Love and duty calls talent manager Tess Armstrong away from the glamor of Hollywood to sleepy little Brazos Bend, Texas to care for her wild-child sister's newborn twins. As if that isn't trouble enough, there she catches the romantic attention of Nicholas Sutherland, the most eligible bachelor in Texas. Nicholas hasn't come to Brazos Bend looking for love, but he's a man accustomed to getting what he wants...and he wants Tess. He's happy to help her diaper the twins, dispose of the threat to her family, and even put up with a visit from Mr. Hollywood himself. All he wants in return is...everything. What's a self-made, independent woman to do?

My Long Tall Texas Heartthrob was cute. I’d say you can skip the first in this series. My Big Old Texas Heartache, for two reasons. One – it isn’t that hot, and two—the featured players show up in this book, and they are explained thoroughly.
Tess is a Hollywood agent that is called home to Texas by her irresponsible sister to come take care of her whole she is pregnant. Irresponsible Sister hadn’t even told Tess that she was pregnant at all, let alone with twins. She drops everything and rushes to Cedar Dell and finds her sister living a condemned trailer without air conditioning in the Texas heat. Her biker boyfriend, Snake, has left her here with little cash while he is off on a job.
I.S. has her twins at the hospital, and in the middle of the night she is threatened at knife point for something they think she has, but she doesn’t know what it is. Full of post pardum depression, fear, and the usual irresponsibility, she takes off from the hospital in the middle of the night, dumping her twins on her sister.
Cue, Nick, the gorgeous, kind, gazallionaire, hero. He knew Irresponsible Sister from town and wanted to help her. He had bought her a house to live in, and she and Tess moved in. He is a former lawyer, and uses his old connections to try to track down I.S., and Snake. In the mean time he falls for Tess hard, and also the girls.
It’s a fast light read, with suspense, and some steam.
When I read about Nicholas Sutherland in Ms. March's "My Big Old Texas Heartache" I just knew she was going to have to tell his story. Tess was great and kept him on his toes!
I am so glad to see Nick Sutherland get his chance at a happy ever after. He was so sweet in book one, it really made you want that for him. I read the original first book written by Geralyn Dawson. It uses a different name for the town. Once I got past that, I really got interested in the story. Nick is a swoon worthy main character, and Tess takes no prisoners. What's a "retired" lawyer to do? Chloe is Tess' sister and needs some help when her boyfriend leaves her behind while she is very pregnant. Tess comes to help and finds that things are worse than they seem, but not as bad as they appear! Things progress rapidly from there! You will have to read this to learn more, as I don't want to give spoilers! Read book one first, My Big Old Texas Heartache which is a bit more emotional than this one. I can't wait to see what happens next!
This is a fast paced book with a hopeful tone and a character oriented storyline with a few action scenes and some steamy scenes. The characters are vibrant and engaging. This is a great way to spend an afternoon! Enjoy!
Another good story from Emily March. Poor Nick. He runs away to Brazos Bend because of tragedies in his life. He makes a good life there. It feels like home. Then Tess walks into Brazos Bend. A fiesty woman who calls them like she sees them. She's here to help her sister. Help being the operative word. So why does she end up with 2 babies to look after, on her own, and her sister nowhere in site. Tess doesn't believe in love, but she sure thinks Nick is HOT! Not really a match made in heaven when he loves Brazos Bend and she loves L.A.
This book got a bit steamier and had more language than My Big Old Texas Heartache did, but I think I enjoyed the story line better. There were some unexpected twists near the end which I enjoyed too.
This was a wonderful story of how two sisters take care of each other, while falling in love. The older sister is the responsible one and ends up taking care of her younger sister's twins for awhile. It was a very heartwarming story.
MY LONG TALL TEXAS HEARTTHROB is the second of three stories in this series. They should definitely be read in order.
This is a quick breezy Geralyn Dawson humorous book. Tess is a Hollywood manager of entertainment talent and is highly competent in her profession. She has a sister, Chloe, who is less resourceful and at present is in a bad situation. She lives in a rat-infested trailer, she's broke and very pregnant. Her boyfriend has disappeared and now criminals are threatening Chloe's life.
Chloe is pretty petty but Tess pulls everything together. Tess, in the meantime, meets Nick Sutherland, who is a philanthropic-lawyer-carpenter who immediately falls for Tess. This is a lighthearted comedy that readers of Geralyn Dawson have come to expect.
Cedar Dell, Texas Series 1) My Big Old Texas Heartbreak 2) My Long Tall Texas Heartthrob 3) The Last Bachelor in Texas
It was a OK book, I didn't love it like the first one. Nick appeared to be so dark and interesting in the first book; in this one, he seems like a good ol' cowboy, easygoing and kind to old ladies and dogs, so blah. Tess, on the other hand, was interesting, and Chloe the typical spoiled, selfish little sister who is always getting into trouble and depending on big sister to get her out of it. The plot was very predictable. The part I liked best was the repartee between Nick and Max Cooper and the way Chloe grew up and learned to be self sufficient.
I didn't realise until I started reading this book that it had already been published under the name of Geralyn Dawson as "My Long Tall Texas Hearthrob".
Apparently there have been a few changes to place it in a series it had been intended to be a part of. It was a little disappointing not to have a new book to read, although I did enjoy it, and my previous version was in a now-obsolete e-format. Just, be warned that this is not a new story.
Nick was sort of an odd character in the first book. Odd in that he almost didn't belong in there. Well from that to his story here, his character is quite different. He becomes a very real persona. One I'd sure like to meet in real life. While I don't often give 5 stars to a book, finishing this story left a "feel good" sense to me. And that's the sort of book that deserves 5 stars.
well originally i wanted to read this book and after reading that it was originally published under another name, that one I have read. I really hate it when this happens because I will read every book that an authoress or author writes but I hate it when the names are changed and i have read it and then end up with another coy of the same book. AAARRRGGGGGGG
The story is actually really entertaining, but for some reason, I can't stand the hero. Nick gives me a little bit of a misogynistic feel to him. Tess is actually very nice and smart and fun to read about.
Great book. Book two in this series. Loved it. Great strong leading characters, quirky fun supporting characters. Loved the story, loved the mystery. A really great read.
