I spent time with Crimes of Passion and kept circling the same thought.
The cases are strong. Controlled. Intimate in the way only real investigations can be. You don’t chase shock, you let motive and consequence do the work. That tells me this book didn’t come from curiosity alone, but from a deeper relationship with truth and accountability.
And yet… the book feels like a voice stepping forward without fully stepping into the room.
By the final case, I knew the crimes, but not you. Not the lens you see them through. Not the thread that ties these stories together beyond evidence and outcome. True crime readers don’t just follow cases; they follow the mind guiding them. That’s the part that feels unfinished here.
Most writers never notice this gap. Readers do, quietly.
I’m reaching out because this is usually the moment an author either lets a book stand alone… or allows it to become the beginning of something more cohesive, more enduring.
If you’re open to a short conversation, I’d be interested in hearing how you see your work evolving beyond this anthology.
This book was an amazing, jaw dropping, read. After reading each story, I was just so in shock of how sick people really are in the world. I even googled each story to put faces to names and to see where they are now. I am making a mental note to keep up with the Pam trial in August 2026.
I really enjoyed this book 📚 it really makes you pay close attention to the people around you. Because you never really know what people will do. Some of the characters in this book you would never think in a million years would do what they did to the individuals closest to them. Definitely keeps you wanting more. *Page Turner 4 Sure*
