The PlayPen #1

A Daddy for Him

Rate this book
After recently losing his boy to another man, Rhodes spends his nights at The PlayPen, a club for the daddy/Little scene, torn between wanting what everyone else has and bitterness. Cairo has what he needs.

Rhodes is a daddy without a Little. It’s a tough position for him. He’s used to having that small comfort in his life. Everything else is violence and blood. As part of the country’s biggest weapons dealer’s security team, he’s accustomed to being hard. He misses the softness of caring for someone with an innocent heart. Of course, the moment he chooses to let it go, life drops another needy Little on his lap. He’s not about to say no.

Cairo has a problem only a powerful daddy can solve. It’s a secret that could get Rhodes killed. But Cairo only has one shot to throw himself on Rhodes’ mercy and show he can be the best boy. If he can’t pull it off, then the move means he’s as good as dead. He’s willing to take the risk for a shot at something better. Cairo never expects how desperately he’ll end up wanting to keep Rhodes or how quickly the past will catch him.
A Daddy for Him is the first book in The Playpen. This series is a spinoff from the Little Lost series, where adorable, sometimes bratty, and scared Littles meet the men of their dreams.

⭐️⭐️⭐️

I really enjoyed this one. This author is usually hit or miss but always formulaic so I know what i'm getting: instalove with a proposal at the end. (At least that's how it's been with all the books i've read to completion so far)

I loved the MCs, one in need of saving but they ended up saving each other by being what the other needed. 🥺🥰

These stories are like brain candy to me, the writing is a bit simplistic to what I prefer and there's not enough depth that I feel is needed with such heavy topics but it always has enough fluff to keep me coming back for more.

This had a dynamic that I don't think i've read before so I was especially invested but If you came here looking for age play you'll be disappointed since there's very very little of that. (Perfect for me since I only care about the caretaking parts of that dynamic, lol)

I think this can still be read as a standalone even though there are characters from another series. If you care to know about all of the side characters you'd have to start with this author's Little Lost series since the final couple in that series is featured in this book. I've only read one out of the 6 (book 4) and didn't have any trouble. 🤷‍♀️

Rhodes, a hardened security operative and Daddy without a Little, is still hurting after losing the boy he cared for. When Cairo shows up — vulnerable, desperate, and carrying a dangerous secret — Rhodes can’t turn him away. Cairo needs protection only someone like Rhodes can offer, and as danger closes in, the two form an unexpected bond neither of them saw coming.

The attraction between Rhodes and Cairo is immediate and compelling — a pull that grows stronger with every moment they share. Rhodes’ fierce protectiveness is one of the highlights of the story, especially as Cairo’s vulnerability and need for safety become clearer. I also loved the way Kylo stepped in to guide Cairo, helping him find confidence and strength in a world that had only ever hurt him. The book carries a lot of emotion, touching on themes of past trafficking, abuse, and the long shadows they cast, but it balances that darkness with tenderness, care, and the slow rebuilding of trust. And in the end, seeing Rhodes and Cairo find their happiness together made the journey worth it. A heartfelt, emotional read with danger, healing, and a well‑earned happy ending. This was an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like Daddy/boy dynamic.

A Daddy for Him

Although this isn’t a sugary sweet story, it is really good. Cairo was sold as a small child, abused and worse by the man who had owned him. Then he met Rhodes and Rhodes was hurting from his past too. Even though it was different pain they fit. This is book made me very happy to see Cairo finally get peace and a chance at true happiness.

Think you have to read Little Lost series before you read this one because this book didn't make sense, and you missed a lot of info.

Enjoyed reading the book. Daddy/little is one of my favorite genres in mm literature. Good story and enjoyed the characters. Recommend reading.
