Working at Frank's and going home, is just another day in the life of Joslynn. When the gorgeous Marshall starts a routine of visiting the restaurant and sitting in the same spot everyday, it throws her life into a tailspin. He seems to be searching for someone or something, and Joslynn's co-workers, Frank and Tank, are determined to make her believe he's nothing but trouble.
With Marshall comes a string of events that put Joslynn in danger, and memories of things long buried come to the surface. People she thought she could trust soon become the enemy.
Who is Marshall? And why does he seem so familiar to Joslynn?
First up, this is more of a novella than a book. It took me less than an hour to read.
The story follows Joslynn, a young woman whom seems lost in her own world, her life revolving strictly between her waitressing and her home. Until the heavily tattooed Marshall starts coming in to her work and awakes a hunger within her and she starts to live life, not just survive it.
But trouble seems to be seeking out Joslynn and she is suddenly in a position where she can’t run and hide and no longer knows who she can trust with her life.
This book had a LOT of potential, however I felt that it didn’t reach it due to the size of the novel. It would have been great to see the characters better developed and the past explained in more detail. Hopefully this all happens in the next book which I’m assuming will happen due to the CLIFFHANGER ending.
I’m hoping for a lot more in the next book!
I was given a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Reviewed by Diana.
Joslynn works at a diner/restaurant and comes from a bad childhood. An abusive father and a mother who abandoned her. Marshall starts showing up at the restaurant on a regular basis, and Joslynn feels drawn to him. But she doesn't remember that they have a past. I can't get into much more without spoiling things. But I really enjoyed this story. It does end with a semi-cliffhanger. But everything does get resolved nicely in the next story. Marshall and Joslynn were great. There was mystery, suspense, and some romance.
Would you live in fear if you knew some one hated you so much that they wanted you gone? Joslynn is a waitress with memories that haunt her. Her own father hates her and told her numerous times he wished she were dead. Out of the blue comes Marshall, a man that takes her breath away. With Marshall comes a boat load of things happening to Joslynn and not for the better. This book ends with WTF, where is Marshall and Trevor? Off to read book 2
It would have been a brilliant read but the story didn't flow. Why were Marshall and Trevor looking out for her? How did they know her father wanted to kill her and then just up and disappear. Cliffhangers are not a good thing when the plot is all over the place but I love the author's imagination. Give me more details then connect them. Will read book 2.
Great read if...you enjoy romance, suspense, plot twists, and a cliffhanger.
Side Note: I enjoy Salice's work, but this one stands out above all the others. Her writing has grown, her characters are full of life and the story is fast paced leaving you a thirst for more. If you're looking for a quick, but great read, you've found it!
This waS actually a good story. The author could have easily resolved the storyline yet the story end abruptly. It seems almost contrived. And after the shock of the end there is not even a mention of the story continuing. Very poor marketing and disappointing. At this point I could care less where Marshall is. Good riddance!
Holy Hell! What have you done to me? I have fallen deeply in love with you Marshall! Joslynn is an amazing woman with a basic life, but in walks this hunk of a man to her work. He turns her world sideways and their story is rough, will they make it? I can't wait for book 2, Forgive Me!! Amazing work Salice, loved it!
I like the story line just not how it's told. It moves too fast and so does Jos. One minute she is panting over the guy with gunk all over his arms and the next he's her life line. I needed more story in between.
