Rob Sinclair (https://www.robsinclairauthor.com/) is the author of more than 30 novels. _Blind Pursuit _ was published early last March. It is the 34th title I’ve completed reading in 2026.

I received an ARC of this book for free through https://www.netgalley.com and I am voluntarily leaving this review. All opinions expressed are entirely my own. Due to scenes of violence, I categorize this novel as R.

Callum Murphy works in construction and considers himself the luckiest man alive when the sophisticated Lea Torrence agrees to marry him. Her career as a corporate consultant often takes her away, but together they’ve built a happy life. That life is shattered when police arrive at his job site with the devastating news that Lea is dead.

Grief quickly gives way to confusion. Callum soon learns he never truly knew his wife. “Lea Torrence” wasn’t her real name. She wasn’t a consultant, but an MI6 field agent. And her death was no accident. It was a brutal murder during a failed operation in Romania.

Callum is taken in for questioning by the police, then later questioned by MI6. Lea had Intelligence data in her possession at the time of her death. That data is now missing. Callum is repeatedly asked about it and its whereabouts. When Callum returns home, two identifying themselves as MI6 agents are waiting for him. Again they ask about the missing data.

Callum is taken in for questioning by the police, then interrogated by MI6. At the time of her death, Lea was carrying sensitive intelligence. Intelligence that is now missing. Everyone wants to know where it is, and why Callum doesn’t have answers. When he returns home, two claiming to be MI6 agents are waiting. They ask the same questions.

After being brought in for questioning yet again, Callum reaches his breaking point and bolts. With no new answers from the authorities, he begins his own investigation. He reconnects with his estranged brother and seeks out Lea’s real parents, uncovering clues she may have deliberately left behind.

Years earlier, on one of her first missions, Lea was with fellow agent Dennis in Toulouse, FR. They were following men they thought were up to no-good, though they had no real evidence. Over the years the same group of men repeatedly cross paths with Lea and Dennis.

Officially there is not enough evidence to launch a full investigation into them, but Lea can’t let it go and she continues on her own. What she finds leads her to believe that there is a mole inside of MI6. Agents Dennis and Lea are sent to Romania. The intended exchange leads to her death and the missing intelligence.

Dennis connects with Callum. Both are on the run from MI6. Dennis had been in love with Lea and had been disappointed when she chose to marry Callum. Now the two must weather an uncomfortable alliance to find the data Lea left behind. The mole inside of MI6 has everything to loose if the information is found. Will Callum find this last connection to his wife? Will he survive?

I enjoyed the 6.5+ hours I spent reading this 332-page suspenseful thriller. I enjoyed this plot-driven, nonlinear thriller. I have had the opportunity to read a few other of Mr. Sinclair’s novels. These include The Bonds of Blood, Dead Reconning, and Angel of Death. I have enjoyed them all. While I like the chosen cover art, the drone flying through skyscrapers really doesn’t have much to do with the story. I give this novel a rating of 4.7 (rounded to 5) out of 5.

First and foremost, a large thank you to NetGalley, Rob Sinclair, and Boldwood Books for providing me with a copy of this publication, which allows me to provide you with an unbiased review.

Always eager to discover authors who are fairly new to me, I turned to this thriller by Rob Sinclair, and was quickly reminded why his name deserves attention. Set primarily in the United Kingdom, with tension that spills across Europe, Sinclair delivers a taut, fast-paced thriller that keeps the pages turning late into the night in search of answers.

Callum Murphy believes he is living a stable, comfortable life with his wife, Lea, a successful corporate professional. That illusion shatters when the police arrive at his door to inform him that Lea is dead. Grief and confusion quickly give way to shock when Callum learns that his wife was not who she appeared to be. Lea was an MI6 operative, and sensitive intelligence from her final mission has vanished. Before Callum has time to process any of this, armed strangers invade his home demanding answers he doesn’t have. Forced on the run, Callum must navigate a deadly game of deception, unsure whom he can trust as he flees across Europe, dodging British police, MI6 operatives, and enemies who believe he holds the key to Lea’s missing intel. A brilliant thriller that I devoured in short order.

Sinclair crafts a well-balanced narrative that juggles multiple timelines without losing focus. The present-day chase forms the backbone of the novel, while carefully placed flashbacks reveal Lea’s path into intelligence work and her relationship with Callum. These glimpses into the past add depth and intrigue, slowly filling in the blanks and raising the stakes. Short, brisk chapters alternate between timelines, keeping the pacing tight and the tension consistently high. Once the story hits its stride, it’s nearly impossible to put down.

The characters are a standout strength. Callum is a compelling protagonist, driven by equal parts confusion, grief, and determination. His vulnerability makes him relatable, while his resolve keeps the story moving. The supporting cast is layered and deliberately ambiguous, leaving both Callum and the reader questioning who can be trusted. Lea, though largely absent from the present-day narrative, emerges as a strong and fascinating figure through the flashbacks, her story providing crucial context and emotional weight.

The plot builds steadily, delivering well-timed revelations and smart twists that feel earned rather than forced. As Callum uncovers the truth about his wife—and the life he thought he knew—the narrative expands in scope, adding complexity without sacrificing momentum. Sinclair demonstrates a clear talent for crafting suspense and maintaining control over a twisting, high-stakes storyline.

This novel proved to be an impressive re-introduction to Rob Sinclair, and it has certainly convinced me to seek out more of his work. With sharp writing, a compelling lead, and a vividly drawn European backdrop, this thriller delivers everything I look for in the genre—and then some. Sinclair leaves the reader satisfied, yet eager for more.

Kudos, Mr. Sinclair, for a story that had all the elements I needed.

I have been a big fan of this author since the early days of the Carl Logan, Enemy trilogy, and have devoured and loved every book since. Better known for this and his other series, he does occasionally throw in the odd stand alone, of which this is a cracking example...
So, we start with Lea who is waiting for a meeting which goes horribly wrong. We then cut to Lea's construction worker husband Callum who thought he was married to a corporate consultant, who he met when he was abroad on a rugby tour and she was at a conference. They dated, got married, and have been happy ever since. Until the day the police turn up and inform him not only that Lea is dead, but she was killed whilst on a job in a different country to the one he thought she was in, whilst riding a motorbike which he didn't know she could do. He is still reeling from this when, on arriving home, he walks into some rather interesting visitors, who tell him a very different story about his wife... that Lea was an MI6 agent and that they believe that he could be the key to getting some important missing sensitive information.
And so begins a cat and mouse game, as Callum tries to get his head around what in the heck is going on, at the same time as trying to find out what Lea hid and where, all the time not knowing who to trust...
It's all things thrilling and exciting, and with a healthy dollop of intrigue which kept me guessing all the way through. I was a bit worried that I wouldn't be able to believe that you could take an average Joe and credibly insert him into this world but the author has done an absolutely first rate job taking constriction worker Callum, who isn't the brightest and also suffers from dyslexia, and make him feel real as he chases around Europe, dodging the bad guys... In fact, by the end of the book I was pretty sad to have to say goodbye to him, and I do hope that maybe, just maybe, we might see more of him and one of the other characters (spoilers prevent me from naming them) in future books.
The story is extremely well plotted and that plot ably executed with twists and turns aplenty. As we follow the story in the present, there are flashbacks to various points in Lea's working life and Lea and Callum's private life which add colour and clarity and which also progresses the narrative.
It's action packed pretty much all the way through, with only scant respite for the reader in the form of the odd quieter moment. Ramping up all the way to the wholly satisfying conclusion.
All in all, a cracking addition to an already impressive back catalogue. If this is your genre book, and you are not familiar with the author, please do go check him out. You won't regret it.
My thanks go to the Publisher and Netgalley for the chance to read this book.

The opening immediately creates questions rather than answers. There’s a sense of danger from the outset, and before you’ve even settled into the story, you realise this isn’t going to be a straightforward narrative. When the focus then shifts to Callum — grieving, confused and trying to process what he’s been told — the contrast is powerful. As a reader, you’re already aware that there’s more beneath the surface, and that awareness adds an extra layer of tension to everything that follows.

One of the things I particularly enjoyed was the structure. The book alternates between Callum in the present day, desperately trying to piece together the truth, and Lea’s perspective in the years leading up to the current events — going back to when she first meets him. Those chapters gradually fill in gaps without ever handing you the full picture too easily. It’s almost like watching two timelines slowly move toward each other, each revealing just enough to deepen the mystery. I thought this worked brilliantly because it creates dramatic irony without spoiling anything. There are moments where you know slightly more than Callum does, and moments where you’re just as much in the dark as he is. That push and pull keeps the tension high. Every chapter felt purposeful — either raising new questions in the present or subtly reshaping your understanding of the past.

What really stood out to me was the emotional layer running alongside the thriller elements. Callum isn’t just dealing with danger; he’s trying to reconcile the woman he loved with the fragments of truth he’s uncovering. The constant doubt — about her, about the people around him, even about what he thought was real — gives the story weight beyond the action. You can’t help but imagine how unsettling it would be to discover that the life you believed in might never have existed in the way you thought.

The pacing is strong throughout, particularly as events push him beyond the UK and deeper into Europe. It has that cinematic, high-stakes feel, but it never loses sight of the human side of the story. Even when the action intensifies, the emotional confusion remains at the heart of it. I did occasionally feel a little lost with some of the political elements, but not in a way that detracted from the overall experience. I understood enough to follow the stakes, and the personal story was compelling enough to keep me fully invested. Overall, this was a tense, gripping and thoroughly enjoyable read. The dual timeline added depth, the shifting perspectives kept the mystery alive, and the constant uncertainty made it hard to put down. I’ll definitely be reading more from this author.

I read this book as an ARC from NetGalley and this review is based on my reading this book and is an honest reflection of my views about the story.

I have read books by Rob earlier and like his high octane style. And Blind Pursuit pulled me in faster than I expected. This is the kind of thriller that wastes no time setting the trap. One moment you are watching an ordinary life unfold and the next everything fractures. Callum Murphy believes he is happily married until the police inform him that his wife is dead. From there the story spirals into a relentless pursuit that crosses borders and tears apart everything Callum thought he knew about the woman he loved.

What Rob does particularly well and something I have noticed across his books is his ability to write deeply reactive protagonists. Callum is not a polished action hero. He is panicked grieving and often several steps behind the danger chasing him. That vulnerability grounds the story and makes the emotional stakes feel real even when the plot leans heavily into espionage territory. The sense of disorientation works in the book’s favour because the reader is just as unsure as Callum about who to trust and what is true.

The pacing is classic Rob Sinclair., Fast sharp and unapologetically cinematic. Chapters end on revelations or threats that practically dare you to stop reading. This makes Blind Pursuit incredibly addictive but it also means the story rarely pauses to reflect. Some twists arrive at such speed that the emotional weight does not always land as hard as it could. I found myself wishing for a few quieter moments to fully absorb the cost of betrayal and loss before being thrown into the next chase.

That said the tension never truly drops. The story moves across European locations with ease and confidence and the plot keeps tightening rather than unraveling. While seasoned thriller readers may spot a few familiar beats along the way the execution remains engaging. Rob knows his genre and leans into it without hesitation which is something many of his readers consistently praise.

By the end I felt satisfied rather than blown away which places this squarely in that three and a half star leaning towards four territory for me.
Blind Pursuit is a solid gripping thriller with emotional grounding and propulsive momentum. It may not reinvent the genre but it delivers exactly what it promises and sometimes that is more than enough.

Blind Pursuit by Rob Sinclair is a fast-paced, high-stakes thriller that pulls you in from the very first page and doesn’t let up. What starts as a devastating personal loss quickly unravels into a gripping story of espionage, secrets, and a man forced far outside his comfort zone.

Callum is a really compelling main character—an ordinary guy suddenly thrown into an extraordinary and dangerous situation after discovering that his wife, Lea, was living a double life as an MI6 agent. His grief, confusion, and determination feel very real, and it’s easy to root for him as he tries to piece together who his wife really was while staying one step ahead of people who believe he knows more than he does. The emotional core of the story adds a strong layer beneath all the action.

What stood out most to me was the pacing and structure. This is a quick, engaging read with short, punchy chapters that keep you turning pages. The dual timeline works really well, gradually revealing Lea’s side of the story while Callum struggles through the present. That balance keeps the tension high and makes you question everything alongside him—especially when it comes to who can actually be trusted.

The twists and turns were a big part of the fun, and while some plot points feel familiar within the espionage genre, the execution keeps it exciting and hard to put down. There’s a constant sense of urgency as the story moves across different locations, and it often feels very cinematic.

The reason this lands at four stars for me is that at times the pace is so fast that certain moments don’t fully land emotionally, and a few of the twists can feel slightly predictable. There are also a lot of moving pieces and characters, which can occasionally make things feel a bit overwhelming.

Overall, Blind Pursuit is an entertaining, action-packed thriller with a strong emotional thread at its center. It’s a great pick if you enjoy fast-moving stories full of suspense, shifting loyalties, and plenty of twists.

✨ I received an ARC; this is my honest review.

This is a fabulous standalone book by this author, and I have to say it is another brilliant action-packed, fast-paced, by the seat of your pants thriller.

Callum has been married to Lea for only a few years. She works for a company that involves her travelling a lot. She was in Europe, but something went wrong, and she died. The thing is that he didn't know exactly what she really did, or that Lea was not her real name. Instead, she worked for the British Government, and she was a spy.

The story is addictive, and the author doesn't hang about. He is straight into the action, and soon thrusts Callum headfirst into a world he knows nothing about. While grieving for his wife, trying to get his head around the lies, trying to understand what they had together, he is also now in the run.

In a world of lies, spies, corruption, deception, and danger, Callum has a hard time understanding the truth or even coming close to understanding. Everyone he meets is after something that Lea left for him. Her own investigation led to her death.

There is no hanging around for Callum; the author literally throws him to the wolves as he blindly searches for the truth. Coming to terms with loss is one thing, but not knowing the woman he loved as well as he thought is something else. Luckily, the author has equipped Callum, who is an ex-rugby player, still fit, and can hold his own. It does give him some chance of lasting long enough to find the truth.

I really enjoyed this book, it gave different aspects of government agencies, how they work not so well together and how corruption affects people, the security and the nation. Throwing in an undercover agent with a civilian is a good twist, but then involving him further was great reading. Far-fetched, well, yes, but it worked really well and made for exciting, nerve-jangling reading.

This is an ideal for fans of explosive thrillers, espionage and thrillers and one I would definitely recommend.

When Lea fell in love with Callum Murphy, she thought she could juggle her job with her married life. Callum, an ex-rugby player, was a stand up guy, and deeply in love with his wife. Lea's job took her away often, overseas and locally, with the two of them enjoying their time together when she finally made it home. But all came to a crashing end when Callum was approached at his site of work, by the police, taking him into the station. Confusion, then grief as he was informed of his wife's death overseas, and anger all formed part of his emotions. But worse, much worse, was to come, when he was informed Lea was not who he thought she was - a spy for MI6 for many years - and she'd been killed for the secrets she held.

As the hours passed, Callum had no idea who he could trust. Trying to find answers to Lea's death; her comrades in MI6; the team members she worked with - it was a life he had no idea about. And it wasn't something he could integrate himself into. He was in danger, he knew that. Would he survive? Would he find answers?

Blind Pursuit is a standalone thriller by Rob Sinclair which I thoroughly enjoyed. Callum is an stand out character, innocent, confused, grief stricken, but tough. Lea was also an excellent character, determined to locate and oust the criminals she was after. Written from both Lea's and Callum's points of view, in the near past (Lea) and current day (Callum) with the author's style of writing impressive. This is only my second by Sinclair, and I'll be looking for more. Highly recommended.

With thanks to NetGalley & Boldwood Books for my digital ARC to read and review.

Blind Pursuit by Rob Sinclair

~ Intense, intricately plotted, immersive story ~ Couldn’t put it down ~

What I liked:
* Callum Murphy: construction worker, rugby player, dyslexic, bullied as a child, told he was dumb, good friend, falls in love with and marries Lea, on a quest to find out who killed his wife and why
* Lea Torrance/Claire Simmonds: MI6 operative, skilled, lethal, talented, bright, begins to question her work, falls for Callum, searching for “Ithaca”, dies too young
* The opening chapter that set the stage and made me care about Lea
* The dual timeline that moved between present and past till the two finally met near the end
* The glimpses into what it might be like to be a spy and how dangerous it can be
* The way Lea was questioning the choices she made when she was younger and how difficult some of her other choices later must have been ~ I was intrigued by and admired her
* Learning more about Callum’s backstory, following him on his quest, seeing how he processed clues, growing to like him, and hoping he would survive
* That it wasn’t easy to know who the “good guys” were
* That the story made me think about families, love, living a double life, work, corruption, and so many other things
* Wondering what Callum must have felt after finding out the woman he loved and had been married to was also someone else when not with him
* The plot, pacing, setting and writing
* Thinking about Callum’s future and wondering what might lie in store for him

What I didn’t like:
* Who and what I was meant not to like
* The backstabbing corrupted evil characters
* Thinking about how much lying took place and how hard it must have been to keep stories straight

Did I like this book? Yes
Would I read more by this author? Yes

Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the ARC – This is my honest review.

I’ve been a fan of Rob Sinclair’s thrillers for a while now and having followed several of his other series, I was looking forward to seeing what he’d do with a fresh standalone story. This one introduces us to Callum Murphy, a regular guy whose life is turned upside down when he's told his wife, Lea, has died in an accident. But that's just the start of it – he soon finds out she wasn't the corporate consultant he thought she was but an MI6 agent with some very dangerous secrets.

The story is told using a dual timeline which I thought worked really well. We get to see Callum in the present day, desperately trying to piece together the truth while being hunted across Europe, mixed with flashbacks from Lea's perspective. It was fascinating to see the contrast between Callum’s "normal" life and the gritty, high-stakes world Lea was actually living in. It definitely makes you wonder how well you really know the people closest to you.

It's a very fast-paced read with plenty of tension and some great twists that I didn't see coming. Callum makes for a great lead because he's not a superhero – he’s just a grieving husband out of his depth, which makes the danger feel much more real. There were a couple of moments where the plot felt a little stretched, but that's pretty standard for these types of thrillers and it didn't take away from the enjoyment. It’s a gripping, intense read that kept me hooked until the very end.

Many thanks to the author, Boldwood Books and NetGalley for enabling me to read and share my thoughts of this book.

Another good book by Rob Sinclair, this one a stand-alone. Told by two narrators, Lea and her husband Callum, as the book starts Lea is involved in a violent incident and is killed. Callum is informed of her death, in a different country to where he expected her to be. As he returns home after being informed by the police of her death, two people in his home have more information about his wife. She works in espionage for MI6. Callum is picked up and interviewed for information about what Lea was working on, which is unknown to him.
Not knowing who he can trust, Callum follows a trail of clues left for him by his wife. The plot is twisted and although he does come to know more about Lea and what she was working on, he puts himself in danger .
It took me a couple of chapters to get tuned into the book, perhaps knowing how things ended for Lea from the outset meant that you know things do not have a happy ending, but the plot did engage me and was fast paced, complicated and kept me interested throughout. There are quite a lot of characters to keep track of and seen through Callum's and Lea's eyes, you are not sure whether they are to be trusted or not, which added tot he suspense and confusion. I do like this author's descritptions of this undercover world and have enjoyed other books by him and will definately look out for more, I personally found the ending a little too cryptic in this book, hence 4 -4.5 stars rather than 5 .
Thanks to Net Galley for a great read

This is a roller coaster read that's pace is fast and the plot is gripping. It's also told over several timelines. filled with twists, the suspense starts building almost immediately. I was often on the edge of my seat. The action kept coming in this complex read.

This tells a story that involves Lea, a MI6 agent, and Callum, a simple man who meets Lea and eventually marries her. Lea's job requires her to be away for quite a long time and on one of these missions she winds up being killed. Callum is contacted by the police one day and he learns from them that Lea has died. Callum is taken in and asked several questions relating to Lea's actions. It seems that when Lea died, there was information that was missing and they wanted to know if he had any idea. Callum also was targeted by two other individuals who wanted to know the same thing.

Follow along with Callum as he works along with the two mysterious agents that he learned later were MI6 agents. Callum remembered something that Lea said before she died and he believed that it was a message that would lead him to finding something that Lea had hidden. Read and learn what events Callum wound up facing and he searched for whatever Lea wanted him to find. Discover the clues that were provided and where it led to in the end.

The story is well done and the ending provides answers to questions that you might have had. This is definitely a book worth reading, don't miss out!

Another fast paced, action packed thriller from Rob Sinclair. A book written about a seemingly happily married couple however it was a marriage built on lies and deception. Lea was an agent working for the intelligence services whilst her husband, Callum was in the construction industry blissfully unaware that his wife was an undercover agent, thinking it was an every day job that took her abroad quite often. That until the police turned up at his work saying Lea had been killed in one country when she was supposed to be in another!
He is determined to find out what happened to her but quickly realises that he doesn't know who to trust and who to fear. The police and alleged special agents are telling very different stories but they all believe that Callum knows more than he's saying and that Lea had left him something which they want back. Callum realises that she has left some very subtle clues which he decides to follow hoping for answers to who killed her. The more he looks the more danger he puts himself into. The book is very cleverly written as it jumps back and forth in timelines detailing Lea's deception. It has absolutely everything you would want in a thriller, from espionage to killings with many twists and turns along the way.

Blind Pursuit by Rob Sinclair was another excellent book, which was full of action and was fast paced from the very few pages that will have you hooked, especially as it had me turning the pages to find out what happened next.
WoW, the very first chapter was all about one of the main characters Lea which was just excellent and so full of action!!

Then, we start to learn all about Lea and her character was just excellent, she was married to Callum Murphy, who thought they were happily married to a corporate consultant everything was perfect! Or was it?
Then the Police showed up at Callum's work place, informing his wife was killed in an accident.. . . . . . Then, his world starts to crumble all around him when he finds out Lea was living a double life and Lea was not the person who she says she was. . . . .

Within the next few hours, Callum is told that Lea was an MI6 agent . . . . .
WoW . . . . . .Now the nightmare is just beginning for him.

The deeper Callum digs, the more dangerous his situation becomes, forcing him to ask the ultimate. . . . . . Who was he married to! and can he trust anything she ever said to him?

WoW this book was superb. I highly recommend Blind Pursuit by Rob Sinclair.

This a fast paced thriller that starts off at a cracking pace and does not let up until the very last page. I barely had time to pause for breath as I raced through it.
Callum is married to Lea and has the perfect life except that one day he is informed that she has died abroad and it becomes clear that she had many secrets, the biggest of which was that she was working as an agent for MI5!
To add to his shock, Callum is subsequently pursued by spies from all sides who think he has top secret information that his wife entrusted to him.
Not knowing who to trust, Callum flees, determined to find out the truth and do the right thing both for his wife and his country.
This was an explosive thriller which pulled me in very quickly-I liked the character of Callum, his reading difficulties formed a clever part of the story and certainly made me sympathise with him all the more.
Lea’s story is told through a series of flashbacks and was particularly poignant knowing what had happened to her. I’m assuming that “Blind Pursuit “ is a stand alone novel although I for one would certainly like to know more about Callum.

Callum Murphy thought he was a lucky guy - he and his wife Lea were devoted to each other. However, Lea’s work as a successful corporate consultant, meant that she had to work away from home fairly often, so he relished the time they spent together - however, Lea hasn’t been honest with him!

The first Callum knew about Lea’s duplicity is when the police turned up at his door with the devastating news that she had been killed in a motorcycle accident abroad. If that wasn’t enough of a shock, he’s also informed that she was an MI6 operative!

To cut a long story short, Callum finds himself fleeing across Europe to discover the truth behind this tragedy, but there are others in pursuit of him, because they believe Lea left some important secrets with him, and they’re determined to get their hands on this information!

Wow, this was a really fast paced thriller, with plenty of twists and turns, and lots of suspense too. A real page turner, with every scene-ending, leaving you wanting more!

Blind pursuit perfectly sums it up! Callum Murphy is happily married to his wife Lea, a corporate consultant. When the police call to tell him that Lea has died in a road accident and then proceed to advise him that his wife was actually an MI6 operative, Callum is blindsided! Immediately after the shocking news is delivered, Callum's home is invaded by two men searching for secret information they believe Lea to have had and to have left with him. Still reeling, Callum has no choice but to run.

Callum is determined to uncover the truth about who his wife really was and why she was killed. Starting out knowing exactly nothing, Callum embarks on a rollercoaster of a journey, with one eye constantly over his shoulder and never knowing who to trust as the lies and manipulation build up. Knowing he will never be safe until he finds the information Lea left for him, it is a race for survival as Callum searches for clues, while trying to learn who his wife really was.

The plot is fast paced and gripping, told across multiple timelines and with great characters. Really enjoyable.

Callum Murphy is a construction worker who lives a simple normal happy life next to his wife Lea who is a corporate consultant. He is informed by the police that his wife has died while abroad. While he processes this information, he is also informed by some trespassers at his home that his wife was an MI6 agent. They believe that he may know where Lea hid some very important and sensitive information.

I really enjoyed this book as soon as I started reading it. It was action packed and full of uncertainty but it also showed their life as a couple. Callum is running for his life, while seeking answers and also grieving the loss of his wife. His plate is very full and then some. There is no one he can trust and he also needs to assimilate and understand who his wife really was and what was true about them as a couple. He also has some personal struggles that he deals with on a regular basis. All this added more depth to an already enticing and thrilling story. An impacting read full of questions that need answers.

Blind Pursuit was a jab of pure adrenaline rush for me, perpetuated by active murder, intrique, and layers of lies. Lea never quite trusts Denis as she investigates for the 'rat', to flush it out, all the while poor Callum, in foggy haze, complicates and overall, throws curve balls into the mix. Iranians, Russians and questionable elements from questionable places are thrown into the mix and kept the narrative tickingly mysterious. I did love and appreciate the bursts of humor injected into the chaos, which made me laugh right out loud.

The switchbacks from 'before' and 'present' times annoyed me. It was another type of annoyance to have to interrupt my reading as I found this to be a difficult-to-put-it-down sort of read, so that the first annoyance was overridden when I had to take breaks. All in all, this was a gripping and most satisfying read, thus I give it a 5-Star rating.

Blind Pursuit is quite the high-stakes espionage thriller! Callum Murphy, who believes he is happily married to a corporate consultant named Lea, has his life turned upside down when police inform him of Lea's death, and he discovers she was actually an MI6 agent killed for top-secret intelligence.

Suddenly targeted by gunmen and suspected by MI6 of knowing his wife's secrets, Callum is forced into a mad dash across Europe. As he follows a trail of clues Lea left specifically for him, he must uncover the truth about her final mission and decide if he can believe anything about the woman he married.

I loved Callum, so the chapters taking place in the present were my favorite. There were a LOT of characters, and Callum had no idea who he could trust. Even I was totally lost trying to figure out who he could trust – some of the seemingly good guys turned out to be bad, and some of the seemingly bad guys were promising they were totally truthful.

Blind Pursuit is a standalone novel that I received from #NetGalley.

When Callum is informed that his wife Lea is dead, his world falls apart. But her death is only the beginning as he discovers her double life as MI6 agent is revealed to a shocked and grieving husband. She was working on something that would shake the inner sanctum and everyone seems to assume that Callum knows where she has hidden her evidence.

Callum, an undiagnosed dyslexic most of his school years, is assumed to be thick. Even he, especially when comparing himself to his brilliant brother, thinks himself stupid. But he is going to learn some facts about himself, his wife and the world of espionage, that will rattle his preconceptions. As he is chased all over Europe by two set of spies, he is going to have to figure out which of them is the bad guys and which of them he can trust. While he is going to make some egregious mistakes, it turns out he is a smarter survivor than anyone expect for Lea ever imagined.

This book grabs the reader by the throat and never lets go. It had me up well past my bedtime wanting to know how it ends. Thrills and chills and lots of surprises. Five purrs and two paws up.

Callum and Lea are happily married but when the police arrive to tell him Lea had died in an accident and that she was an MI6 agent his entire world crumbles. When he returns home from a police interview strangers are waiting for him, telling him to trust them. The police return, a gun battle ensues and Callum decides to ‘trust’ the police. Escaping from them he next turns to the only person he thinks can help him to find out why Lea died.

A great opening, then we follow Callum in the present day gradually following clues Lea left for him, mistrusting anyone who offers help. Interwoven with Callum’s adventures, we follow Lea from when she and Callum first met, moving forward in time to present day as she tries to work out who the mole at MI6 is.

A great book: full of action, suspense, constantly changing ‘helpers’, plenty of twists and turns.
Definitely recommended.

This is a high-adrenaline chase thriller with an emotional core. The tone is tense, with that classic “ordinary guy” energy that kept me wanting more. The story leans more toward momentum than overly complicated plotting, and short sharp chapters- which I especially appreciate. It makes me want to read on!

There is a thread of grief and betrayal running underneath the action as Callum tries to get to the bottom of what’s happening and who is wife really was. This gives the story a slightly more personal edge, which I really enjoyed. The vibe is gripping and urgent rather than dark or gritty, and despite not being a massive fan of political or spy-based thrillers, Blind Pursuit was a very easy binge read which shocked me in places, and left me wanting more in the best possible way. Fast paced, exciting, and suspenseful.

Do you read a book and imagine the scene like you’re watching a TV show or watching a movie? This is exactly what you experience reading Rob Sinclair’s Blind Pursuit.

Blind Pursuit is a fast paced, action packed, espionage thriller that takes hold of you right from the start. I enjoyed the constant twists and active thinking needed while reading this book.

Lea’s life was nothing as it seemed. She was an MI6 agent. When she is a casualty during a mission, her husband, Callum, is left with the confusing realization that he knew nothing about her, or about their relationship.

Still reeling from the news, Callum goes on the run as he quickly realizes there are two teams chasing sensitive data Lea left behind. Callum isn’t sure who is to be trusted.

I read this on NetGalley and absolutely loved it! I couldn’t put it down, it is a fast-paced and action-packed. We follow Callum who is trying to find answers when his wife is killed. It turns out that his wife Lea was not the person he thought she was and lots of people are trying to get answers from Callum. Callum has no idea who is telling him the truth about Lea and who to trust. It turns out that Lea has left him some breadcrumbs to follow to get to the truth. A real strength of this book is the way we are shown Lea’s perspective and see her motivations alongside reliving the couple’s relationship through Callum’s eyes. It’s one of those books that you can’t wait to get to the end of then wish you were still reading it! I’ve already put some more books by this author on my to be read pile!

When Callum's wife dies, he did not expect the police to show up telling him that she was not quite who he thought but instead was an MI6 agent who had been killed for intelligence she had. Now he is being chased and is beginning to question everything have knew about his late wife.
This was a fast pace action thriller with plenty of twists and turns. It had good plot pacing and came complete with enough intrigue to keep the reader turning the page. My only slight grip was the number of characters sometimes was too much for me as I could not remember who they were and how they fitted into the story. I resorted to a character list. Despite that it was a good page turner.

Wow! What can I say?! Rob Sinclair knocks it out of the park with this one!
I'm no stranger to Rob's books but this is the first standalone book of his I have read & it certainly hasn't disappointed. I devoured this book in 24hrs, I just couldn't put it down. It was explosive, full of suspense from the word go and full of twists & turns at every corner.
I would definitely recommend this book (& his others)to anyone, especially if you're on the lookout for a new author to read.

Although I hadn't read the first in this series, it was fairly easy to follow the story as it starts off with a bang and never lets up! Lea and Callum are fearless and nothing can stop them from their mission as they are both fearless and will stop at nothing to achieve their country's goals. My heart was in my throat often as each of them battle terrorists and never know who will turn up next. It's fast-paced and filled with exhilaration that kept my heart racing!
