If you love the Christmas Holidays this book might be in your wheelhouse. Starting with the different European beginnings back in the 1200's into the Puritan Age then through the Victorian Age where Charles Dickens almost single handedly resurrected the Christmas Season from its banishment during the Puritan Age. Learn how the holiday became Americanized and spread through the world with each country eventually added their cultural touches, for example the Japanese making KFC the dinner of choice. Learn how the Christmas movies were born and some of the early history. Did you know that Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer almost was known as Rollo or Reginald? These are some of the tidbits you will come to know by reading this book.

Clayton provides an in-depth look into the history of Christmas and all of its faucets from the myths from the world views and all of its trappings. It is an intriguing book that I found captivating and well written.
