Escaping heartbreak was supposed to be simple.
After catching her fiancé in the ultimate betrayal, Sloane Winters flees Denver with one goal—to avoid people and drink her weight in wine while hiding in a remote mountain cabin.

No men.
No emotions.
No reminders of how badly she misjudged her life.
But the universe has other plans.

A sudden blizzard wipes out her cell service, the road disappears beneath a blanket of snow, and Sloane’s stubborn determination to keep going nearly drives her straight into danger, until flashing emergency lights appear in the storm.

Enter Jax Reid.
Mountain Search and Rescue.
Protector.
An annoyingly handsome man with a bossy tone that should not be sexy … but absolutely is.

Forced to take shelter in a tiny ranger station while the storm rages, Sloane and Jax quickly discover there’s not a lot of room and even less distance between them. With Christmas movies playing, shared secrets exchanged, and one very tempting bed, the line between safety and attraction blurs fast.

She’s sworn off love.
He knows better than to fall for someone who’s just passing through.

But snowstorms have a way of changing plans, and one impulsive kiss might turn a disaster into a holiday miracle.

Holiday Rescue
A Reid Brothers Christmas #1
Jax and Sloane

Sloane needs a break from life, so she heads to a small mountain town. But on the way, a snow storm hits and she isn’t able to get to the cabin she rented. But thankfully, a rescue guy, Jax, is there and offers her the ranger’s station. With him.

For several days, Jax and Sloane are snowed in together. Neither can deny the chemistry between them. But as each day passes, it’s more than just chemistry. Sure, they have some fun, but Sloane’s life is a mess right now. And soon it’s time to say goodbye.

Love Jax and his brothers in this as well as Maggie and Riley. Sloane goes back and forth for me. The book starts out well, however there is a bit of repetition. Also, Sloane is quite wishy washy. This is where her friend and sister help out a lot. Overall, Cute close proximity, holiday read. I like the introduction to both Sloane and Jax’s family. Hopefully we get more Reid brother stories.

Perfect Christmas holiday romance, I read this in no time!
Sloane is in a crisis, her fiancé Chett cheats on her & her life implodes & she escapes Denver alone for alone time in a mountain cabin she has rented for 2 weeks. She gets stuck on route in a snow storm & gets rescued by the local fireman/mountain rescuer Jax Reid ❤️‍🔥
They are holed up for 3 days in a tiny rescue hut … say no more 🤭😮‍💨
Quick easy Christmas read & I loved it!

Who doesn’t love a Christmas book this one is a FMC running away from a cheating fiancé snowed in a cabin with a hunky search and rescue MMC.

Jax and Sloane story was a delight to read , Sloane character I felt she was inside of her head to much but Jax he is one 🔥 guy.

He helps Sloane so much with seeing he true self after her ex of 9 year took so much of her identity, Sloane parents are just awful how there treat both daughter is horrible , the Reid family you will love.

This is a quick and easy read hoping we get more from the Reid family
For me it’s 4 🌟

1 ⭐️ - Sloane needs a break from life, so she heads to a small mountain town. But on the way, a snow storm hits and she isn't able to get to the cabin she rented. But, a rescue guy, Jax, is there and offers her the ranger's station. With him.

Ngl I hated everything about this book. The fmc was so hot and cold - like I know she had something awful happen and her life is falling apart - but she went back and forth from "I choose you" to "I need space" to "you left me"...babes you knew him for 3 days, he wasn't as bad but still he literally asked her to move in on the 5th time they'd ever seen each other (yeah they'd been texting but still). I hated her, I hated her family, I hated her ex. Also it's called a holiday rescue and described as a Christmas romance, but where was it..Christmas who?? It was mentioned like 3 times and thanksgiving was mentioned more.
The ending was just awful too, I just wanted it to be over and then he asked to marry him (the day after her asked her to move in) like no. No sir don't.

Spice: 🌶️🌶️

What's a girl to do when she discovers her fiancé cheating after 9 years? Well, if you’re like Sloane, pack your car with the essentials of wine and cheese, and set off for a remote mountain cabin to figure out your life. Cue mother nature, a blizzard, and an annoyingly attractive Search and Rescue volunteer, Jax. He won't let her drive any further. Instead, he helps get her to the ranger station. The only problem, it's tiny, there's only 1 bed and they’re snowed in, together.
Sparks fly and after a no strings-attached proposal Jax shows Sloane just how she deserves to be worshipped. These two spend the next several days turning the heat up and somewhere in between couch cuddles, Christmas movies and shared secrets, they grow closer. Of course, they catch feelings, but when the blizzard ends, they part ways.
Jax is everything I want in my holiday men. A 6'4 walking green flag who loves Christmas movies? Yes please! He’s patient, kind, funny and supportive. Sloane’s hilarious bestie Riley and sister Maggie help Sloane figure things out and give some tough love when needed. I loved Jax’s brothers and the intro to the Reid family and hope we get to read more of them.
This winter romance has the sweet, holiday vibes of a Hallmark movie with enough emotional depth to not fall into the cheesy category. Combine that with enough spice to keep the cold at bay and Holiday Rescue is a perfect quick read for the holiday season.

perfection wrapped in a Christmas bow!

Naw this was such a sweet story. I loved Jax and Sloane. I’m definitely excited to see more of this couple and the Reid family.

When Jax saves Sloane from certain damage or worse in a snow storm, she never thought he’d be the glue to put her back together after a devastating break up. Their relationship may have started very unconventionally, but their journey is anything but a breeze. As Sloane discovers herself, she finds an inner strength to become the woman she used to be… happy, fun and driven.

Have you been binge watching those feel-good Christmas movies on television? Ever wonder about the steamy parts you don’t get to see and wish you could?

JA Low grants your Christmas wish in Holiday Rescue. It’s got everything you love in a Christmas movie: a damsel in distress, a swoonworthy hero, all the angst, and that sweet tug at your heartstrings.

Sloan Winters, our beautiful heroine who’s down on her luck and questioning everything she thought she knew, sets out on a trip to a secluded mountain cabin to figure out what’s next in her life. A snowstorm leads her directly into the welcoming arms of the gorgeous Jax Reid.

While these “emergency friends” get to know each other and fall in love, they generate more than enough heat to ride out the storm in their secluded little cabin. Jax helps Sloane know her worth, discover the strength that she’s always had, and understand what real love looks and feels like. He’s patient. He’s kind. He’s loving. Jax is EVERYTHING.

From the moment Jax saw Sloane, he knew she was it for him. He patiently, compassionately waited for her to repair her broken pieces and catch up with him. These two figured out they were made for each other and a forever love.

Okayyy was a fun read! Quick/short but will draw you in fast. Sloane is determined to give herself a few days away to get over her crappy ex, and finds herself smack in the middle of an intense blizzard. Jax intercepts her and tells her she can’t go any further up the mountain, and offers her respite in the recuse cabin up the road. She takes him up on it and they make the best of a few days where they are snowed in together! Sweet and spicy- another hit by JA Low!

Incredibly Awesome Holiday Swoony Read!

This book had me laughing out loud! The way Jax talks about his chickens has me roaring!!

I loveeee J.A. Low’s writing. She is swoony and sweet and spicy and funny!

First who doesn’t love a holiday romance where you get stuck and are snowed in and a handsome rugged man rescues you?

I mean that was awesome! Add in the humor, Sloane’s awful relationship and family drama and you have yourself an incredible read!

Least favorite of this author's books - read on KU

This book has so much cheesy dialogue. And, as with many if this author's books, there is a wishy washy FMC who has too much internal dialogue. And the spicy scenes were not that hot.

This is a very generic bad Hallmark movie type book. I would recommend some of the author's other works, but not this one.

I’m a fan of JA Low’s writing, so I was excited to read her latest, Holiday Rescue. Jax & Sloane meet in the middle of a snowstorm on a remote road, & take refuge in the mountain hut nearby. I found the first part a bit predictable, & not dissimilar to many other books with this trope, there’s a strong attraction between them & they had a lot of fun in the bedroom, all very steamy, though you did sense the possible beginnings of a deeper connection between them. I thought the strongest part of the story was after Jax & Sloane went their separate ways when the storm ended. We discovered the full reasons why Sloane had left Denver, her family, job & fiancé. She spent a lot of time working out her choices about life, what to do, where to live, with whom….. All the while keeping in touch with Jax through a hilarious series of texts about life on his farm. All this made for a more satisfying conclusion. Overall I enjoyed it, a good, fun, seasonal read.

Loved it!
Sloane has had her life implode and is running away for a self imposed exile from the human world is a brilliant start, then comes the blizzard and Jax.
I was laughing at the texts between Sloane and Riley - perfection.
The inner monologue of both main characters really added to the storyline, you can almost feel their sexual tension from here.
Sloane realises she lost her identity during the 9yr relationship with cheating Chett and her parents are honestly dreadful.
Jax’s family are lovely, hoping to see more of his brothers in future book - please.
It was a lovely festive quick read

Holiday Rescue
JA Low
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

Emergency roommates
JA Low always catches my attention right from the first paragraph in her books. Holiday Rescue is no different. The meet cute with Sloan almost getting stuck in a blizzard and finding a firefighter/search and rescue named Jax.
The dreaded pillow wall that NEVER works haha. He falls first and forced proximity are two of my favorite tropes.
Being seen is something every woman wants, seeing and being seen are very different things. The author knows how to write about loss, love and finding yourself.
Now I need Jax’s brother’s stories and they better include Riley (Everette)and Maggie(Ford)!!!!

I absolutely loved Jax - I mean what an MMC
I did love Sloane but the middle of the book solely from her POV for the whole chunk bothered me to be honest - I was shouting at my kindle for her to just get on with it. Thank god for Riley and Maggie but Sloane just needed to pull herself together.
Loved the Reid family and hope to read more from them

Everyone needs a Jax Reid in their lives. This guy falls hard and fast for Sloane but she’s not far behind. After catching her fiancé cheating on her she heads to a cabin to clear head only to get stuck in a snow storm with a hot search and rescuer. These two have instant chemistry and there’s only one bed. Absolutely perfect, I loved everything about it.

Sloane’s getaway was supposed to be simple: wine, cheese, and a chance to forget the fiancé she caught cheating. What she didn’t plan for was driving straight into a blizzard on a mountain with zero common sense and even less cell service. Cue Jax a Mountain Search and Rescue, annoyingly handsome, infuriatingly bossy… and somehow the only man who’s ever made her feel truly safe.

Their first meeting? Hilarious chaos. Their chemistry? Instant and electric. Their night snowed in together in a tiny ranger cabin with just one bed? Pure magic with a side of “how-is-this-so-steamy?”

One impulsive kiss blows Sloane’s world wide open, and suddenly her heartbreak doesn’t feel quite so permanent. Now she has to decide what—and who—she really wants.

I loved it

Holiday Rescue by JA Low was a wonderful book!! I started it and stayed up late into the night to finish it. Wow was it good. She was leaving her cheating ex behind and driving in the snowstorm to a cabin she rented. The weather got really bad and she had no cell service. She stops when she sees a search and rescue car and meets the sexy good looking kind romantic love of her life. I loved how much he adored her and waited how long she needed to get over her ex.
JA Low is a very talented author she made me so invested in this couple I just want to go on an on about all my favorite scenes in the book. I loved the chicken texts. I hate spoilers so I will just say this is a really good 10 star book that I highly recommend!

Started off my December reads strong with this beauty! Fast paced and to the point, some insta-love vibes buuuut it's a Holiday romance, so I can get on board with it.

I loved the flow and storyline of this one! The plot was fun, it has strong characters, some sweet moments and of course great spice (because it would not be a J.A. Low book without it). There was also a little dash of drama that kept me on my toes!

While being snowed in was the main plot point. I really enjoyed that there was more to it than that! But at the same time, you can snow me in the Jax Reid any damn day.

This book started so strong. I loved the first half. It’s your classic holiday romance where the woman is stranded in the mountains trying to escape her reality when a big storm hits. She stops at a mountain rescue station and the man she meets is a sweet, sexy, mountain rescue volunteer. They form an insta-love connection and spend several days together snowed in. They have sex 5+ times a day and things are great.

Then in the second half the FMC gets beyond annoying. She is so indecisive about what she wants. She has the same three conversations over and over. It was tiresome.

I really should have DNF’d around the 60% mark.

After discovering her fiancé cheating with his assistant in their shared apartment, the FMC ends the engagement, quits her job, and books a two week trip to the mountains to drink wine and eat her weight in cheese. While she is driving, a snowstorm makes the road impassable. She runs into a mountain rescue officer who insists the conditions are too dangerous to continue and guides her to a remote rescue cabin. They get snowed in together. They form quite the connection in a short time. Crazy drama ensues with the ex. She gets freaked out and goes back home. He misses her dearly and sends her chicken updates from his farm. We do get our HEA in the end.

I wasn't expecting to feel so good about a story involving a breakup after nine years, but Holiday Rescue is pure magic. The immediate connection between the new couple didn't feel rushed; it felt like they were finally home. It’s a charming story about second chances and fated love that left my heart feeling full.
