The buildup in this book was perfection. I loved that we got to know each character before they met each other. I was wondering what Chief's secrets were gonna be and wheww they were exactly what I expected. Even though more context was given about the situation, he was still dead wrong. I hated Fragile went through all that, but hopefully, she had met a good one in Fatz. My heart dropped when Teyanna's situation was revealed. I can't wait to see how that's gonna turn out. That dang Zaria and Gawalah are trash, and I hope they get everything they deserve. Book 2 needs to be released quickly because there are so many things left to unfold.

3.5 ⭐️. I have some mixed feelings about this one. Most of this was good and drama filled but when Fragile meets Fatz her reaction to him through me off. She was very clear about not being attracted to this man to the point she was dogging him. Her first impression of him set the tone for me. I can understand him not being her regular type but damn. Plus why Fatz and Chubbz never got a shirt on? I get they confident but all the time? Even when it’s raining? Lol. Anyways this is not a standalone. Ends on a cliffhanger so I’ll still probably read book 2 to get the tea. I suggest reading for yourselves to make your own opinions.

This should have been a DNF but since I’m in a reading slump I decided to put through.
Do these authors not believe in utilizing spell-check and editors? The amount of errors I came across. Also, this book contained all the isms and phobias - colorism, (why y’all calling folks dirt black and dark?) and homophobia jokes.
Furthermore I’m tired of reading books about weak FMC. Man takes woman’s car without permission and leaves her stranded at home. Other FMC proceeds to say “y’all love each other. You know men do stupid things.” WHAT IN THE F***?

So….
This is the first book that I’ve read by T’Ann Marie, but it is definitely not the last. It was well written, flowed well and kept my attention. Man who needs enemies when they have friends like Gwalah and Zaria. They were straight up snakes. But that will messed both of them up. That cliffhanger was not wanted but at least I can go straight to book two.

Cliffhanger Ending! Worth the read!
I cannot wait for part 2. What a cliffhanger! Gwalah and Zaria def gon get theirs smh. I am enjoying what Ms. T’Ann Marie got cooking up for us. Great read.
