I do not know a lot about English football (what we in the United States call soccer) but I know enough and I'd certainly heard of Bobby Moore - a professional football player who captained West Ham United for more than ten years and was captain of the England team that won the 1966 World Cup. He is also widely regarded as one of the greatest defenders of all time, a true star player. That's pretty much what I knew, and when I had read a couple of years ago that his son had died at only 43 years old, and that Moore himself was only 51 when he died, I started looking for a biography of his life. This book is written by his first wife and it is very informative, very well written, but very sad. Moore had an exciting, turbulent life punctuated by tragedy. If you are interested in the man, or in sports, I would highly recommend this.

Really enjoyed this book but felt sad about the way he was treated by the FA along with the breakdown of their marriage. After loving Tina so much, he treated her so badly!

What a true story.

I started this book because Bobby Moore was my football hero from the moment I saw my first game at West Ham. What really amazed me was the amount of coincidences between the lives of my wife and myself and those of Bobby and Tina Moore. My wife, Irene was born a few year after Tina around the corner from Christchurch Road in Ingleby Road, Ilford. Irene also went from Christchurch School to Ilford County High. I met Irene at what was then "Tiffany's", being the Ilford Palais. I had moved from East Ham to the neighbouring area of Barking although not in the same area as Bobby. We also were married at St.Clement's in Ilford. A lot of these facts I was totally unaware of so I must say a big thank you to Tina - I feel a lot closer to both Bobby and yourself now. Finally another thank you to Tina for writing such a powerful and unputdownable book.

An honest and heartfelt account of life with Bobby , from someone who loved him so much for, just being Bobby. I purchased Tina's book because I adore Bobby Moore , but after completing the book I became a total fan of Tina's too. I applaud Tina's , love for her family , her grace and courage. This is a must read for not only Bobby Moore fans and those of us who are fascinated by the glamour and stars of the 60's , but also for those who understand that true love has no conditions.

Best book ever.

I chose this book because I love bobby Moore and I am a big fan of west ham united. I have given this the full five Star's because it is the best one, I have read. I would recommend this book to all that reads books and who's loves reading.

I'm not that into football but having watched the "Tina and Bobby" drama serialisation that was on TV recently I was intrigued by the couple.

I am really glad I read the book, I laughed and cried along with Tina's recollection of her memories of her life with Bobby.

It was well written and it wasn't all hero worshipping that I thought it might be.
