Two choices. One light. One…oh, so dark. Either way, hearts will shatter...
Avery helped return the lost Summer Queen to her court, but it’s not enough. The evil ruler of Faerie still remains and must be stopped but the only one powerful enough to do it is the fallen King Orion….or his heir.
Now Avery’s further pressured to sacrifice her humanity and pledge her life to the fae, assuming her rightful place as ruler of Faerie, and stop the bloody reign of Queen Mabry.
With the weight of two worlds resting heavily on her shoulders, Avery's life turns upside down once again. Especially after discovering that the love of her life isn’t dead. Now she must decide between doing what's right or following her heart.
But the heart isn't always wise.

A big red bow. That's the impression that you get when you finish this book.
Everything is wrapped up neat and tidy and everyone is happy happy joy joy. It doesn't really make sense, in no ones life is everyone happy with everything going completely right for them.
Some of the issues; Jack - reborn as human and then given the option of what he wanted to be.
Avery - Never has to choose. All this build up then nothing. / Sleeps with someone else is instantly forgiven / Whines all the time, it's like music to everyone else's ears / Is a college drop out after the entire reason she goes to the city is to go to school / Lies to all her friends is instantly forgiven / Instantly repairs the Dark fae kingdom by telling the ruler that she's marrying someone else. / Is so easily fooled by Mabry it's comical. No hesitation at all on her part.
Julie - Perfect in all ways, she never gets angry, always has coffee and has a perfect boyfriend. Decides she wants to get into politics and is the daughter of the biggest strongest fae king and is welcomed into the fold.
Max - She is pretty much the only character in the book that has any real character and then they nerf her. She is now given a love interest because that's what being a girl is all about. She is randomly immortal as per the end of the book, however earlier in the book it was stated that her grandfather died so he wasn't immortal.
Sullivan - Was decent, had some personality, then wham hit with the love virus and lost most of what made him almost a character.
Oden - Does everything to protect her, sells himself out to love her, endangers everything and then is snapped back to being a bad guy because she is done stringing him along.
Orion - Reborn and in seconds takes care of the 2 bad faeries that have been causing 20 years worth of grief.
The races: Winter court gets a long enough nod to 'almost' kill her with coldness and for us to see their kingdom without having any impact. Dark court repaired in an instant. Summer court is perfect cause Aunt Tess runs it. Seelie court repaired in a moment with a new princess The therians are money grubbing and that's all they are, and they are fine once the vampires start paying them for another service. The vampires. The biggest tick off for a species. They are all blood sucking monsters, except for 2. Then this old magic book is found belonging to Celadine and Jacks' mother that gives everyone the ability to become vampires that are good and civil and pure. Makes no sense.
I am glad I read the books because I got them autographed, but after reading the conclusion, all that 'conflict' that was going on, including a war and no one dying and everything being perfect, I could not in good conscience recommend the series to anyone I know.
I enjoyed the series. Each book is large enough to feel like a novel in itself, yet the transition between books is very skillful, Candace Osmond knows how to write.
There was enough misdirection and series tensions to retain the flow of the books. I don't need happy endings , just satisfying ones, but these books have both and I'm grateful. Too many Authors make serials out of stories that go on and on, and although many sequels are good, it's nice to see diversity from a writer and Candace is diverse.
A great ending to a magical trilogy. The final installment to this series did not disappoint. The quality of this story continued to delight and left most of our favorite characters a very happy ending. Overall well done, and will definitely be re-reading.
Loved every minute! I was worried things wouldn't get clued up in time but they totally did and I'm completely satisified. A fantastic final book to the trilogy.
With this anticipated conclusion you find yourself sitting on the edge of your seat remembering where we left off. Avery had just found Jack who she and everyone else thought was dead. From here we are thrust back into the love triangle of Jack, Oden and Avery, visiting the Summer Court with Avery’s Aunt Tessana, finding Avery’s father and fending off her evil mother and those are just the tip of the iceberg. Surprises and twists abound in this page turning final entry in the Iron World Series.
This is what everyone wants in a finale. Your questions are answered. Your heart is broken and mended a few times. Your favorite characters change both for the better and worse. This truly is one of the best final books in a series that I have read. Avery comes full circle from the first book. By the end of this book her choices will be made and she will continue to impact all of those she come in contact with whether they are human or fae. It isn’t just Avery who changes though, Jack has a huge transition in this book and he has his own choices to make. The story and characters came to such a magnificent conclusion I truly felt complete. I will miss the worlds and hope that maybe there will be a novella or two following Julie and Will or Sullivan and Max, but that is just my wishful thinking. Anyone who has already read the other two Iron World books you will definitely want to pick this up and you will find like me that Candace Osmond has truly honed her craft with this final book. If you haven’t started these book or are new to Candace Osmond this is one author that you don’t want to miss. So, if you’re looking for a good book for your Valentine’s weekend you will want to start with Iron & Wine the first book in the Iron World Series.
The final installment to the series is indeed a worthy end to the Iron World series, purely because it was surprisingly simple yet unexpected. I do not claim to know every story line or every plot that I have read, but this one might be one of those that I could say that the ending is nicely done.
With Avery on the brink of decision, and two men might hold sway to it, things get sticky pretty fast. After the three way war, the only thing that stands in the way of Avery's true love is the commitment and love she has for her family and friends.
If you have read the previous books, you will notice that Avery has little mention of her father, it turns out that there is a reason. Intrigued? You must follow up with the final book, because everything gets answered, piece by piece.
This is one of the series that I find the ending truly befitting the series. There are many surprises in this book, somehow I was convinced that the true hero was Avery, but in the end it was everyone in the book.
Since this series has concluded, definitely on my to recommend list.
