She loved him first. He’ll fall for her last – and hardest.
In the shadows of the city he rules, Dahlia Ferrara has spent years in love with one man: Mikail Morozov. Her brother’s best friend. The underworld’s coldest king. The forbidden obsession she was never meant to touch.
He rejected her once. Now she’s done waiting.
Dahlia offers Mikail ten days – no strings, no future, no promises. On day eleven, she walks away to build a life far beyond the brutality of their world and the secrets that have scarred them both.
But being this close to her, is a crack in his armor he can’t afford. Forced proximity ignites jealousy, desire, and a control he’s been breaking for years. Because Mikail has a secret of his own – he’s been celibate because no one has ever been her.
She’s sunshine in a violent world. He's a king built from regret. And their connection is one line that was never meant to be crossed.
Loving her is betrayal. Keeping her is war. But letting her go would destroy him.
A dark, intoxicating forbidden-love mafia romance featuring a jealous, possessive hero, a tortured heroine, forced proximity, unrequited turned devastating love, emotional scars, a celibate anti-hero, and a secret relationship that could get them both killed.

King of Regret is the 2nd book in the Kings of the Underworld series and one of my most anticipated books because I LOVED the first book. Unfortunately this was a big disappointment for me.
Dahlia is the younger sister to the hero from the first book and she has been in love with her brother's best friend Mikhail since she was a teen. Mikhail has pushed her away and denies his obsession with her because of an event that happened between them when his father had kidnapped her as revenge. He also can't go there because of her brother. Mikhail and her brother have joined their bafia and business worlds, so he can't put that at risk.
When Dahlia's brother goes away for his honeymoon he asks him to stay at his house to keep an eye on Dahlia. She makes it her goal to seduce him and though he fights it for a while they eventually agree to have a fling while they her brother is gone.
I was very annoyed with constant and repetitive sex scenes. From 30% to 70% of this book was just repeated sex. Their deep love and obsession with each other was ridiculous. It also had OTT cringy dialogue that was so flowery and unbelievable coming from a badass Pakhan.
I also thought the reason they couldn't be together was super flimsy and didn't work. Unfortunately, this just dragged on and on for me. I skimmed so many sex scenes.
It’s always a challenge to immerse myself in a series while it’s still unfolding, especially when each new book comes out about six months apart. I found myself skimming through Book 1 before jumping into the latest installment, just to refresh my memory on what Mika and Dahlia were enduring. And let me tell you, their love is as beautiful as it is tumultuous. The levels of angst are off the charts as they grapple with their feelings for one another, making the story all the more riveting.
For Dahlia Ferrara, music is her calling, but Mika is her everything. The Mafia Princess experienced a devastating event four years ago that caused her to grow up very quickly. She lost the one man she adored since childhood, all to keep family secrets hidden. I love how Dahlia matures and comes into her own in this book. She gains strength from her new sister-in-law, Calla (aka Luciana), an assassin, who teaches her to protect herself and go after what she wants. Dahlia’s love is so palpable that she resigns herself to seducing Mika before moving on with her life as a famous concert pianist. Fortunately for both of them, her scheme doesn’t go as planned.
Pakhan Mika Morozov is a ruthless killer who has sworn to protect Dahlia with his life, but keep her at a distance to protect his heart. He feels he has betrayed his best friend because of what happened four years ago and has vowed to stay friends with the woman he loves. I have to give him kudos for trying to keep it platonic for so long because that man absolutely worships Dahlia, but he underestimates her determination to get him to break, and boy, is it worth waiting for.
The chemistry between these two is beautifully frustrating, and I enjoyed the fact that Mika’s brutality is confined to his job, not directed at Dahlia. In fact, he is surprisingly vulnerable and accessible despite his efforts to push her away. It is a rewarding happily ever after.
It was nice to see a little bit of Calla and Enzo in this book. Their family ties are an important bond to Mika and Dahlia as they work out their relationship.
I recommend this dark romance that wraps you in beautiful chaos as you navigate the blurry boundaries of love, acceptance, and sacrifice in a dangerous world.
Thank you to Ms. Borell for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.
Holy cow, this book was such an emotional read for me. I absolutely loved this book from the first chapter and devoured it in one day!!! I am obsessed with the Kings of the Underworld series by Bianca Borell. She is one of my favorite authors, and I enjoy her creativity in writing these books. I thought the storyline was original, page-turning, and filled with drama, suspense(my favorite), angst, and the spice was on point. This book is a dark mafia romance and touches on dark themes and topics, so check the CW to make sure this book is for you. The characters in this book were complex and had heartbreaking and intriguing histories together. My heart broke for Dahlia and Mikail, and what they went through in this book. I loved their determination and fight while trying to do the right thing. This book had me all up in my feelings.
Dahlia was strong, smart, and determined. I loved her stubbornness and sheer will to find her happiness. Mikail was possessive, a little obsessed, had a dirty mouth, and was tall, dark, and broody. I absolutely loved the powder keg they were in this book, and when they ignited, it was epic. Like, go back and reread that part several times EPIC!!!! I can't wait to see what comes next from this author!!!.

Coming in hot from King of Obsession, you kinda have to know what happened with Mikail and Dahlia, to know and understand the emotional turmoil Mikail finds himself in and why he fights it every step. Meanwhile Dahlia is more than determined to show him and prove to him that he is worthy of her. I was beyond excited for their story to come out and it didn’t disappoint! From start to finish I was hooked line sinker into their story to see how it ends. And they got the best ending!
“You’re perfect just as you are. We women can’t afford to break. That’s a luxury not given to us. From our pain, we draw strength. From our ashes, we build something fiercer. From our despair, we rule the world.”
“I’ll die loving you. Doubt everything but not how madly in love I am with you. I’m a deeply flawed man, but my feelings for you are pure. Will never waver. There is no beginning nor an end to my love.”
“I love you until the last star fades away and the sky turns dark.”
“This woman makes me feel powerful like a titan, strong as a cliff, seductive like the ocean.”
King of Regret is book two in the Kings of the Underworld series, and it delivers chapter after chapter of sizzling chemistry, emotional intensity, and undeniable passion. Dahlia and Mikail share a past shaped by trauma, pain, and profound heartache. Believing her love for him has always been unrequited, Dahlia makes one final, desperate attempt to move on—only to discover that Mikail has been obsessively, hopelessly in love with her all along. As the author perfectly puts it: “So much passion. So much heat. So much love and madness and obsession these two share.”
This story is a deliciously angsty, forbidden romance that hits hard on both emotion and tension. The brother’s-best-friend trope, combined with forced proximity and a ticking clock, made this impossible to put down. Dahlia’s quiet strength contrasts beautifully with Mikail’s icy, controlled exterior, creating a push-and-pull dynamic that is both heartbreaking and intense. Dark, passionate, and emotionally charged, this book is perfect for readers who love slow-burn longing, tortured heroes, and a love that feels like a war worth fighting.
I received a free ARC of this book and this review is only my opinion.
This was an extremely angsty forbidden Mafia love story. Dahlia has been in love with Mikhail forever, her older protector and best friend to her older brother. The two men have a wholesome deep relationship based on the joining of their two mafia gangs. Mikhail has also denied and pushed aside his attraction to Dahlia believing he is too old and he would lose everything. When Dahlia finally appears to be moving on, they finally bite the bullet and get together and in a flash Mikhail decides he's happy to lose eveything for Dahlia. Thus commences the angst.
Their obsession felt a bit over the top in some ways throughout this, when they had been doing okay at ignoring their desired for each other. I also found the story just dragged on a bit with the whole 'we can't but we want to' aspect, it felt a bit tedious at times, particularly when the conclusion was that Dahlia's brother was relatively chill about their relationship.
Whilst i loved aspects of this story, it felt like it was missing an edge or something. It was still enjoyable enough
What can I say about this book? Except that I was waiting for this one since I met the two main characters, because I knew their story would break me, and it did. Their past was so heartbreaking, and it was the thing that was preventing them from moving forward.
The fact that Dahlia was ready to have her heart broken by the man she loved for a long time, just to have him for a little while, was both sad and beautiful. Lucky for her, Mikail is so obsessed with her because he's always there for her and to protect her. I truly love their relationship. I was so happy to see that Dahlia could always count on her best friend to help her and confide in her, especially because she's Mikail's sister. I love the fact that these two were perfect for each other because they complement each other, Dahlia with her quiet strength, and Mikail's icy attitude.
My only disappointment was that the story was fast, and I missed a few action scenes. But Bianca Borell stays one of my favourite authors, and I can't wait to read more of her books!
This is book 2 in the Kings of the Underworld series and it does not disappoint. Bianca gives us characters that we can’t help but love and feel everything they do. I was instantly hooked and although life was busy causing me to put down my book for a bit, I couldn’t stop thinking about picking it back up as soon as possible. Mikail and Dahlia were everything! The emotional rollercoaster of their journey was not an easy one and once they make it to their HEA it’s like a weight is lifted off your chest for them. They both went through a traumatic experience that caused distance between them even though Dahlia would’ve preferred for it to bring them closer. Mikail couldn’t handle the guilt of it all. But once they both got a taste of what life could be like together, they were both addicted and wanted more. Hands down a definite must read and I highly recommend. I can’t wait for more in this series.
Dahlia Ferrara has spent years in love with her brother's best friend, but after the incident he's been very distant and withdrawn. The incident happened in the book King of Obsession her brother's story when she was kidnapped. Mikail Morozov is known as underworld’s coldest king, but he knows to keep his distance from Dahlia. An emotional story as she sets out to prove she's worthy of him; she's not the frail little mafia princess everyone sees. She's stronger than before and the heck with her brother's opinions. I love how protective he is, he needs to stay away from her, but he can't especially now when her life is in danger. Mikail and Dahlia were amazing in this book. She’s lived him for a long time. But he can’t show weakness and she is his weakness. But she doesn’t know this. So she gives him a proposition. 10 days together and then she walks away. Nothing more. Give her the opportunity to just be with him before she leaves and finds love away from all the chaos. But he breaks. Finally admits to himself that he loves her too. I thought this was a great story. So well written. I felt the emotions between these two. It was intense and beautiful. This book was such a good read. I can’t wait to read more.

Book 2 of the Kings of the Underworld series. Can be read as a standalone.
'Loving her is betrayal. Keeping her is war. But letting her go would destroy him.'
The characters drove the storyline and they were very compelling and complex and complicated and perfectly steamy together. Plot was intriguing and intense and well paced. World building continues to excel and impress. All in all a great addition to the series. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend.

King of Regret by Bianca Borell was impossible to put down. I could not get enough of Dahlia and Mikail's story. Dahlia is in love with her brother's best friend, Mikail Morozov, a very cold, cruel and dangerous man. He may have rejected her but she is determined to get him to break so she offers him 10 days with no strings and no expectations but on the 11th day she walks. Mikail wants to protect her from his world but she's is still the only one for him. Mikail's obsession is OTT intense and the more time they spend together the stronger it becomes. If you enjoy forbidden and dark mafia romance their story is definitely for you.
This story was focused on their relationship with Mikail fighting his attraction to his best friend's younger sister and Dahlia trying to convince him that it is worth the risk. Mikhail finally gives in to his love for her after realizing that she may actually be moving on. He is obsessive and totally in love with her. She is not much different. It was very much different pace from the previous book in the series. Still a good read.

King of Regret continues the Kings of the Underworld Series and focuses on Mikhail, a leader of his family's Mafia empire, and Dahlia, a Mafia princess and the sister of his best friend. Mikhail has blocked Dahlia's attempts to be with him because of his feelings of losing control and his unworthiness, but he finally relents. This book is a dark Mafia romance between flawed characters scarred by their life experiences. It has strong emotions, danger, and a changing relationship.

Dahlia Ferrara has been in love with her brother's best friend for years. But after her kidnapping incident in book one King Of Obsession she becomes distant and keeps to herself.
Mikail Morozov is known to people as the coldest underworld king. And with Dahila being his best friends sister he keeps his distance from her.
This is an emotional story of a female who wants to prove that she is worthy of Mikail’s love and sets out to prove it. This mafia princess is no damsel in distress as one may think & with time has become stronger than before and doesn’t care for any opinions.
A protective hero who can’t stay away from her, but now that she’s in danger how can he stay away?
King of Regret Book 2 of Kings of the Underworld Written by Bianca Borell Dahlia is a strong character to keep trying to get Mikail to choose her. Copy from book: Mikail Morozov feels a lot for me, but not romantic love. The only thing I’ve always craved. The only thing he won’t gift me.
This is a must read!.

Dahlia had been in love with her brothers best friend Mikail, but it seemed he kept pushing her away, its only when she decides to give up and find someone who will love her that he discovers the depths of his own feelings but will it be too late? Well written desires off limits, brothers best friend, she falls first romance
This is a very good forbidden love, mafia romance. Mikail and Dahlia's story is a case of unrequited love turned into obsession, jealousy and a very possessive anti hero. Their love is forbidden, kind of messy but powerful. I loved the way Dahlia lured him in, even though he tried to resist. But you can't fight fate. If you enjoy really spicy mafia stories, this one is for you.
Dahlia is in love with Mikail Morozov, the Pakhan and her brother’s best friend. With drama, seduction, sizzle, grumpy/sunshine and forbidden vibes, this is a steamy read with twists and secrets.

Dahlia, who is a passionate pianist, loves Mikail and keeps trying to push him to love her back. She feels he keeps rejecting her, and she feels he just wants to be her protector. Mikail keeps denying himself of her love, since he feels he's not worthy of Dahlia, along with the fact that her brother is his best friend. Dahlia gives him an ultimatum of ten days, or she walks away from everything. Will Mikail stand up to the challenge, or will he walk away at the end? I recieved an arc from Booksprout for my voluntary, honest review for NN Book Blog. If you love a dark mafia romance with lots of angst, then you will love this read. This is Book Two in Kings of the Underworld and it is possible to be read as a standalone but it is better to have read Book One in the series to better understand what is going on in Book Two.
