their relationship began during an accidental claiming during a hookup. In fact, it was absolutely ridiculous how quickly their relationship became solid considering the circumstances, and the fact that they exchanged love confessions after only knowing each a few weeks where they barely talked to each other before being forced to spend time together during Owen's heat, and even then, Owen wasn't lucid most of the time during those few days. I will say that I like how the author has made heat able to be satisfied just through an alpha's presence and pheromones without sex and knotting being a biological requirement. It makes the heat feel even more special with the alpha helping the omega just by cuddling him and providing care: water, food, cool clothes for the fever. Anyhow, the ending felt truly abrupt because they might have been happy together, but it wasn't publicly known yet, and they had yet to deal with Owen's mother or the board at Owen's company.

I was really hoping there was going to be improvement in the second book but I’m left feeling disappointed. The ending was so sudden and unexpected and feels like the story isn’t finished. So much more could have been added that would have made this feel complete instead of the gaping holes left by an unfulfilled plot. So much potential but a bit of a let down. Don’t think I’m even going to bother reading the next book.

Omgosh, his mother has been put into the book as a pushy, overbearing nag and we dont get to know how she reacted to the news?!
Okay, that little drama fest aside, I loved this book. It was super sweet. Even if i didnt really care for Owen that much and really felt that Felix needed to grow a pair. However, it worked out for the flow of the book and I can deal with it.

Too cute!
I almost thought that Felix was going to give up on Owen! But I was so glad that Owen let Felix love and care for him the way that he deserved. Such a good book! Really enjoyed it!!
