The perfect writer’s retreat. A charming, attentive host. And a secret that will turn her dream vacation into a living nightmare.
Rachel Clarke needs to escape. She’s found the perfect a stunning, isolated rental on the Oregon coast, offering two weeks of blissful solitude to finish her novel. The house is flawless, the host, Elias Shepherd, is incredibly helpful, and the ocean view is breathtaking. But the perfect silence is soon broken by things she can’t explain.
When Rachel discovers a desperate, hidden plea for help from the previous guest, she knows her paranoia isn't just in her head. Every window is an eye, and every move is being watched.
An absolutely gripping and addictive psychological thriller perfect for fans of Freida McFadden, Lucy Fokley, and The Guest List. You're Not Alone Here is the chilling first standalone novella in the Deadly Itinerary series. If you love unputdownable suspense, claustrophobic settings, and a cat-and-mouse game where nothing is as it seems, you’ll be hooked.
You’re Not Alone is an eerie, thought-provoking thriller.
What makes this story so compelling is how it plays on a very real fear and the vulnerability of being alone in an unfamiliar place.
I found the book both eerie and thought-provoking, especially in the idea of being constantly watched in a rental property. It’s the kind of story that makes you think twice about trusting your surroundings.
A haunting, suspenseful read that keeps you on edge and stays with you even after you’ve finished.
This book was a super quick read and that was great but it wasn't the best for me. It's like a lot happened and yet nothing happened at all! There wasn't a real ending it just finished with nothing tying it up!
You're Not alone Here - 4.5/5 ⭐ (rounded up to 5) As a writer myself, I have a deep appreciation for authors who can tell a complete, high-tension story without burying the plot in 300 pages of filler. You’re Not Alone Here is an example of that. I devoured this in under an hour, and it was a very suspenseful read which kept me on my toes the entire time.
The story follows Rachel, an aspiring writer who heads to a vacation rental to find some clarity, only to find herself spiraling into a mental nightmare. The author does a fantastic job building a sense of "domestic dread" from the very first night. Between the missing items, the subtle shadows, and the sound of footsteps, my mind was racing: Is this a haunting? Or is Rachel being hunted?
What I found most impressive was the psychological games. There was a point where I began to wonder if Rachel was a truly unreliable narrator... the author is a master at gaslighting the reader, making you question if the protagonist is actually seeing things or losing her grip on reality.
Even though I started to suspect the twist early on, it didn’t detract from my enjoyment at all. The writing style is smooth and engaging and the "just one more page" pull is so strong that I stayed glued to the screen until the end. Speaking of the ending, it was exceptionally well-executed (no spoilers). It’s funny, because the conclusion actually mirrors a project I’m currently working on almost exactly, which only proves that great minds think alike when it comes to a satisfying twist!
If you’re looking for a quick, suspenseful, and genuinely creepy psychological thriller that respects your time, put this at the top of your list. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for more titles from this author.
It started off good but then became really predictable. The plot – objects moving, sound of footprints and lights going out was really well written. But as the story moved along, I felt it became obvious what was happening and who was behind it. Lack of characters was the downfall of this book. As I felt more personalities would have elevated the book to a more interesting and edginess reading experience. Also not much was happening as far as the storyline.
A.M. Sinclair stories are a quick read but they have a lot in them. This story creeped me out, I don't think I could have stayed in that house, but, I kept turning the pages as it held my attention and kept me wondering how it was going to end. I was not disappointed. I received a free advance review copy and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
I am grateful to have received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. This was a very fun, quick, short read. It jumps right into the thrill and continues until the last sentence. I was able to read it in one sitting. It is a perfect short read for a rainy day or weekend!
Ok. Now I am paranoid! This was creepy from the get go. I wonder if Mark was in cahoots with Elias. Mark was definitely not a nice person. Too many women are put down in small ways until they believe they are worthless or useless. Too many men use that to their advantage. This is a perfectly creepy book. I LOVED IT!
This was a mind blower. Scariest part of the book is that this probably is happening. I would love more details now. Did they find him? Before or after more victims.
This book kept me turning pages one after another til I finished this book! It kept me on the edge! I love psychological thrillers! A great short read!
The story was amazing and addictive from the beginning. I hung on to every page not wanting to put the book down. Great read and riveting from the beginning!
