Clash of Queens
Out of the frying pan into all-out war. If I want the throne, I’ll have to fight for it.
It took everything I had, and all my guys working for me and helping out, to defeat the false princess Saldrea and her henchwomen. But I barely have time to recover before her mother, Valnea, declares war on me.
Luckily the queen regent isn’t in a hurry to start that fight, but only because she plans to gather the entire might of the elven empire to ensure she crushes me and my little rebellion completely.
I need help now, but where can I turn?
My dashing angel Vyns, with whom I’m bound in spirit, says he’ll rouse the seraphim to aid me. Rook, the sinful incubus, who had been distant, is once again at my side. He can return to Urval, the fae realm’s version of hell, to see if the people there can help. Though first, I need an apology and an explanation for why he's been a dick lately.
Koar the stalwart dragon, is always at my side, a permanent protector and so very easy on the eyes. He’s suddenly interested in a relationship, and I can’t say I mind. I can use all the sexy distractions I can get.
And speaking of sexy distractions, Myel, my perfect Goth shifter-vampire, is everything I need, but he doesn’t seem to think so. And when he’s sent on a dangerous mission, our bond is once again pulled tight, which always makes me feel awful.
Then, along comes Bayn, the titan who helped me and my friends defeat Saldrea’s minions. And though we barely know each other, he’s demanding we get married. If we do, he’ll bring the might of the titans to fight on my side. Like I don’t already have enough to deal with.
And time is running out. If we don’t find allies soon, all of us will be crushed by the ruthless elves. All those I’d hoped to protect… will die.

This was a great book! Loved it! Loved all the character growth and the way her harems seemed to work together to bring about the war and themselves but there was something missing that the other book had. Maybe it's the fact that she didn't have to learn anything in this one. She would just test her magic and see if it would work. Maybe it's that everything seemed to work too well in this book. There didn't seem to be many setbacks.

The series was not great. I've read worse ones, but this one left a lot to be desired. For starters, an Academy series suggests that there's academy stuff going on. Other than a very brief portion of book 1, nothing academic was going on. That brings me to the next point, if Izzy didn't know she had magic and her magic was bound, shouldn't the academy been necessary for her to learn about this world and it's magic? Instead, it's basically rebel forces that train her. The Academy did nothing.
When I reviewed book 2, I said that I didn't like Izzy. While she was better in this book, I still didn't care for her. Her harem guys were ok, but I didn't really feel like there was great relationship building. Sure, they had sex, but there was so little relationship development outside the sex that it made "love" seem unbelievable.
Izzy winning so easily against the queen was unrealistic. We also don't get any real information on how the world changed with Izzy as queen. Maybe another series is on the horizon to say what happens with the group of dissenters who left and how the world improves with Izzy as queen. I don't know if I'd read it though because I struggled to finish this series.

Review of advance copy
This book was fire! It was so intense. Action and danger. From the first chapter, I knew I was going to devour this one. The world building was absolutely amazing. I’m the description was so well done. I felt like I was in the midst of everything. The chaos and betrayal and everything that took place. Just a great book. This was intense and the twists and turns had me turning the pages like no other. Thrilling story.

I tried, honestly i did.
I HATED Izzy, I tried to find something I liked but it never happened.
I got bogged down by all the sexy times because the plot was always shoved aside.
I skimmed the book to see if it got better, and nope. 87% getting busy, 10% she's so perfect/ I'm not good enough 3% plot.
Life is too short to read things I dont enjoy. 🖤

not my style
This wasn’t a bad series. The story line was pretty good and unique. The world was crazy and terrible and oh so sad and scary. And the smexy parts were spicy most of the time.. but I didn’t really like the relationships… yes there was a lot more building and communication in this book but it felt forced to me. Anyways moving on to the next read!

As the war comes to a head, it is fun to see Izzy’s character development and the dynamics between her mates come to fruition.

Don’t waste your time with this series. It literally lost the plot and nothing culminates to a satisfactory conclusion. It’s a convoluted, poorly written mess, with an undercurrent of assault that belies the heart of the genre and concepts.

.
The storyline had a cute ending but I still wanted so much more of all the characters, they made for a fun read.

My only thought is that wasn’t too believable just bc we supposed to believe she took down a whole system in like what? 2 months? Seems a bit fast ?
