Soren's spent years training dragons, excelling at his job but remaining unbound. That changes when Faorse, his father's ancient, powerful, and very picky dragon, chooses him. Now he's clawing his way into the elite Skyspire Guild to win the fortune he needs to free his sister. He's not doing it alone. Faye's a ranch girl who would burn the world for him. Nova's an elite rider who sees exactly what he's capable of. Soren's done waiting to fly.
This book was not for me. The base plot of this book was good. It’s what kept me reading, but I will not be continuing on the next one. It felt like it was written by a 17 year old boy. Very “you’re the chosen one” feeling, and not in a good way. The love story didn’t feel real to me at all. I gave this a 3 instead of a 2 because I did cry at one point, and that deserves a kuddos.
You will have to really suspended your disbelief about what happens to guys sister...otherwise it's competently written dramatic slice of life about dragon riding, probably one of the better takes on the genre without it focusing on the mc's power-set. It's an eclectic mix of the farming and academy genres...chemistry is fine, the poly was a little odd with how pushy the first LI was. If you get past the sister thing it's worth your time.
Great read, yes there was spice but I wasn't gross it was part of the story. So far the girls aren't magically bi just because it hot to see girls kiss. The relationships are honestly intresting and not full of drama for the sake of drama. To be fair they all fell in love stupid fast but it was cute. The inbetween raising dragons, working with the time and world building stuff way great thin but great. Wonderful book hope there are more.
Well here it is number one book of the year without a doubt from the strength of the character's ,the story line that is up and down with everything you don't want to miss. I don't suggest that you read this book, I almost demand which is a strong word but trust me you will thank me. CAN'T WAIT for the book !!!!!!
I went from downright blubbering-at-a-kids-movie sad to raging and lighting mental pitchforks in the space of a few pages. I suspected it was something foul, but that confirmation just sealed it!
Where the heck is the rest of the series?! I need to read how Draven gets dealt with.
Oh ! What a ride ( read ). Cryed like a baby for the last four-five chapters. Do not read this book if you are afraid to have a happy cry. I plan to, promise to read every thing Leon West and Freya Stone have written or plan to write. Thank you both.
I've had this on my list for awhile and I wish I would have read it sooner. Fantastic book with great characters the love interests come about a little quickly but feel incredibly genuine. The world is cool and the ending was an emotional roller-coaster. I'm glad the sequel releases in a few days because I'm eager for more.
This book has some of the best characters I’ve read in a very long time they all felt so real and and I truly enjoyed them especially the cranky old grandmother dragon
I'm eager for the next book in this series! The cry his interesting and keeps you motivated to read. I love the characters and how different they are. I can't wait for m!
While I do not read dragon books often, this one felt like it needed more details and world building. The bonus chapters helped tremendously to fill in the blanks even though author stated they removed them for better flow. Flow was worked already.
This story is a new look at the results of a dragons life . Covering birth until the end. As a good storyline goes you are lead up to the end of the story.
The whole book! So good! The characters, the dragons, Will constantly screwing up Soren’s last name! Probably one of the best books I’ve read in the past 5 years!!
I don't know why some people insist on writing in the present tense but it ruins the entire book. Needless to say I did not make it past the first page.
