If the Art of War was written in 2024 and Machiavelli was alive to write it you’d have the 48 laws of power. Written with the attempt to compare rising to power in todays day and age, to the Great age of monarchy, this book fails to truly equip and inspire the reader to move through the modern world.
Overall, I write this one off as just another overhyped self help book.

good write up - minor grammatical errors

clear & concise
quite frankly, as most books should be.
there are a lot of timeless classics with a great wealth of knowledge in their pages but too much frill to warrant a full read
my man did a good job boiling down the key points to takeaway from the entire read and after reading you can certainly understand why there is such a demand in today’s age for summarized versions as most traditional reads are too time consuming and can be boiled down to a bulleted list of key points. this read doesn’t take but 10 minutes yet packed with all the important information you’d derive from reading the original in a weeks time.

Very interesting, the stories related to the 48 laws of power are based off of power dynamics of a bygone era. Their importance shouldn't be lost on that though. Some would say this book is evil but i think that is shortsighted. There is importance of understanding these dynamics because this is all around us in some form or other. Yes the outcomes of these dynamics may be different today, but the concept of the catalyst is there. Its important to know how the world, used to work, how this translates into today's standards. If you don't understand these dynamics, you can be taken advantage of, tossed aside and have no clue what is happening and how you got there. This book, if you can read between the lines, and related its translations to the today and the things around you today, this book can offer somewhat the tools to protect yourself, help you see it as it is happening rather than it being too late to act.

It was just OK. Rehashing a lot of old theories. I don't discount all of them, but I think this black and white approach to introducing them as if they stand alone as functional strategies sort of through me off. I think it is just an older way of thinking about them. Valid examples, but just seems outdated.

To be powerful...

These "rules" are hard to followis you're a decent human being. Some of these rules are why blood-thirsty, selfish thieves are always the one in power. Some could be useful to become influential without sacrificing your core character or stepping on others.

Thank you for summing it.

I enjoyed the read, but I did get stumped with multiple grammatical errors. It is a great quick read to sum up, which gives me more of an urge to read in deeper detail from the actual book. I enjoyed this. Thank you .

The great thing about this book is that there is no sentimental fluff. The ideas are simple, but when applied, you will indeed see a change in your environs. Poignant examples to hit the points home. Poor Tesla: the Melville of science.

pretty good

It’s really good as far as summaries go. Only compliant is some odd syntax that can make some sections difficult to read.

Riveting, exciting, and mind boggling. Keeps you wanting more. Lastly, the historic notes used by Greene is very insightful and alluring.
